April 10Apr 10 Michel K. sent out a new version announcement last month. How do I find what my current versions are? If I go to Help > About in the Admin Console all I can see is Firmware IOS v.6.0.0. I cannot find the other version numbers he describes anywhere (Michel I suggest when you send a release announcement you include a link to the installation instructions).I've spent the better part of an hour trying to find the other numbers in my system and browsing the forum for hints. Also, I cannot seem to find out how to upgrade the Firmware. I've done it in the past but cannot seem to remember how I did it. When I go to Configure > System the "Upgrade BIOS" button doesn't function (doesn't respond to clicks). I found a link to an old YouTube video describing the process but the video is way out of date and the screen images do not match my EISY Admin Console displays.Help!Copied from Michel's post:Hello All,I am happy to announce a set of updated software and OS for your eisy/polisy:OS v14.3p9UDX - v4.4.0_6IoX - v6.0.5_1eisyui - v0.10.1
April 10Apr 10 Solution The best one stop shop for version numbers is in eisy-ui. Set your browser tohttp://<eisy ip address>This should bring up a black login screen, where you enter your UDI account information. Once in, click on the three little lines at the top left, and then choose "System". You'll see all your version numbers. Edited April 10Apr 10 by Guy Lavoie
April 10Apr 10 Author Thank you!I found them by clicking the three lines, then Settings, then System.Next question: Near the bottom of the list I see "Upgrade status: Inactive". What does that mean?Below that is a button labeled "Upgrade packages". Do I use that to update everything to the latest versions? I also find an "Upgrade packages" button in the Admin Console under Configuration > System. I assume that performs the same function?Sorry for the simple questions. I've been using Insteon + EISY (previously ISY994i) for 20+ years. I just don't look at this matter but maybe every couple of years. I get rusty.
April 10Apr 10 I've never done upgrades from within eisy-ui but that's likely how you would do them, yes.
April 11Apr 11 For the latest upgrade (v6.5.0), UD has advised to upgrade from the admin console. Got to the admin console, system configuration and select upgrade packages.
April 27Apr 27 I don 't see the OS version on the http://<eisy ip address> site. This is where I found it in a comment by dbwarner5Another easy way to see al your current versions of the imbedded software components is to type this into a browser. https://<local IP address of Eisy>:8443/WEB/sysconfig.txtOn the top line, it will tell you the OS system version, and then below all the package components of that system. Thursday at 09:49 PM5 days Sorry I've been out the loop too long. I updated my eisy using the above configuration/update, which it did but now when contacting via the admin console it informs: "This version of the admin console is incompatible with the installed version of IoX firmware". 6.0.3 6.05Remind me how to update the admin console.Another question is the R2 worth upgrading? I've been slowly replacing older insteaon with zwave and zebee but its not been smooth, Is there some here where people integrations of these device has been collected - I don't mind sharing my experiences. Many thanks
Thursday at 10:12 PM5 days When you use IoX finder, select loading the admin console from cloud. This will download and update the version on your eisy.Updating from eisy to eisy r2 would be a marginal improvement. The r2 is a bit faster and produces less heat. Thursday at 10:32 PM5 days You can view the EISY config file from here: https://eisy.local:8443/WEB/sysconfig.txtclick on ADVANCED, CONTINUE to eisy.local (unsafe)
Friday at 05:00 AM4 days Oh I see select "Admin console (from cloud)". Now it's doing stuff. Many thanks. Edited Friday at 05:04 AM4 days by delboy

Add "https://eisy.local:8433/desc" (without the quotes). It will prompt you for the "device" user/pass. Otherwise, it will ask for portal user/pass.18 hours ago, delboy said:Another question is the R2 worth upgrading?Personal preference. I'd think not since you're using the eisy already. It's more or less that the eisy r2 was a different configuration that UD went with for availability. They've even come out with the "eisy | lite" that is a cheaper unit due to the rising costs of memory and storage. Since the standard eisy sits between the two I'd think it would be safe to say it should carry the workload most need and will be updated by UD as long as "eisy" is their primary line of products.
