Venstar 1700 versus 1900 ISY controls
Hello Orest, It's normal and it's a function of the dongle and not the thermostat itself: if you have V1 thermostat, then you will only get one node. If you have V2, then you will get two nodes. I think you have a V1 dongle and, if so, you might want to get it upgraded to V2. With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.8.14 Is Now Available
Hello k7zpj, Thank you. I assume 17.F8.08 is your 2477D, correct? If not, please do make sure you do not have any devices with 0101 green icons. If so, then please go to Link Management | Advanced Options and make sure you are on Automatic. If that also fails, then try querying the 2477D making sure you can communicate with it. With kind regards, Michel

Relase 2.8.13 Is Now Available
Hello ELA, 1. Yes, ISY's IP address may change if it's set to DHCP and if the router decides to give it a new IP address 2. Java keeps cache of downloaded applets and applications. In most cases, you do not need to clear Java cache but if you have your browser open, the cache will not get cleared and thus you might be using the OLD Admin Console 3. The options to get to ISY are not equal: a. Those with http://your.isy.ip require you to KNOW your ISY's IP address ... The Admin Console will not seach for an ISY b. Those from our website will search your network for an ISY so you do not have to know the IP address c. Those with .jnlp are applications so you do NOT need to have the browser open all the time d. In the case of Windows, you can use http://isy on your LOCAL network to find ISY If you still cannot get to the Admin Console, please call our tech support so that we can take care of it as soon as possible. With kind regards, Michel

HANG while updating devices
Hello chillow, The problem is that one (or more) of your devices are out of synch with ISY and ISY is trying to synch with them (writes all pending changes to the device). Please take a look at your device tree (to the left) and look for any green 0101 icon. Disable those and see if there's an improvement. If there's an improvement, then we have to figure out why ISY has a hard time communicating with those devices. With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.8.14 Is Now Available
Hello Jeff, Thanks so very much for the link to your company. I am sure a lot of people (including us) will find it quite valuable. Now, as far as the KPLs not reporting the correct status, would you be kind enough to do a scene test on the scenes to which these KPLs belong. I do not think rebooting ISY is what's fixing the problem but perhaps it's changing the behavior of the system since, upon start up, ISY will query all devices. If the problem is only related to scenes involving KPLs, Scene Test can help you identify where the problems are. With kind regards, Michel

Relase 2.8.13 Is Now Available
Hello ELA, Sincere apologies for tardy reply. Not found means that your firewall is blocking UDP packets. This could happen if ISY's IP changed when rebooted. Please make sure to clear your Java cache and retry. Also, when you are done, I strongly recommend upgrading to 2.8.14. If you are still having problems, please contact our support and we'll take care of it for you. With kind regards, Michel

Hello all, There was intermittent interoperability issue with Dual Band SwitchLinc devices . This release addresses this issue. If no problems are found, this should be our last beta release Things to test: 1. Dual Band SwitchLinc deivces 2. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY) 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 99i Series: http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... 2.8.14.zip 3. Important Due to invalid Java certificate chain in releases 2.8.5 and above, please make sure to remove all Universal Devices certificates from Java: a. Close all browser sessions b. Open Java Control Panel (Java Preferences on MAC) c. Click on the Security tab. Remove all Universal Devices certificates (on MAC, click on the '-' button at the bottom) e. How to Enable Internet Access
Hello JeffatSRF, Apologies for the inconvenience. File | Enable Internet Access depends on your router to have UPnP enabled. It seems that your router does not have UPnP enabled and thus all the issues. In all cases, though, it's best to configure remote access manually by creating a port forwarding rule in your router. Please follow the instructions here in the Wiki: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... PnP_Router If you are still having problems, please do not hesitate to contact our tech support team to schedule a call and we'll help you enable remote access. With kind regards, Michel

Remote access problems
Hi Jay, To answer your question, there are a list of TCP ports that are known for other applications and UPnP (the protocol that lets your computer find ISY in the network) is very picky. So, port 80 is for HTTP, 443 is for HTTPS and so on and so forth. If you want to change your ISY's port, make sure you use a number that is NOT in the list below: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_TC ... rt_numbers OR, at the minimum, use numbers above 2000. With kind regards, Michel

ISY not updating ELK status, ELK changes DO update ISY!

HANG while updating devices
Hi Orest, Apologies for tardy reply. Whatever you do, do NOT factory reset nor should you take any ohter drastic measures. Can you tell me the status of the LEDs on the front of the unit when this happened? Basically, there can be two explanations: 1. Lost network connectivity to ISY 2. ISY is way too busy to handle your request With kind regards, Michel
