  1. The secondary KPL buttons cannot be turned on and off directly by the ISY but have to be included in a scene, the scene then can be turned on/off directly by the ISY. I believe it is defined by Insteon and not a limitation of ISY.
  2. In "Bug Fixes and Enhancements in 3.1.12 >Bug Fixes > - Device database corruption in extreme cases - What would be an example cause of "extreme cases" ? - KPL linkages off by one byte when in a scene - When would this happen, during Linking of the device or creating scenes and what would be the symtom? Thanks, Tim
  3. Hello creeble, No such thing as a dumb question! In order for a program to run it either needs to be called by another program or it needs a trigger in the If section. In your example the trigger is the from time or the end time. Each time is a trigger and your program will run exactly twice a day. First when the time strikes xxxx the program will evaluate true and turn the scene on. The second time the program will run is when the time strikes yyyy when the program will evaluate false and turn the scene off. Each time a program is triggered or evaluated it is said to run. It either runs true or it runs false. This program will work for X10 as well, even without the X10 module. Tim
  4. I am not sure I have any answers for you as to why the program doesn't run - sometimes. I do have a couple of suggestions that you can try. First try putting a wait 5 seconds in the action before turning the pool pump on. This way if the pool pump doesn’t turn on you can look at the Program Summary page for the Last Start and Last Finish times to verify there is a 5 second difference which would mean the program did run. Another thing you could try is turning the program false after it runs. Since there is nothing in the condition to cause the program ever to turn false (except after a reboot) but I doubt whether it makes any difference but at least you can rule it out if nothing else. And the last suggestion is adding a notification to the action of the program (or maybe 2 notifies, one at the beginning the other at the end, just before the run else action. Therefore you should get notification if and when the program runs. If Time is 12:01:00PM Then Send Notification email Wait 5 seconds Set 'Devices - Outside / Pool-Pump' Fast On Wait 5 seconds Send Notification email Run Else (this program name) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Don’t know if any of it will help but hopefully it will. Tim
  5. Good catch Lee!!! The scenes would have been turning on day and night.
  6. The act of closing the door is causing the program to re-evaluate during the wait period. You will have to break this program into two programs. Have this program turn the scenes on when the conditions are met. Have the second program turn off the scenes after 10 minutes. Tim
  7. Installed 3.1.12 last night - no issues, went very smoothly. Thank you very much for fixing the DSCLink/WCLink error log problem. Tim
  8. Here is a link to an example in another thread. http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=7326
  9. In order to “flash†a KPL button (in your case button H) you would need to create a scene and place that button in the new scene as a responder. Then create a new program with the condition you want (garage door open). Place the new scene in the Then section of the program turning the scene on wait x seconds then turn off the scene and repeat. The problem is every second or two the ISY is sending the scene on/off command – flooding the power lines with Insteon data. It would be very cool if you could have any kpl button flash on its own, maybe one day SH will add that feature to the firmware. Another alternative I have read about on this forum would be to change the color of the lens for the button. I have not tried so I am not sure how it would look. Tim
  10. In that case, how about something as simple as adding a Notification to the query program, before and after the query, like this: If Time is 12:50:00AM Or Time is 5:50:00AM Or Time is 12:50:00PM Then Send Notification to 'Tim's email' content 'Full' Set Scene 'House' Query Send Notification to 'Tim's email' content 'Full' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Then time your normal query. When the program runs it will send a time stamped email before and after the query so you can compare the run times. Anything longer than your normal query will indicate some sort of communication error so you can remotely log on to see if there is a problem and which device might have caused it (by a red ! next to the device), or if the problem cleared itself up. Tim Edit: Or if you want fewer emails then try this: Create a new query such as this one or modify your existing query: Program: Query If Time is 1:15:00AM Then Set Scene 'House' Query Run Program 'Query ' (Else Path) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Next create a new program such as this: Program: Query Failed If Program 'Query' is True Then Wait 2 minutes Send Notification to 'Tim's email' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Set the wait time in Query Failed to be a bit longer than your average query takes. If the query takes longer than normal then the second program will fire off an email to you.
