  1. Yes that is how I originally generated mine, but I also like to keep track in a spreadsheet. Regarding Z-Wave S2, looking at other forums there seems to be discussion that if PIN code is lost then cannot use S2 authenticated for that device anymore. Many devices have it on a sticker, but some may include in a piece of paper. I went through some similar frustration on older version of LiFX and homekit pairing codes - I misplaced the boxes but discovered that the code is written in very tiny print on the base of bulb. Newer LiFX could apparently retrieve code from HK so don't have to go up and unscrew bulb.
  2. Looking at the instructions again, I think I should be fine to revert to Zooz: I just made a new backup from V5.5.0 I will shut down, remove Zooz stick and reboot...then press the Move to ZMatter Z-Wave button Then after reboot I should be able to re-add Z-Wave. If something goes wrong, I can just restore the backup and plug back in the Zooz. The only issue would be any Z-Wave devices I would have experimented, used previous in Zooz in ZMatter, would have to be re-included back in Zooz again (I think there may be some stray original nodes however left in Zooz which can be removed using SiLabs Wave PC controller software - remove failed node to clean up).
  3. With S2, I suppose we going to have to start keeping track of PIN codes now. For example, a wall switch that has that QR-Code on it, should also have a pin #. For my Insteon devices, I currently keep recorded all the addresses in a spreadsheet in case I need to add again so I don't have to remove wall plate.
  4. I am hoping my Yale Assure with Wave plus module (500 series) will work. Sorta waiting now since I rely on this lock for others to use and if I cannot program codes this is bad thing. All my other Z-Wave is not as critical.
  5. I had same issue so me too too! My Polisy was hung for hours with right two LEDs blinking but it was still working. I reboot and had the UID of 00's. Update the pkg as per above, then took a couple reboots and attempts but now is at v5.5.0 None of my Zooz Z-Wave devices worked at first, but I did a hard reboot of the Polisy by pulling power. I tried soft restarting Polisy a few times and Z-Wave did not work - it seems the dongle gets stuck and needs a hardware reboot (note that I remember this happened with previous updates). Will probably start moving to ZMatter this weekend.
  6. I also opened a ticket. No reply yet but is weeekend so don’t expect til next week. Did you ever get yours working ?
  7. Same here, been over an hour and no update after click on Update Packages.
  8. I interpreted this as they found the bug with ZWave not working correctly in recent 5.5.0 where included devices would not show etc., not the ZWave migration issue regarding firmware bug.
  9. @wmcneil You can backup the Zooz stick using methods I have discussed in the 700 forum using a PC. During the Move to ZMatter process, you would have pulled the Zooz stick prior to pressing move to ZMatter button. At that point the info on the Zooz stick stays intact. You could theoretically reload a the backup you made back onto IoX, prior to pressing move to ZMatter Polisy/IoX, then plugin the Zooz stick and everything should work as before.
  10. I am sure that it does not backup/restore the Zooz stick. There is currently no migration path from any current Z-Wave (500 series, Zooz) to ZMatter due to a bug in the ZMatter firmware; this has been posted and discussed many times and is reason for the delay of the 5.5.0. This 5.5.0 version currently released is ONLY for doing a fresh setup with Z-Wave for those who want to use ZMatter's new Z-Wave features now and do not care about the Z-Wave migration (ie. those with small Z-Wave networks, or none at all). If you want to use continue to use your existing Z-Wave network then stay away from this firmware until they release one that supports migration. We will all hear when this happens. @asbrilthe reason I speculate why all the Z-Wave nodes disappear after clicking Move To Z-Wave button (not by simply loading the firmware) is because this firmware does not support migration. During this process, all the old Z-Wave are removed/cleaned... maybe due to the way the new Z-Wave code is written vs the old regarding how nodes are stored in IoX causing incompatibility, and also simply to just remove them to avoid confusion and/or expectation that they should work afterwards. The "Backup ISY" is probably something they forgot to change when they changed name from ISY to IoX, and may be already changed in 5.5.0
  11. @Michel Kohanimis it safe now for Zooz stick users to upgrade in that the zooz stick will still continue to function, or will the ZMatter take over and cause to be inoperable?
