  1. Hello apostolakisl, One comment on the Delete vs. Remove: As you may have already gathered, user input is very important for us and is usually implemented especially if it's something trivial and non-intrusive (just look at the enhancement section of each release: all those with numbers are user requested features). All you have to do is submit a request. With kind regards, Michel
  2. Hello all, Release 2.8.5 RC1 is now available. Although this firmware has been tested thoroughly, please note that this is still a beta firmware. Please do be kind enough to : 1. Test Linking/Adding Devices/Creating and/or Modifying Scenes and Adjusting Scenes within programs 2. Observe any type of network anomaly 3. Checkout UI enhancements and fixes For a list of changes, please take a look at this post: http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... =6475#6475 Please note that ISY-26 is no longer included in the firmware builds. Instructions 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY) 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 99 Only - http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... _2.8.5.zip 3. It is very important that you use your current ISY's Admin Console to perform the upgrade by going to your http://your.isy.ip.address/admin. For MAC users, if upgrade fails, please try https://your.isy.ip.address/admin 4. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 5. Choose the file saved in step 2 6. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache 7. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. http://isy/admin - applet (Windows only) b. http://isy/admin.jnlp - Java application (Windows only) c. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin - applet d. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application e. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.5 - applet f. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.5/admin.jnlp - Java application 8. IMPORTANT If you have already installed a self signed certificate and your current firmware is 2.7.10 and below, you must reinstall a new one: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... rtificates IMPORTANT Due to the sensitive nature of supporting MorningLinc, users now must agree to terms and conditions upon Admin Console start up otherwise the dialog keeps popping up every time the Admin Console is started. Thanks and with kind regards, Michel
  3. Hi Tome, The answer is: it should NOT! This is usually a symptom of a failing PLM and I strongly recommend getting it replaced. With kind regards, Michel
  4. Hi Wayne, Thanks so very much for your feedback. I do also see a potential for this device. This said, however, the main issue is that ISY has to know the exact property of each device/type. For instance, a security system has commands and events that ISY has to know before hand. It cannot just act on any random event. So, in essence, we have to come up with device classes that ISY supports before doing anything else with external devices. Of course, this is on our requirements list alas at a low priority. With kind regards, Michel
  5. Hello jkraus, Quite weird! The only thing I can recommend is making sure that you're close to an Access Point, open the Event Viewer on level 3, and then see the traffic. If all you see are INST-ACKs, and if your RL is in Programming mode, and if you are close to an Access Point, then I would think that you have a defective RL. With kind regards, Michel
  6. Hi art, Unfortunately not at the moment. We have multi-user authentication/authorization on our list of requirements. With kind regards, Michel
  7. Hello bushmg, Apologies for the inconvenience. Normally, the address is on a label in the battery compartment and sometimes right underneath the batteries. With kind regards, Michel
  8. Hello m_later, In addition to what LeeG suggested, you are welcome to send an email to support@universal-devices.com and we'll send you the most up to date list. With kind regards, Michel
  9. Hello rlebel, You are absolutely correct! In this case, the programmer (or, better yet, the configuration manager/builder) was ME! I take full blame for this and it shall not be repeated. With kind regards, Michel
  10. Hello jtara92101, Where do you get " Failed to connect to gateways! " ? With kind regards, Michel
  11. Hello jtara92101, I have to do more digging but, from what I remember, we had to basically add the level to the command (cmd2) in older versions. Putting 0 there would turn it off. The newer i2 versions were different but the difference was so different between differnet devices that we just left it as is. With kind regards, Michel
  12. Hello ingeborgdot, I am sure Control was meant and NOT Command (we do not have such a structure). With kind regards, Michel
  13. Hello johnnyt, We have tried so very many different ways of trying to make this consistent across platforms to no avail. At the moment, the only way to prevent ISY from interrupting other programs is to minimize it. With kind regards, Michel
  14. Hello someguy, Apologies for the inconvenience. The only thing I can think of: 1. You have an older version of 2.8.4. So, the first thing I recommend is downloading and reinstalling it again 2. Java cache ... if you have not done so, please try clearning your cache Please do keep me posted. With kind regards, Michel
  15. Hello johnnyt, Thanks so very much for the update. If the desktop does not have TrendMicro installed, then I do not think the problem is firewall. Please do keep us posted. Wtih kind regards, Michel
  16. Hi windrockwater, You do not need any other modules to use REST. For more information on the REST interface, please take a look at this forum: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=2252 With kind regards, Michel
  17. Hello windrockwater, First of all, you can have as many devices on your network using the same ports as long as they have different IP addresses AND that you are not doing any port forwarding in your router. If the above two conditions are met then do not change anything. Now, in case you want to change the ports - and as you noted - you can certainly do it via Configuration | System tab. It's always a good idea to use ports above 10000. Or, you may want to make sure it's not listed here: http://ports.my-addr.com/tcp_port_list- ... 4-7000.php With kind regards, Michel
  18. Hello johnnyt, Do you have the same issue on your desktop? I know for a fact that Trend Micro blocks ISY events if ISY is not explicitly included in the Trusted Zone. Even turning off the firewall does NOT fix the issue. With kind regards, Michel
  19. Hello apostolakis, Do you know if those that were transfered had gone through "Replace Device" or whether or not you had removed them from ISY and then added the new one back in? This was an issue with older UI but was addressed in 2.7.15. Knowing the scenario will help us figure out if this is a regression. With kind regards, Michel
  20. Hello ergodic/kingwr, There should not be any discernable performance hit having multiple programs instead of one. ISY knows which programs should be evaluated before hand and thus having two or more programs instead of one will not make a difference in performance. With kind regards, Michel
  21. Hi Steve, I just checked our records and it seems that you were not available when we called. Please do call back. With kind regards, Michel
  22. Hi Steve, You might want to try turning off user account settings on your Windows machine and retry. With kind regards, Michel
  23. Hi justin.cool, Unfortunately there's really no comprehensive guide to the Event Viewer. Unfortunately, the events shown are INSTEON traffic and thus you would have to know about INSTEON protocol. We have had this outstanding request to make the Event Viewer more English but just haven't had time. At a high level and what you should look for: 1. For EVERY INST-ACK there should be an INST-SRX ... if there's none, then you have comm errors, if you have mulitple then you will see "Duplicate, ignored" 2. INST-ACK is the response from the PLM to a command sent by ISY 3. INST-SRX is the response from the destination device back to the PLM and in response to #2 4. If you use INST-SRX only without INST-ACK, then these are unsolicited responses such as button press, motion sensor, and thermostats With kind regards, Michel
  24. Hi DevonSpring, LeeG has been kind enough to provide you with the INSTEON traffice for fade start/up/down/stop. Now, what you need to do is to use Fade Up (as a condition in your program) and then use Fade Stop to stop the program. With kind regards, Michel
  25. Hi DevonSprings, You might want to use Fade Up/Fade Down and Fade Stop. Also, in the Action, you have to use Repeat every second so that the resource is called every second while you are holding the button (till Fade Stop). With kind regards, Michel
