The ISY controller normally does not query an RF device. Are the RF devices in a program or scene where they maybe queried? The Pro version adds the feature to not automatically update Battery operated RF devices and then lets you do them one at a time.

You may have been able to read the link database if you woke it up with its set button. Like other battery devices are.
-
The manuals are also on the Insteon.com site. Along with the links on the devices sales pages, LeeG mentioned. http://www.insteon.com/support.html The only exception with SwitchLincs where the old I1 protocol SwitchLinc Relays. They have no Air Gap switch and needed a set of button push sequences to reset them.
-
If you have a wall mounted control panel. Another option is open it up and connect the I/OLinc to its push button.
-
If you where replacing a same type device. You could have used the Replace Device function. http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... g_a_Device Can't say what is involved with replacing a dimmer with an On Off relay type.
-
Well we have seen reports of some 2413S PLMs quiting working. Both here and on the Smarthome forums.
-
If the old PLM was a 2412S. It is not Dual Band and you would have to go through an Access Point or another Dual Band module. So you could have had a power line signal problem from the device processing the RF commands.
-
If the fan has a reversible feature now. It maybe possible to wire the reversing switch through a relay. If it is a straight AC Motor. You can't reverse it. As it direction is controlled by how the AC windings in the motor are wound. At the factory.
-
Most UPS units are signal absorbers. The Insteon power line signal is like power line noise to an UPS. I have my APC BX1000 on the filtered outlet of a FilterLinc and the front pass through has my PLM in it.
-
If the Lutron uses a Neutral power wire along with Line and Load. You could get a standard SwitchLinc Dimmer that does not steal power through the load. You maybe able to add one standard incandescent bulb load in with the LED loads to provide the needed power. Just be aware it may not work correctly. It sometimes works with X10 two wire switches but I have never tested with a two wire Switchlinc Dimmer. Another option. Rewire the original switch loop to provide Line and Neutral to the switches electrical box. Install a three wire Switchlinc Dimmer and cap off the Load. InlineLinc Dimmer in the LED fixture and link it to the Switchlinc Dimmer to control it.

If you have the Pro version you can turn off the automatic wireless battery devices writes and then do them one at a time.
-
You are using the backup ZIP file the backup function generated and not the ZIP file inside the backup file?

As far as I can see. The smoke bridge is 120 volt AC only and has no batteries. It also is not a smoke alarm as it only notifies you one of the First Alert Detectors has sent a message. The new rules would definitely effect the First Alert Detectors but probably does not apply to the Smoke Bridge.
-
Also the RemoteLinc will show no status after a reboot of the ISY994i controller. Until the buttons are activated.

I did some tests for a Smarthome Forum User and an older 2412S PLM. If the 2412S is old enough to have firmware <70. Houselinc will not find it even if it is OK. I believe the <70 firmware PLMs also are the old 417 Link Database ones. Remember if you have to get a new PLM. The 2413S does not supply power to your ISY99 controller and you need an added external one.
-
2413S Serial PLM is needed. Some vendors like Smarthome sell kits with both the ISY994i series controllers and the needed PLM. The 2413S does not provide the needed power for the ISY994i but one was in the box with mine. You can find all kinds of good information in the UDI Wiki. Including users manuals. http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... =Main_Page

If you have not downloaded the full users manuals for your Insteon Devices. They are a great help. Most have links on their sales pages and they are also listed here. http://www.insteon.com/support.html Does sound like the motion sensor was in power saving mode. As LeeG pointed out. With an ISY controller. The manual linking information in the manuals is ignored and always use the ISY controller to do the linking. That way it knows the links and can act accordingly.

If the filter was a FilterLinc. It has an internal fuse that probably blew.

I just tested a v.33 Old Silver Remotelinc with the latest 4.0.4 firmware. Added fine. Installed with no issues. Are we still supposed to turn Off the Java Plug in for IE8 after we are through? I do have Java 1.7.21

Not all PLMs work with Houselinc. Early 2412S PLMs with firmware <70 seem to be not found in my tests and reports on the Smarthome Forums. They also are the ones with the small link database of 417 entries. Houselinc and the PLM you are using will add links in your devices not known by your ISY controller and its PLM. So it is possible to mess up your devices link databases. If memory serves me. Some Houselinc users factory reset their devices after using Houselinc and then restore them from their ISY controller. I found Houselinc will not automatically add my old I1 modules. It required me to use the set button after the automatic add failed. Probably because they are I1.

V.0D is the firmware version 0x0D.

You are not alone LeeG. I have seen many changes since I started using Insteon in late 2005. IMHO not all good for the end user or us Developers Group members. I have enough old Insteon Hardware to keep me going and dread having to mix older Insteon devices with the present modules. I always welcome your findings as you definitely know your Insteon hardware and software.

Is the Keypadlinc very old? A power reset with the Air Gap switch didn't help? Wiring is tight and the load is correct? No low voltage lights or CFLs? The flickering an pulsing LEDs look like its power supply has failed.