  12. I don't think you have to exclude from ISY first, just do an exclude with EISY (which should also reset the device), and then an include. There is also usually a factory reset procedure for Z-Wave devices to reset without a controller. If you want to gradually move Z-Wave devices over from ISY, then exclude from ISY first instead.
  13. Where do you hear we have to wait for EISY now? Yes I understand that in your case you have 80 devices and why you would not want to manually upgrade. However, UID promised this, "We are going to spend the weekend and Monday to finalize migration/routing, with or without which we’ll release a version on Tuesday the 13th. This way, those who do not need migration can start playing and enjoying ZMatter while we fix migration or SiLabs comes up with an updated firmware." Since it is just before 8pm PST at time of posting, they have just over 4 hours left. I really was looking forward to spending tonight (and possibly next day or so) destroying my Z-Wave network LOL!
  14. Wonder if will be be released today as promised?

    eisy ZMatter USB

As a Polisy/ZMatter owner I'll wait because there doesn't appear to be any announced enhancements for IoX and no reason for me to get one now over my current Polisy. I figured it would cost me around $750 CAD to get a complete EISY setup with ZMatter and PLM adapter here after all shipping and duty. However, this is a VERY good thing for those upgrading from ISY994i that cannot get a Polisy now and I would definitely order one if I still had my ISY994i. I may change my mind if I start seeing new compelling features for IoX which come out first for EISY and delayed for Polisy, or not available at all (not interested in using it for watching 4K video or running HA).
  16. This is only if you ping a bad host that contain the exploit. If you don't go around pinging everything withing a polisy shell, then no worries.
  17. Yes weird, and how does it differentiate which one to use in my case, where I have ZMatter installed and Zooz stick also... wonder if they prioritize the Zooz dongle?
  18. They sent out emails regarding firware bugs with cause the migration method which to relies on the SiLabs firmware to make things corrupt. It further explains that the have tried to develop an alternate migration method, which uses ISY information to reconstruct the network onto the new dongle, but there is concern of routing issues using this method. ETA is Tuesday 13th now for a version, in the worst case without migration if they don't have it solved by that time. Since I have only 20 Z Wave devices, I can decide if I want to just manually add them back in similar to what I did almost a year ago when moving to Polisy. I don't have too many programs or scenes. If it is a similar process it won't be that big of a deal for me. In this case, I would hope that UDI provides an overview how to do this.. eg. document all ZWave devices, exclude them all from ISY, then remove Zooz USB dongle. Enable ZMatter/software upgrade and include each zwave device back in one by one and add into appropriate program/scenes.
  19. I noticed for past couple days the message at top of forum announcing the Zmatter update delay is gone. A possible reason that they removed is they decided that are unable to resolve by 9th so they decided to take down the message. I hope that is not the case, but there have been no further progress updates... just silence. Just wondering if it is still on track for 9th or should I make alternate plans for this weekend, like instead maybe spend time with my wife LOL?!?
  20. Ya shut it off and/or reformat the device it is on so never runs again. When I did this for a couple node servers, they still remained in PG2 so removed PG2 after and it then sent a command to ISY and removed from there so I had to delete from ISY and re-install.
  21. @FerventGeekRegarding your other posts recently, you state that are migrating to Polisy but don't have a PLM cable. It seems that based on the version 5.3.4 you are probably still connected to your ISY994i.
  22. Since adding ZMatter board and antennas, I cannot rest the Polisy on its side anymore on top of wall mounted UPS I went looking for a nice wall mount shelf and just purchased this... will update with pics when I get. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B09TFZ2FVR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  23. @FerventGeekI used a cisco rollover cable but I just cut the RJ45 end off and crimped a new one based on the pinouts in diagrams and user manual. I think it was only three wires. Note that the wire colors don't seem to be standard from one cisco cable to another - I have several with different color combinations. If you don't have a tool, you can just cut the wire mid-point and use a multi-meter to reconnect the wires correctly.
  24. Ok, so what is the process upgrading from Zooz USB to ZMatter?
  25. Good to hear there is a Canadian supplier. I just got my reship notice earlier and cost me additional $45 USD to ship it to me. Hopefully everything is all sorted out by time I get (hopefully end of week but my luck will be help up until next Monday). Like most new things, I expect the novelty/excitement to wear off in about 30 sec. upon installation
