  1. Hi ferdies, thanks SO very much for the feedback. I bet you that you do not even need EncodeURL because there's absolutely nothing in (/control) that can be encoded. With kind regards, Michel
  2. apostolakisl, to your point, we got a DOE grant for rooftop diagnostics. We used the same ISY framework and there's an algorithm running there that's pretty complex taking baselines for 3 weeks, applying multiple transformations to arrive at few diagnostics points such as: the filter needs changing or the fan is not running at optimum speed, or the unit is overheating or over-cooling. Pretty sophisticated stuff. In short, automation is what ISY has been designed for and can be utilized in any type of application that has events, actions, and analysis. GuitarBuilder, thanks so very much! With kind regards, Michel
  3. Hi Dick, Yes, you are on the last official release for 99 (3.3.10) and your UI is the last beta UI build for ISY. With kind regards, Michel
  4. Hello everyone, As you are all aware, one of the cornerstones of ISY is "autonomy". Actually, we coined ISY's design philosophy AAA: A- Autonomy A- Agnostic A- Automation That's why we were not very keen in developing APIs that go to the cloud. i.e. if hackers can steal 100 million credit card numbers from Target, it's not really far fetched to think that they could also hack into Nest's servers or any other cloud based system for that matter. It's pretty easy to change one's credit cards but I suspect it's not very easy to change one's residence. I must say that we were pretty bemused by the acquisition NOT because NEST is bad (I think it's an excellent little gadget) or that it's not worth $3.2B, but because it's totally the opposite of what we envision a home controller/brain should be. As such, we will continue with our current approach of Autonomy and Independence!!! With kind regards, Michel
  5. Hi Chuck, No, the same URL should work regardless. Can you please let me know what you are getting? If you are on MAC, admin.jnlp goes into the download folder and you have to explicitly double click it. With kind regards, Michel
  6. Hi Big517, Thank you and those are already included in 5.0. With kind regards, Michel
  7. Hi Chuck, Sincere apologies. Please use #2. With kind regards, Michel
  8. Hi guys, I am so very sorry. Two choices: 1. Upgrade to 4.1.2 (viewtopic.php?f=25&t=13338) OR 2. Use http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i/4.1.2/admin.jnlp With kind regards, Michel
  9. Thank you ferdies. I played with it and sent you an email with my results. It seems that all the GETs work and none of the POSTs work even though you get a success status. With kind regards, Michel
  10. Hi Big517, On some of them you cannot simply because it requires an explicit query from ISY to get the status change. On others that report their status, we are working on a solution to provide you with Control (just like the Door Locks). With kind regards, Michel
  11. Hello all, I strongly recommend upgrading to 4.1.2: index.php With kind regards, Michel
  12. Hi shannong, First of all, I am by no means an expert so my suggestions are based mostly based on my experiences and subjective. 1. I do not think you need any Access Points simply because the RemoteLincs work in every location of the house. This is especially true IF you take the RL and go as close to the PLM as possible and see if it still covers all your devices spread out through your house (of course controlled by RL). The exception is #2 2. I have seen best performance when phases are bridged (either by Access Points or dual band devices) very close to the breaker panel and close to each other. This way, phases are bridged with on RF hop to one another 3. Unless you have only a handful of devices in a very large house, most communication issues are noise related and not signal strength related 4. In a lot of cases, the location of the PLM is instrumental. If you have it plugged into the same outlet as all other electronic equipment, rest assured that you are going to have some type of noise and communication problems 5. Transformers AND "electronic" low voltage lights (not the magnetic ones) are pretty much the biggest source of noise 6. Baby monitors, older INSTEON thermostats, SwitchLinc v35s can definitely cause problems With kind regards, Michel
  13. Hi mfranzel, Welcome! If Status 'KPL NightTime' is not off Then It's best to actually review: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... e#Programs With kind regards, Michel
  14. Hi guedesluz, Use a free dynamic dns solution. This way, you will access ISY using a name instead of IP. With kind regards, Michel
  15. Hi ferdies, correct. Please send to support@universal-devices.com. And, if you can put your thermostat on the Internet, I can test it remotely. With kind regards, Michel
  16. Hi chrsb, You basically need bluetooth to http (-> REST/ISY). With kind regards, Michel
  17. Hi Dennis, Yes, indeed should have been
  18. Hi guedesluz, Of course. You can either do File | Enable Internet Access OR you can create port forwarding rules manually: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... PnP_Router Manual port forwarding is much more reliable. With kind regards, Michel
  19. Hi Eric, No problem at all. We should have 4.1.2 out shortly which would address setting the backlight to zero. I think it would be best to wait till you have 4.1.2 before any other type of experimentation. With kind regards, Michel
  20. Correct! Or, basically any two protocols including Zigbee + Z-Wave but NOT INSTEON. With kind regards, Michel
  21. Hi Dennis, Please try customized content and change the encoding to HTML. This means that you can do something like: What you ever you want here In this case, is break. With kind regards, Michel
  22. Hi modex, I do not think you have purchased the correct unit. ISY is an INSTEON/X10/Zigbee (and lately Z-Wave) controller. You can use network resources to communicate with devices on the network. This said, the focus is INSTEON and Z-Wave. Do you have a PLM attached to ISY? If so, can you tell me what you get when you go to Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Info/Status? With kind regards, Michel
  23. Hi modex, I am not sure what you mean. Many have used GC100 with ISY: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... che_GC-100 The main question is not integration with ISY but whether or not the equipment you are trying to communicate with require IR vs. Serial. With kind regards, Michel
  24. huddadudda, Is it at all possible to ask Ubi for integration with ISY? We are completely maxed out with our resources and cannot possible integrate with every little gadget that comes out. Especially since our focus is on things like thermostats (NEST and Venstar) and Z-Wave. With kind regards, Michel
