  1. There where security warning about Java. I believe Apple disabled Java plug ins and I disabled Java in my IE8 with Windows XP These threads may give you more details. viewtopic.php?f=44&t=10409 viewtopic.php?f=19&t=10408
  2. The whole UDI wiki is just full of very useful data.
  3. Not sure what EEPROM is in the latest units. I know the ones in my older modules. Is guaranteed 1,000,000 erase/write cycles. Though I would imagine most go for more than guaranteed cycles.
  4. There is also a section in the UDI wiki on Error messages. http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... r_Messages
  5. Insteon Modules do have a EEPROM in them for nonvolatile storage. They also have a typical read/erase/rewrite cycle specification. Reading stored data has a much larger specification. There is a section in the Full Users Manual for the ISY99i/994i on how to replace the SD card. I changed the one in my ISY99i for a larger one. Mine was an earlier version where I had to take the top off and remove the PCB. Later ones have a nice slot in the case. No disassembly needed. http://www.universal-devices.com/docs/p ... _3.2.6.pdf
  6. Nice to know they do make a dry contact interface. This may assist others in the future.
  7. Some dimmer switches without a Neutral. Steal their operating power through the load and it had to be incandescent type loads. Your old switches probably got power through the load and where able to keep their LED indicators On. That is why the new Insteon two wire dimmer can't be used on any loads that are not incandescent.
  8. Probably a intelligent controller that sends data on the wiring. A simple closure like a standard push button switch will not work. Also some openers have a LCD display and other features on their controls. The I/OLinc also shorts them out and they reset. Some have had success with wiring the I/OLincs relay physically across the controllers internal push button. To simulate the controller opening and closing the door.
  9. 2002SHL3 is an original X10 ONLY ApplianceLinc. Is a one way type. No power line transmitter in it to respond to things like a Status Request. It is not an Insteon Module. Your ISY controller can send X10 commands. So you maybe able to at least send it On Off and Dim commands.
  10. Some of the older hardware revision SwitchLinc Dimmers. Would flicker the load with power line traffic. Was corrected in the later hardware and I don't remember seeing any of the 2477D Dual Bands reported to flicker their load, but anything seem possible these days.
  11. The hardware version number found on the white sticker will not match the firmware revision your ISY Controller shows. Like my old 2456S3 ApplianceLincs hardware revision 1.3 modules. Have a v.28 firmware revision reported by My Lighting.
  12. Can you elaborate on your problem when using Java 7 Update 10? The 3.3.8 jnlp link works fine for me with Java 7 Update 10. This is with XP Pro SP3 and all patches.
  13. Installed with no problems. I have not seen anything out of the ordinary.
  14. Get a 2413S Dual Band PLM.
  15. That is what I thought. I actually tried an original RemoteLinc awhile back and it did seem to work. Though I am not too sure it was accurate.
  16. LeeG; I thought you had to use the RemoteLinc2 choice in the Link Management Tab. Though with all the latest firmware updates maybe other methods now work. Thanks for any added data you have.

  18. There is allot of good information on all kinds of lighting. On the Candle Power Forums. From home assembled lighting to tests and reviews of manufactured lighting. If you have not found them yet. You may want to give them a look. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/for ... d-Lighting
  19. I would call the Insteon Gold Line Support and explain your findings. I feel you have a bad PLM and I think they will also agree. Slightly moving or tapping a PLM should not make the Green LED go On and Off. Along with the intermittent connections and results.
  20. You may want to look at the Kichler.com web site. http://www.kichler.com/consumer/home_pa ... reset=true It looks like they make LEDs in both 120 volt and external 24 volt power supply types. I found some interesting information in their on line catalog pages. http://www.kichler.com/consumer/request_catalog_page Seems their 120 volt LEDs have a limited dimming range with triac type dimmers. Like SwitchLinc Dimmers. 94% to 76%. Also some Dimmable LEDs make power line noise or have noise suppressor in then that can act like a signal sucker. I have used some dimmable LED light bulbs from Phillips, Sylvania, LSG and a few others with good results. On Insteon dimmers as a test. I started with CFLs so most of my in use Insteon devices are On/Off relay types.
  21. Did you clear the Java Cache? In the Help Tab. About Choice. Do both the UI and Firmware numbers show 3.3.7?
  22. If you have query at restart checked in the Configuration Tab. All the modules that are power line interfaced. Will be queried at power up for their status. RF devices will not. They are asleep as previously pointed out. My RemoteLincs buttons show no status after a power restoration until I activate their buttons.
  23. Wiki is back up and I just downloaded the file as a test.
  24. They are in the process of moving files to a new server. Files are going missing and then returning later. Wait a little while and try again.
  25. Seems to be back online and working for me.
