Hi John, I am so very sorry for all the problems you have been having lately with Java/Admin Console. I also wanted to respond to your comment vis-a-vis JQuery: you're correct and we'll surely consider once persistent browser/server connections are more prevalent (otherwise, Admin Console has to keep querying ISY). As far as the problem you are having, may I humbly suggest opening a ticket and scheduling a call. This way, we can log into your computer and address the issue immediately. With kind regards, Michel

Hello ffpllc, I am so very sorry to hear. At this point, I strongly suggest you contact our tech support team so that we can schedule a call and figure out what's going on. I think you have already waited too long for a resolution. With kind regards, Michel

Hi jwilliams, I am so very sorry for tardy reply as I do not work on Saturdays. Let me see if I get your configuration correctly: 1. You have two routers one is connected to the modem and the other is connected to ISY 2. The communicate via Ethernet If above is the case, then it's quite possible that either one of your routers does NOT allow traffic through for IP addresses outside those it has served up. This is for security purposes and very much depends on the router itself. I did have WRT54GL a long time ago and it certainly did NOT let traffic through. So, what is the other router and which one is connected to which? I am sure we'll figure out the optimum configuration so that you have static IP AND ISY can get out to the Internet. With kind regards, Michel

Hello doubler11563, I am so very sorry for all the troubles you have been having and specifically apologize for not having gotten back to you. I have gone through all tickets and I do not see you there. Please send an email directly to me and I will make sure you are taken care of: tech@universal-devices.com. With kind regards, Michel

jwilliams, Please note that if you have setup your ISY with a static IP address, some routers might NOT like to allow ISY to get to the internet because the IP was not provided by them. The best test would be to go back to DHCP. If you are sill having problems, PLEASE contact our support (below) as I am sure this must have become too frustrating. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Xathros, It's stored in Java temp directory. So, if you clear Java cache or your system clears the temp, it goes away. With kind regards, Michel

Re: Release 3.3.10 (RC7) Is Now Available
Michel Kohanim replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Hello all, thanks so very much for your support! elvisimprsntr, Ah, thank you. That's certainly a bug; the problem is that ISY is multitasking and, in most cases, it's very difficult (but not impossible) to pin down the task from which the error originated. So, currently, we have a class called LastError. All it does is to collect the last two errors from any tasks. What you are seeing are those errors. In short, this has to be fixed. With kind regards, Michel -

Hi fitzpatri8, The scene issue is UI related and in a part of the code that would have made regression testing a huge task. Hi Jim, I do very much understand your concerns and it's precisely because of these concerns that we do not take beta releases lightly. Even though this cycle has become strangely prolonged, with all honesty, I cannot fathom a day when our own internal testing, regardless of the number of hours/testers, would produce better quality code/product. The reasons are quite simple: 1. This community is passionate for making things better 2. The sheer permutation of all different devices, their firmware revisions i1/i2/i3, different PLM versions makes it extremely difficult (if not impossible) to manage "full" regression testing internally In summary, I want to thank the community again and again and a million times for your invaluable help and support without which ISY would not be what it is now. Hi elvisimprsntr, Please note that N/A, Request Failed, and all those errors you see could be completely normal depending on the device you're trying to communicate with. For instance, some might not respond at all and thus timeout. Some might respond with a status code not in 200 range. The best way to test would be to look at your error log and look for -140xxx error codes (http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index ... r_Messages ) . Once you have the exact error codes, and if you still have any questions, send the error log to support@universal-devices.com. With kind regards, Michel -
Radiant Heat thermostat I can control with the ISY
Michel Kohanim replied to arw01's topic in ISY994
Hi Alan, Max range for ZWave is about 200ft. Best practices for ZWave suggests 6 to 8 devices to make a complete mesh. There are very many cheap GE ZWave dimmers/appliances that you can use as your repeater/mesh. With kind regards, Michel -

