  1. The MeLE unit had the riser and screw installed. The Crucial SSD also came with a screw.
  2. Actually, it’s the 2280. I bought the Quieter3C (USB-C version of the 3Q), installed a SDD, and run Ubuntu on it. The MeLE unit comes with a thermally conductive pad for SSD passive cooling. Not sure if the UDI version includes one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B25NTRGD
  3. I asked them in January what their plans were to support Matter, and their response was, "We are aware of the Matter standard." Interpretation, "We have no idea and/or plans."
  4. Is there a link to register or invitation only?
  5. Given Insteon communication and hardware reliability, or lack there of, I don’t use Insteon for perimeter access control. Especially, controlling something like a garage door that could cause harm or damage. https://www.shouselaw.com/ca/personal-injury/premises-liability/garage-door-accident-lawsuit/
  6. 1. Create a program that runs one a day/week and increments a state variable (+=1) 2. Create a second program that triggers when the variable exceeds a value (>n) and reset variable (=0)
  7. It doesn’t Matter
  8. Sadly, no concrete plans to support Matter. Insteon will likely be one of those technologies that will be left behind as the rest of the world embraces technologies like Matter and Thread.
  9. How about 1. Add half the lights to one scene. 2. Add second half to a second scene. 3. Set up separate programs to change each scene for each color combination you want.
  10. Assign a static DHCP reservation in your router/firewall. If your router/firewall does not support it, buy or build one that does. For DNS/NTP add a firewall rule to redirect all outbound port 83/123 traffic to your own DNS/NTP server. Both are easily implemented in https://pfsense.org
  11. Did you mean 1/6/2023?
  12. 5.3.4 (Update) for ISY994 (July 30, 2021) https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/33287-534-update-for-isy994-july-30-2021/
  13. @GeddyThanks for the responses. My current kit is in the the Ron Popeil "Set it, and forget it" state. There is no compelling reason to upgrade, and only adds high likelihood of breaking compatibility with eKeypad Pro, Mobilinc HD, and the Elk M1. At this point in my life, I don't have the time or energy to dedicate to learning and managing another project. I am also faced with the high likelihood that I will have to rip out all my existing kit prior to selling my home after I retire, since no one will have the skills or patience to deal with it. The ISY Elk Module.
  14. I have the same question. I have a 994 running 4.x firmware and the original zwave 400 (?) module. I have been procrastinating moving to 5.x which I think requires the 500 series zwave module. I have have the Elk M1 and ISY module. I use eKeyPad Pro and MobiLinc HD as my primary apps for local and remote access. I think I read the 500 series zwave module are no long offered or available, so I may have missed the boat. For the new Polisy and eISY I think I read there is only a path from the 5.x firmware and I don’t want to loose eKeypad and MobiLinc HD support. What are my options? 1. Stick with what I have and wait for Matter and what ever products to mature before abandoning my current kit? 2. Find someone willing to sell their 500 series zwave module and upgrade to 5.x to prolong my current kit death and provide a eventual upgrade path for what ever comes next?
  15. He’s dead Jim
  16. I despise recurring extortion fees and cloud control. Although I have a Chamberlain GD, it pre-dates MyQ. I have an Elk relay output soldered to the wall unit pushbutton and the magnetic GD sensor wired to an Elk zone input. I use eKeypad Pro and Mobilinc HD for remote access. IMHO, the Insteon GD kit is not reliable or secure enough for premier access control.
  17. I thought I saw the bridge had WiFi and BT support.
  18. The Nokia products where never made available. Since the Nokia devices support Insteon RF, WiFi/BT it could theoretically support thread and matter, but I believe those require proprietary silicon which would need to be added to the design. That will require more non recurring investment. Matter also requires expensive certification, so it’s not much different than Apple HomeKit and MiFi certification. What ever the new Insteon team does they will need to eventually embrace matter if they want to succeed. The problem is finding the funding when you have no income coming in. They will need more VC investment, who will be looking for a quick return on investment.
  19. Backwards compatible with Insteon RF https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?share_fid=23986&share_tid=34472&share_pid=324881&url=/index.php?/topic/34472-Insteon-Replacement%3F/page__view__findpost__p__324881&share_type=t&link_source=app
  20. I haven’t got one. Are all customers getting them or just licensed installers/ resellers?
  21. Another former Microsoft executive sent in to "save" the business. Confirms Microsoft execs don't know how to run a hardware business.
  22. @Westlake Ventures Sounds like the previous owner hard coded the ISY IP address, or new router is on a different subnet and was assigned a different IP address. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Resetting_Your_ISY
  23. SLabs could have done the decent thing and open sourced their IP, but that would require someone actually having integrity.
  24. Performed a manual backup, manual upgrade, then went to manage modules which prompted me to remove the climate module. No observed issues.
  25. The 4.x.x firmware not 5.x.x. Been running Catalina since the first beta