  11. I only received a Low Batt signal once in 1 year with v2.0 MS, before that I have the v1.0 which were supposed to send Low Batt signals but didn’t. I had programs set up to send emails signaling the Low Batt conditions, only received 1 email and I had six MS! The thing that troubled me was that when the batteries got sufficiently low the MS could enter a state of randomly sending On signals. I had a couple of v2.0 which would constantly send an On signal to linked devices when the batteries were low. I would turn the devices Off and they would turn back on in minutes. Tim
  12. I cannot say whether any of my programs missed running today, at least not that I noticed. However I can confirm that I too have many Last Run times and Last Finished time slots empty which were populated yesterday. My last ISY reboot was on Friday. Just checked the Program Summary tab and found the oldest Last Run time was at 1:15AM this morning which was the query program. The time change seems to reset all the status fields. The logs show activity up to and after the query, no data loss there. Seems Like we had this occur last time change as well. Thanks, Tim
  13. Hello roadking2003, In the admin console > Programs > Details Page towards the bottom is "Schedule" button. If you uncheck "Daily" the calendar will appear. Press the button and configure you dates and times and press "Add to If" button. Here is the wiki page: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Schedule Tim Edit: Just noticed the wiki doesn't actually describe how to get the pull down menu for the calendar, but the first picture does show the "Daily" button unchecked.
  14. Hi Mitch, Yes, Admin Console >Programs > Details. Then right click on any program or folder and select “Find/Replace.†Then in the popup window select “Insteon†or “Scene,†whichever would apply. Then select the device or the scene the device is in. Then hit “Find.†Tim
  15. mrxmas, Just to clarify, you have unplugged the ISY’s PLM and all X10 plug in receivers and the X10 signal continues? Have they all been unplugged one at a time then plugged back in and also unplugged all at the same time?
  16. Updated early this morning and all went very well. Thank you UDI Tim
  17. Also, there can be no spaces in the name of the variable.
  18. Hi andyf0, Just curious if you found the cause yet and whether the programs are running as expected? Tim
  19. FWIW my plm is 40 wire feet from the panel which has a hardwired passive phase coupler. I have no AP's but do have 3 dualband plug in dimmers thru out the house which may or may not be on opposite legs, never tested.
  20. apostolakisl, Out of curiosity have you tried removing some or all of your AP’s and running the tests?
  21. NO. I am afraid you need the 2413S and the power supply ( http://www.smarthome.com/1223PS/Universal-Devices-ISY-Power-Supply/p.aspx) to run the ISY. Tim
  22. Nice. Thanks Illusion! Over the course of installing 50+ devices in the last couple of years (not to mention replacement devices) I can think of a number of times that using these would have simplified the installation and allowed me to trim all the wires in the box shorter which would have freed up space and made putting the devices in the boxes a lot easier. I agree I wouldn’t use them everywhere, but certainly in some two-gang boxes and all three-gang and larger. I did a quick search, Amazon has the 5 position connector for about 57 cents each and another place http://www.galesburgelectric.com/Wago-222-415-LEVER-NUTS-5-Conductor-Compact-Connectors.html has them at 38 cents a piece. I think spending 38 cents a piece is well worth my spending 5 + minutes messing with all the excess wiring, or being in a position where I need a third or fourth hand! Thanks for posting Illusion, Tim Edit: Just checked the galesburgelectric.com site, they are 38 cents a piece but they hose you on shipping. Basically getting them from Amazon or this other place ends up costing about the same with shipping which was about 72 cents each....still worth it IMHO. If anyone finds them cheaper though please post. t
  23. Here is a link to some problems others have had with Avast: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6911&p=53044&hilit=+Avast+AV+#p53044 Hope it helps. Tim
  24. What browser and antivirus are you running?
  25. I am not sure what that means either but I hope someone can chime in to tell us. To test IndyMikes theory can you open the event viewer and run your tests to see if the ISY is detecting a 2nd off, when you get the time.