Michel Kohanim replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Hi JMC, Yes, you can use the event viewer. This said, if you have not already done so, please upgrade to 3.3.10. With kind regards, Michel -
Hi ffpllc, Yes, that's what I mean. I think if you upgrade to 3.3.10, it might solve the problem. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hi mitch236, All you have to do is to click the Add button and then enter the Remote URL for your ISY. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hi Xathros, Yes, level is 1 when you open Admin Console/Event Viewer up. It goes back to zero when you close the Admin Console. The level is global. So, if you had your Admin Console up, changed the level to 0, then opened another admin console/event viewer, then the level would be one till that one is closed. With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.3.9 (RC6) Is Now Available
Michel Kohanim replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Hi Bill, yes, of course! With kind regards, Michel -
Hi Xathros, Yes, you will see those as long as you have Event Viewer on level 3. Those are http calls and not UDP/UPnP and thus we didn't want them filtered. With kind regards, Michel

Hello everyone. I do apologize for all the beta releases. We had a long discussion to decide whether or not we should release yet another beta. At the end, the thermostat scene issue became the only driver for this release. ELA, you can always call our tech support and have us walk you through all the details of Java. With kind regards, Michel -
Hello ffpllc, Thank you. We did fix an issue with thermostat scenes in 3.3.10. If you have not done so yet, please install 3.3.10, remove the thermostats from the scene and then add them back. With kind regards, Michel

Hello all, I am happy to announce the availability of our 3.3.10 (RC7) release! For a list of changes, please take a look at this post. This is a very minor release fixing minor bugs. IMPORTANT If you have not already done so, please upgrade your Java to 1.7.11: viewtopic.php?f=44&t=10409 . Know Issues - None Things to test: - List in 3.3.7 - List in 3.3.8 - 2xx error code returns by a client to Network Resources should not cause an error - Thermostat scene issue Important Information 1. Important Brultech module is no longer supported on ISY99 Series. Please contact sales@universal-devices.com for options 2. Important NetBios removed from ISY99 Series. You can no longer access ISY by going to http://isy on Windows 3. Important If you have a 994, you will need to re-install a certificate. Please review ISY994 Series Advanced Network Security Configuration for more information. 4. Important We have removed SSLv2 support (very insecure) from ISY99/ISY994. Unfortunately, the only protocol supported by MAC with Java 1.6 is SSLv2. As such, you MUST upgrade your MAC to Java 1.7.11 (Software Update) 4. Please note that Safari does not support SSL session reuse and thus might take an exorbitant amount of time to communicate with ISY. As such, when using 2048 bit SSL, it's best not to use Safari. 5. If you are using the Irrigation Module and are upgrading from releases prior to 3.1.5, you must edit the programs using Irrigation variables and save the programs again. Irrigation module is no longer on promotion 6. Upgrading from 3.1.3 and below: If you are using WeatherBug Module's Rain Today in your programs, please note that the precision has changed from 1/10 to 1/100 and thus your programs might not run properly 7. For a discussion of variables, please look at our Program Variables forum. Instructions: 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY). If you are backing up a 3.1.6 system, please note that the backups are corrupted. If you have a backup from prior releases, you should be OK 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 99i Series ISY 994i Series ISY 994i Z & ZS Series 3. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 4. Choose the file saved in step 2 5. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache 6. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. Enable Java Plugin: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/di ... rowser.xml b. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application c. http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/3.3.10/admin.jnlp d. Disable Java Plugin: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/di ... rowser.xml Please note that both methods above should install an icon on our desktop which should be used instead of using a browser to access ISY. Dashboard - http://isy.universal-devices.com/99i/3. ... board.jnlp 8. Please backup your system again Thanks and with kind regards, Michel

Problem setting up ISY. Red error led and possible buzzing
Michel Kohanim replied to SEJeff's topic in ISY994
Hello SEJeff, I am so very sorry to hear. I do not think you are doing anything wrong. There are two issues which are probably independent of one another: 1. Not being able link to iMeter Solo and LampLinc 2. ISY falling off the network with some blinking lights Since #2 sounds quite serious so, let's concentrate on that. The first thing I recommend is to look at your ISY's Tool | Error Log and search for IP Conflict. If you see one, then: 1. If you have a NetGear or Linksys router, please upgrade the firmware since they do both have dhcp reservation problems 2. Look for other devices on the network for the same IP address If you do not see IP conflict, please send your error log to support@universal-devices.com. With kind regards, Michel -
