April 20Apr 20 Good morning. I have just upgraded from an old 994 to eisy. One of my needs is to bring the MyQ the eisy. I have two MyQ doors and would like to query the door positions in eisy for programs. Could someone give me a detailed instruction as to how to make this work. Other than this query, is there any other creative things to do with MyQ in eisy? I have not added any add-ons to the eiesy yet, so I need instructions on how to ad an add-on too.
April 20Apr 20 I don't have a MyQ system so I have no idea how they work, but most garage door openers only allow you "press the button" to open or close the door. Knowing the door position would involve using a separate sensor, such as magnetic contacts and an input module, such as an Insteon iolinc module. That's what I have myself. I have an alarm system-like magnetic sensor connected to the input of a iolinc, while the output of the same iolinc presses the button. The input sensor tells me if the door is closed or not, and I use program logic to press the button.
April 20Apr 20 I use the Insteon I/O Module - Garage Door Control & Status Kit to determine the status of my garage door. This uses a reed switch and a magnet attached to the door. It's a simple matter from that to have an EISY program determine if the door is open or closed.
April 20Apr 20 @aLf You are asking about a topic that has been a real pain. Many of the third party integrations take place through Plug-ins. These Plug-ins use the companies APIs to integrate their cloud data into the Eisy for seamless interactions / control and programming. However, many of the companies with large customer bases do not let third parties access their APIs. They do this to try and force hoemowerns to use only their technologies.MyQ is one of these companies. They want you to use their app, their cameras, their door openers, etc. So in the past they did share it, but as of about 2 years ago, they no longer allowed third party access. Therefore there is NO CURRENT WAY TO LINK A MyQ garage door controller to the Eisy via MyQ.The work arounds are numerous. The easiest one is to purchase a RATDGO (Rage against the Garage Door Opener!) device and use the RATDGO plugin. https://paulwieland.github.io/ratgdo/ I use this on two doors and have had good luck with it.Another way is to use a relay device, hardwired to a spare garage remote control and trigger it by emulating a button press. I use this on three doors and generally also worksI have also been using a great product by Konnected called the Blaq. Uses the same technology as the RATDGO, but unfortunately there is not a plug in for it yet. (anyone want to write it? their api is available on their website and it uses the same technology as the RATDGO). I use this on a Smartthings installation (not EISY) on a second home but would love to convert all my other doors to it as it's a great product. https://konnected.ioHope this helps.. unfortunately its a PIA. April 20Apr 20 @aLf I don’t think MyQ works with eisy any more. There used to be a plugin, but MyQ closed their system to 3rd party API access. Many have moved to other options. You might find some suggestions in the “old” MyQ area: https://forum.universal-devices.com/forum/328-myq/PS: edited subject to be more with what you posted so you might get more help.
April 20Apr 20 Another option is from Yolink, which has a great eISY plugin. Yolink has what's called a finger robot. You simply mount it next to your physical wall garage door opener on the wall. It mechanically presses the physical wall switch. It does not block the opener from being used normally. They also have garage door sensors so you detect open vs closed. https://shop.yosmart.com/collections/smart-garage Edited April 20Apr 20 by paulbates

I had integrated MyQ with my ISY environment way back when and it really pissed me off when they shutdown access through their API, so much so that I eventually got rid of anything MyQ-related. I've had good success with YoLink as an add-on replacement, though I used their Garage Door Controller rather than their Finger Controller.
April 23Apr 23 ratgdo (rage against the garage door opener) is the way to go. You do have to purchase the hardware but there is a plugin for it in the production store.
19 hours ago19 hr When the MyQ PG3 integration went down I moved over to Zooz Z wave dry contact switches, just connect them to where the push button would connect to the door opener unit.It also motivated me to do the same with 2 other openers, one a relic that I really didn't want to deal with yet and an industrial opener where I had to have up and down switches, everything works grear

The newer "coded" systems need to work with the code system to integrate and control the door. That's why RATDGO stands for Rage Against the Garage Door Opener. Simple left these devices long ago.

Simple left these devices long ago. That is not completely true. Even with Liftmaster coded system, you can use one of the below listed opener switches and then connect dry contacts to the terminal board.I did this a few years ago with a new Liftmfaster torsion bar garage door opener.https://www.amazon.com/883LMW-LiftMaster-Button-Control-Security/dp/B07W5RMN56/ref=asc_df_B07W5RMN56?tag=bngsmtphsnus-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80470717339467&hvnetw=s&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=m&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=98524&hvtargid=pla-4584070199414765&psc=1&msclkid=382c3ea2718c12808f9857558fc91362
9 hours ago9 hr Two plugin solutions for Eisy which give you complete control, both use the Ratdgo board. One is called Ratdgo the other is part of Virtual , one of the devices. I wrote the second one and use it everyday.
