New version just downloaded on iOS Sync errors

Featured Replies

I just downloaded latest version of UD mobile on iOS. I’m getting many errors on sync. It had been great until this version.

No control even for Insteon devices

I can’t select all the errors but here is a screen shot from top

Try rebooting eisy. These are network errors.

Reboot and same result on synchronization. I’ve also fully removed the app and added back including restore favorites. Tested both local and remote connection from app with success.

"with success" or without?

If without please open a ticket, I can't replicate and no other reports.

With success. I’ll open a ticket.

We had another report, I could not replicate on the remote connection, but did replicate on my controller using the local connection.  Looking into the issue now.

Temporary solution is to remove the local connection settings or synchronize on cell connection.

This is great! This worked and resolved the problem. I didn't open a ticket, but sent feedback through ios beta process. It had screen shots attached, but had same issues as @hart2hart.

What's odd is even on cell the sync "finds" over 200 values to clear or backup. I don't have anywhere near that many devices or variables for it to consider removing. It's "funky" (yes...that's about as technical as I can get).

Thanks for looking into it.

Same kind of problems here syncing. UDM 4.45.24, isy-6.0.5_10
Think I'll wait for the permanent solution before syncing via cell service.

Will be fixed in next firmware update 966b1b.

This is a networking error/bug when requesting Node Server Profiles. Portal Server is catching the issue, app was also caching the issue in the past but this caused slow synchronizations due to iOS not allowing connection-close header.

Thank you. So sorry I’m clear, the fix will be in eISY update — correct?

I have great cell service and sync goes very quickly.

  • 4 weeks later...

Have been having hte same problem. Have tried everything from new app, older backups etc. Have >50 errors, favorites not syncing etc.

Unfortunately I dont have good cell service here to sync with but will try that next time I do.

When will the EISY update occur?

No need for cell service, it just needs to go through portal. Delete the local IP Address until the next firmware update.

Was able to get cell service, and did a sync, so am up and running again. Local connection is working fine.

thanks.

I think I just ran into the same problem - at home on wifi, did a sync. Half of my favorites disappeared and if I go to devices under the Home tab it will show the devices but I can't control them.

Do I need to drop wifi and re-sync using cellular?

UD Mobile 4.4.25, IoX 5.9.1

Update...

Rebooted controller, turned off wifi, and synchronized. Favorites are still missing but I regained control over my devices.

The app should have prompted to backup before removal, if you did restore the backup.

The issue does not require cell service, only that the syntonization is done through Portal. So temporarily removing the local connection from UD Mobile settings will fix, UDM will still uses your home Wifi. The alternate method is to do on cell service which forces a remote connection as not on WiFi.

The cause:

There were recent changes to iOS (OS) which caused significant hanging in remote sync, part of this was due to UDM trying to catch a firmware bug during synchronization which I thought was fixed years ago but the workaround remained so was no one noticed it was not fixed.  When the catch was removed to fix the remote synchonization hang, We noticed the issue was never fixed in firmware.

A fix will be in the next firmware version, however because most of our users use the remote sync, it is preferred to not revert the workaround in UDM as sync would hang for most users as they use remote.

So I’m clear, what do you need to remove from local settings so it will only use portal?
