EISY upgrade from POLISY? (RE ISY-994i/Zwave)

Featured Replies

I'm still on ISY-994i(v5.0.16) with old Zwave, and all working good, no node servers.

So, do i now buy an EISY and Zmatter, and does that do all I need (I have Insteon PLM).
(So the Polisy isn't need at all?)

Do I need any PI's or anything to now d node servers?

(I'm hoping to do YoLink and CAO tags)

Any tips would be appreciated.

What are you trying to achieve?

If what you have is "working good" are you just wanting to upgrade your system to the current offerings from Universal Devices? If that's the case, then you would want an eisy+ZMatter dongle+PLM Kit

Being that your in Canada you will need to see if the Canada distributor has the parts you need before you go too much further in your questions.

If you're wanting to add YoLink and CAO Wireless tags to your system you will need the eisy to run Node Servers. I'm not sure if there was a YoLink node server in PG2 that would possibly run on a rpi system, but that's no longer supported so the current route is eisy with Polyglot V3x (PG3x). You can see from the forum area for Polyglot V3 what other node servers are available once you get an eisy.

The Polisy is no longer available unless you buy from other sources where people might be selling their Polisy as they upgrade to the eisy.

Sounds like it might be worth your time to read Universal Devices' website! https://www.universal-devices.com/

ISY is at end of life and will no longer receive updates, unless a major security flaw is detected.

Polisy was to be the replacement, but supply issues for parts required to build it killed that. UD has committed to developing Polisy for several more years.

Eisy is the future and while there are currently some growing pains, it is what is currently available.

Eisy also runs PG3x which is required for node servers. No Pi unit is required.

A USB PLM is required for eisy. If you already have a serial PLM, UD has a cable kit that can connect it to eisy.
