ISY 99i not showing all switches for 2334-232 keypadlinc
Brian H replied to marksidell's topic in ISY994
Support for the 2334-232 Dual Band 6 button Keypadlinc was added in firmware 4.0.1. The last released firmware for the ISY99i is 3.3.10. -
One of the error messages you posted indicated an Old PLM. Did you ever have a different PLM on the ISY99i? Have you done the communications tests built into the Dual Band Devices? To verify phase coupling and RF communications? What version of ISY99i firmware are you running? 3.3.10 is the last ISY99i firmware. Are the Switchlincs Dual Band? You didn't list their model numbers and there where older power line only Switchlinc modules.
-
Just don't push the Air Gap Switch past its normal position when turning it back On. All the way in does a Factory Reset.
-
They are not the same. The 2334-222 is a Dual Band module and the 2486D is an older power line only module. They have different Sub Cat Numbers and the latest firmware for the ISY99i may not support it completely and it was added as a generic device. I just looked at the Firmware Release Notes and the 2334-222 was added in 4.0.1 and only for the ISY994i as the ISY99i firmware was frozen at 3.3.10. viewtopic.php?f=44&t=10771

I added a two second delay before sending my X10 commands. For the reasons Indy Mike pointed out.
-
Do you have an antivirus or firewall program running? If so what software is it?
-
Thanks for the update. I am glad it is now working.

The 2476S is discontinued and did not have a sense input. The 2467SS was the one with sense and it is also discontinued. http://www.smarthome.com/2476SS/SwitchL ... ite/p.aspx The Dual Band 2477S is now the model being sold and it also has no sense input. http://www.smarthome.com/2477S/SwitchLi ... ite/p.aspx The On Off Micro Module has sense inputs but I am not 100% sure it will work in your application. http://www.smarthome.com/2443-222/INSTE ... ule/p.aspx

May depend on the Hardware and Firmware revision of the modules. Some features where added by Smartlabs to later revision devices that are not in the earlier revisions. User provided data on Insteon Modules. http://www.madreporite.com/insteon/Inst ... e_list.htm If the options setting area for your module does not show that option. There is a very good chance the module does not support the feature.
-
You are not alone. I missed the ID label stuck inside a RemoteLinc.
-
Are you maybe thinking of the 2244-223 Automation Controller Kit originally sold through Best Buy. That I believe is discontinued and showing up in places like eBay. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/INSTEON+-+S ... ID=1987080 There is a thread over on the Smarthome Forums related to the 2244-223 Kit. As to what exactly was in the kit controller wise.
-
If the generator is not a pure sine wave output. It can drive some automation modules crazy or in extreme situations. Damage their power supplies.
-
You probably set it to never go to sleep. I would expect a very short battery life. Good luck and keep us informed.
-
If you don't have the 2413S connected to the ISY994i. It is in a protective mode and choices are not avilable. Try it with the 2413S PLM connected.
-
Is the old PLM the 2412S or the Dual band 2413S? If it is the 2412S I would think it maybe best to replace it. As for the 2443 Access Points. They are probably OK. I actually found in an informal test. My older V1.6 ones with the power transformer. Have a stronger RF signal than my newer V2.5 ones do.
-
Installing the Access Points is a good idea. Use the built in communications test to verify communications with each other and on opposite phases of the home. Access points are not installed into My Lighting as a module.

3. Some users have their ISY99i/ISY994i power supply on an UPS. The PLM still should be powered by a standard AC outlet. Not on an UPS or filtered surge strip. As they absorb most Insteon and X10 power line signals as noise. I have my ISY994i power supply on my UPS. The UPS is on the filtered outlet of a FilterLinc to prevent its internal line filters from absorbing Insteon signals. The PLM is in the front unfiltered outlet on the FilterLinc.
-
Here is one way. There are probably other ways. Note the internal sensor has to be replaced by the external one as there is no way to get the external sensors readings sent to the ISy controller. viewtopic.php?f=26&t=9833
-
The front outlet on the FilterLinc is not filtered. So it should not block the PLM's power line signals. That is exactly how my setup is. UPS in bottom filtered outlet and the PLM in the unfiltered pass through outlet on the front.

isy994i apparently DOA, network and error lights flashing

Without the PLM connected. The ISY994i goes into a safe mode. You can't use a backup and restore to the ISY994i alone. It has to be on the PLM and then you restore it from your last ISY99i backup. -
There are a few threads on Kapersky in this section of the forums. You may find some added data there. viewforum.php?f=3

LeeG; Doesn't the RS-485 option for the EZIComm add the signals to the RJ45 I/O Jack and the RS-232 signals are still there? The users manual seems to indicate that some normally unused pins and the TTL signal pins are removed or reused. When RS-485 was added.
-
Many of their devices are built on the Base PLM they get from Smartlabs and then add their own daughter cards.
-
I use Zone Alarm and in my case. The ISY994i's IP address had to be added to the Trusted Zone. I also had problems with Avast as LeeG mentioned.

Yes, no Universal Power PLM is a big bummer. It looks like they are going the cloud based smart phone apps and HouseLinc route. With the HUB. I doubt it would be that hard for the Smartlabs Engineers to rework the HUB for PLM use. Only thing I can think of. Insteon signals start before Zero Crossing and the PLM has to calculate from the last Zero Crossing to start a power line command. 50 cycles messes up all the timing. X10 starts from Zero Crossing and there is an off chance even at 50 cycles it was able to send a command.
