jkraus Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Long time isy user, ordered a polisy but not yet arrived. For the interface I know that you can run Isy (IoP) and then you can go to a different interface just to add Node servers to show up in the isy interface, do I have the concept correct? Is there another (3rd) interface beside isy that you can use to write your scenes & programs, or does it just look like an old isy when in that stage? alos, does the interface change if you are running a legacy insteon setup, which initially I will Just a bit confused on the concept here. Thanks much Joe
MrBill Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 By default, PG2 runs at https://<Polisy ip address> PG3 is https://192.168.1.89:3000 Ports 443 and 8080 are used for IoP, but you still need the admin console.
Athlon Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 (edited) IoP looks just like the ISY you are used to. You use a web browser to connect Node servers you want to add from your Polisy. EDIT: @MrBillPosted at the exact same time ? Edited April 27, 2022 by Athlon 1

Thanks much Joe You've basically gotten the concept. When you start the Admin Console on your Polisy, it'll look nearly exactly the same as it did on your ISY, even after you've migrated your setup from the ISY to the Polisy. No worries there. Polyglot will also be running, and if you don't currently have node servers, then you'll only need to look at it to perform some admin functions on the box itself (though you can actually do the same stuff with a bent paper clip inserted into a little port on the front of the box). Polyglot (the Node server interface) is accessed through your web browser.
jkraus Posted April 27, 2022 Author Posted April 27, 2022 thanks, OK that help, I am sure it will become clear after I receive the Polisy, just wasn't sure if it would appear really foreign to me? Thx
vbPhil Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 (edited) So I have ISY Launcher (Finder) shortcut on my Desktop. You run the Launcher and then choose Admin Console (LAN) and the AC opens up looking just like it did before. Also, the Polyglot Node Servers (PG3) Interface is accessed thru your Web Browser. You'll also need an ISY Portal Account and that is also accessed thru the Web Browser. Edited April 27, 2022 by vbphil Blocked out UUID
jkraus Posted April 27, 2022 Author Posted April 27, 2022 Oh cool, a picture worth a 1000 words! I have a ton more questions, but I think better to wait till I actually receive the Polisy, as some answers may become self evident! Thx
Geddy Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 @jkraus It will certainly be a learning curve, but that's where the forums are here to help. Also consider UD Wiki, specifically the Polisy User Guide to help with some questions you might have along the way... https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Polisy:User_Guide And would be a good idea to review some of the information found in this thread (by @dbwarner5) for migrating efforts...
