OS 14.4 Release Is Now Available!

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

We're happy to announce the availability of OS14.4, IoX 6.1.1, UDX 5.0, and eisy-ui 1.2.0 for eisy (only). This is a major release that upgrades your OS to 14.4 and brings significant enhancements — especially for eisy-ui and Z-Wave/Zigbee support.

Highlights

  • Full program editing through eisy-ui, including all customizations

  • Support for off-the-shelf Z-Wave 800 Series and Zigbee 3.0 dongles

A Redesigned Upgrade Procedure

The upgrade procedure has been redesigned from the ground up. Your unit now creates a clone and upgrades the clone first. If the upgrade succeeds, you will reboot into the clone. From eisy-ui | System | Boot Environment, you can choose which partition to boot from, and remove the one that's no longer in use.

⚠️ Warnings | Please Read Before Upgrading

  • If your FreeBSD OS is below 13.2p11 (check via https://eisy.local:8443/WEB/sysconfig.txt), do not attempt this upgrade; it will brick your system. Instead:

  • Do not attempt the upgrade if you are remote from your eisy/polisy and/or using ISY Portal

  • Do not attempt the upgrade over WiFi make sure you're connected to your router via Ethernet

  • This is a major OS upgrade. Please do not touch the unit until it comes back online or prompts you to reboot

  • If your eisy does not come back online within 2 hours, please submit a support ticket

Before You Upgrade

  1. Back up your Z-Wave network, if applicable (Z-Wave | Backup)

  2. Back up your IoX (File | Backup IoX)

  3. Back up your PG3

  4. Click Upgrade Packages in Admin Console | Configuration tab

Do not use SSH to perform the upgrade; this will brick your system.

What's New

IoX

  • Support for off-the-shelf Z-Wave 800 Series and Zigbee 3.0 dongles (supported hardware)

  • Backup/restore to Z-Wave and Zigbee dongles

UDX

  • Upgrade procedure now uses clones instead of running on the live system

  • Auto-detection of Z-Wave/Zigbee dongles

  • Choice of repositories (staging, beta, production)

  • Backup/restore now includes system files as well (rc.conf, wpa_supplicant, etc.)

eisy-ui

  • Full program creation/editing, including all customizations (see below)

  • Choose a different Boot Environment via System menu | Boot Environments

  • Choose a different repository via System menu | System Upgrade

  • Dynamic scene support

  • Foundational changes to enable replacing Admin Console by the end of the year: merging PG3 and eisy-ui, adding/configuring devices, full agentic AI support

Fixes

  • Zigbee devices could not be removed

  • Z-Wave devices caused the system to hang

Program Edits Are Here, and They're Better Than Ever

Alongside this release, we're excited to announce Program Edits in eisy-ui: a modern, intuitive way to create, view, and edit your programs and notifications, all from your browser, no Java Admin Console required.

We know the Admin Console has been part of your workflow for a long time, and it served its purpose. But the Java requirement was a constant source of friction, and we heard you. We've been working hard on something better, and we didn't just port the old experience; we rethought it from the ground up, with a focus on visibility and ease of use.

Program Creation, Viewing & Editing

The new program editor gives you full visibility into your programs at a glance.

  • Full command content is now visible in program viewing : no more hunting through collapsed fields or partial previews. Everything is right in front of you.

  • See your Notification content directly in the Program View : your notification details are surfaced inline, so you always know exactly what will be sent and when.

  • Edit Notification content directly from Program Edits : no need to navigate away. Adjust your notification text, timing, or targets without losing your place in the program.

  • Drag and drop support for Program Conditions and Actions (Then/Else) : reordering your logic is now as simple as dragging a row. Restructure your conditions and Then/Else actions in seconds.

Notification Customization

Notifications are now a first-class part of the program editing experience. Create, view, and edit your notification configurations directly alongside your programs. Whether you're setting up a new alert or fine-tuning an existing one, everything you need is in one place; no context switching, no separate screens.

Ready to Make the Move?

eisy-ui is ready for you today. The transition is straightforward: your existing programs are already there, waiting for you. We're committed to making this the best program editing experience we've ever shipped, and this is just the beginning. Stay tuned for what's next.

As always, thank you for being part of the community, and please reach out via a support ticket if you run into any issues.

With kind regards,

Michel
