Michel Kohanim Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Hello All, This is the support topic for IoP 5.4.3: With kind regards, Michel 1 1
mbking Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 @Michel Kohanim, I upgraded to IoP 5.4.3 and found it was necessary to reboot Polisy to get IoP to communicate with my Insteon devices. I initially did an Update, Upgrade, and Restart of ISY. After waiting several minutes(maybe 3 or 4), I looked at UD Mobile and did not have any statuses on the Insteon devices. Went into the Admin Console and had Failed Communication error messages for all Insteon devices. That's when I did a sudo shutdown -r now to reboot Polisy and everything is working fine now. It's possible I didn't wait long enough before checking. It seems IoP takes the longest to reboot. Not sure if this is an issue, but wanted others to know that a restart of IoP may not get them working again. Thought on this one?
Techman Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Re: Zwave native links Shouldn't these links, for the Aeotec Multisensor 6, appear as controllers rather than responders?
asbril Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 I am trying to understand what exactly I can do with this. This Zwave device (Guest Fan Light) is linked (in Scenes or Programs) to some of the other devices listed in Native Links but for sure not to all, so I am not sure to understand what these native links tell me or allow me to do with.
kalman8 Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 I was able to upgrade without any issue. Made sure Polisy what ready before I logged back in.
brians Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 (edited) Ok, I think I understand how it is supposed to work... The controller knows/learns what each Z-Wave device on the network can support regarding associations and keeps track of this for each included device. This Native Links shows this when you right click for that particular one. If you go to the top Z-Wave advanced Show all all native links then you can see all the Z-Wave devices at once. However, it seems like most of my devices only support Multilevel Switch, not Basic Control. What Z-Wave plus refers to as common association groups: Group 1: Lifeline (AKA Controller) Group 2: Basic Set on/off Group 4: Dim Up/Dim Down (Dimmers) After installing new update I was looking at the native links for my Z-Wave devices. Seems like IoP names Native Link Types as: Group 2: Z-Wave Basic MC (MC_BASIC) (is a Basic Control node type) Group 4: Z-Wave Dimmer (MLSW) (is a Multilevel Switch Node type) So now when you have a Z-Wave device and it adds multiple nodes it sorta tells what they do by description.. it makes sense now that we have this tool. Some may be named like this for example: ZW 014.2 Basic Control ZW 015 Multilevel Switch Adding these specific nodes to a scene will give you the appropriate option in scene pull down. Now my issue is (and I think that everyone else has) is that the IoP does not seem to show Basic Control nodes for devices that "should" have them based on manufacturer specifications and how they apparently work with other controller hubs.... here is example of what I mean: A very common Jasco wall switch that should support basic control does not show up any of this capability and only has multilevel dimming options... That shows it can control the listed Z-Wave dimmers I have included in my entire Z-Wave network eg. Dining Room Lamp. Now if I look at my Zen17 relay, it has basic control and it can control all of these.. Note the Main Bathroom Fan is direct controllable which is the ZW 033 node I showed above - seems it can respond to Basic Control but does not have ability to control other devices via Basic Control?!? And I confirm I can do this when I add the basic control node into a scene: Therefore, I am wondering why none of my wall switches do not have basic set control nodes when the specifications appear like they should? In the case of my Jasco wall switch, it has the multilevel control so seems that it should also have basic control, and in my research reading elsewhere, it is advised that you add the dimmer switch to both Group 2 on/off and Group 4 dim (maybe dim doesn't turn the switch on/off and need the separate control?). Is it something IoP is missing, or are these manufacturers specs wrong, or am I just confused? Edited April 8, 2022 by brians error in groups naming 1
MBell Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Upgraded through ISY admin UI. Once upgrade was completed, noticed several nodes not updating. Waited 15 minutes. Nodes still not updating. Had to login into Polisy and re-enter user name and password in the Polyglot settings.
larryllix Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 (edited) Loaded easily with the sudo.... method. Works well, especially the system time variables. Thank you! @Chris JahnTwo outstanding items to fix on IoP yet: Modulus function (%=) needs to support decimals. Always gave decimal shifted results = Integers from decimal values. WoL on IoP is still broken. Hasn't ever functioned in polisy. Thanks! Edited April 8, 2022 by larryllix
mmb Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Updated via command line and everything seems fine. ISY Launcher reported I had a mismatch on the FW and UI versions which I corrected. Deleting java cache and start.jnlp fixed. UI date is fixed, my one ZW scene test was fine, Insteon and ZW device tests are fine. I haven't migrated to Polyglot V3.
rskirch Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 Missing Programs - restored - can't get to console In the Admin Console, I selected to upgrade to 5.4.3. I backed up and it rebooted. cleared cache, used start.jnlp to create a new shortcut. ISY finder comes up and I click and select admin console. Things look fine until I click on programs. After literally 5 minutes, the interface shows I have no programs. I restore the back up, clear the cache and run start.jnlp. ISY Finder comes up and when I click nothing happens. I am not presented with a menu. P3 is working, but I cannot get to the admin console. Any advice?
Michel Kohanim Posted April 12, 2022 Author Posted April 12, 2022 @rskirch, Please try: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page#Admin_Console_is_very_slow_or_hangs With kind regards, Michel
rskirch Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 I applied the settings, rebooted, and the ISY Finder is the only thing running. Just to reiterate, I am not getting the menu item to pop up to select the admin console. So this is not a case of admin console slow or hanging, I have no way of launching it. Thanks.

When you cleared your java cache did you also check the box to clear applications, this would have deleted the ISY finder from your desktop.
rskirch Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Yes. Now the programs are not working. I cannot express how frustrating it is to constantly have issues with this system. I have several programs that automatically control lighting, thermostats, outlets, etc. I can't afford to play the "let's troubleshoot" I don't have that kind of time. I just want the shortest path to get this working again. Should I reset the device and load the backup?

roopesh Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 (edited) I upgraded my Polisy Pro using these instructions but I still don't see ISY on Polisy. It doesn't show up in my launcher and when I try to add it manually (https://192.168.10.17:8443/desc) I get a "Not Found" error. How do I get IoP installed? Edit: solved. Did you clear your java cache, including all applications, and then download a new version of the ISY LAUNCHER?
MrBill Posted April 20, 2022 Posted April 20, 2022 Try sudo service isy start and let us know what it says. 1
roopesh Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Thank you! I don't know which thing helped the most, but I did the following: re-ran the package updater pointed the polisy ISY settings to itself rebooted the polisy pro 2-3x Then everything started working. And @MrBill it'll be handy to know i can just run that at the terminal and even get output! Thanks all!
