Hi Billy, We basically follow the APIs as provided by SmartHome to communicate with the Motion Sensors (and other devices). I really do not know what else we can do beyond conforming to specs unless the specs have changed without our knowledge. With kind regards, Michel

Hello jcthorne, Yes, 2.7.15 should support IRLinc TX as long as you have the older firmware version in the IRLinc TX. The new firmware does not work. If you are having difficulties linking your IRLinc TX, please send an email to support@universal-devices.com and we'll hook you up with SmartHome personnel who can downgrade your firmware. With kind regards, Michel

New ISY-99i "Start Linking" button doesn't link
Michel Kohanim replied to kaplansa's topic in ISY994
Hello kaplansa, I am so very happy that you are happy! Yes, the finder should stay there as long as the Admin Console is there. The function of the finder is that you can add remote ISYs and thus not have to remember IP addresses/URLs when you are remote. With kind regards, Michel -
New ISY-99i "Start Linking" button doesn't link
Michel Kohanim replied to kaplansa's topic in ISY994
Hello kaplansa, Apologies for a tardy reply. First of all, your PLM was in fact in linking mode but the linking mode is only active for 4 minutes. I think we have other problems here mainly something in the computer (i.e. firewall software) is blocking evenits coming from ISY. That's the main reason why you were stuck in the linking mode. Since your PLM shows connected and since you could actually put it in linking mode via ISY, I would have to conclude that the PLM is OK. The first thing I would do is to check the firewall on your computer to make sure that either ISY is in the white/trusted list/zone OR that it's not being blocked. Secondly, sometimes firewall software may ignore a Java application in situations where they block a Java applet. In this respect, would you be kind enough to try the following link instead: http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/admin.jnlp And, if all else fails, please do not hesitate to contact our tech support team to schedule a live call. Our hours of operation are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Pacific Time. With kind regards, Michel -
isy99 not sending the same on/off as an insteon device?
Michel Kohanim replied to gjfrater's topic in ISY994
Hello craigf, If you are testing momentary C, then the IOLinc must be in a scene with a controller. I am not certain how else you can test. Furthermore, please ensure that you have the latest firmware for the IOLinc. The older ones reported the status of the relay for the sensor. With kind regards, Michel -
Hello mdimas, The best would be to use: If From 5:40:00AM on 2010/09/21 To 5:40:00AM on 2020/09/21 Then Repeat Every 48 hours Set 'Living Room Lamp' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.8.2 Beta is now available
Michel Kohanim replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Hello rlrjupiter, I am so very sorry for the inconvenience. First of all, once you agree to the terms and conditions, your agreement is stored in ISY and no longer would the Admin Console pop up the dialog. Now, No Network means that during the process, ISY was trying to renew the lease on your router and it failed. Sometimes this happens but it should not impact anything else. As far as adding MorningLinc, please do be kind enough to use the third option (import existing links). In all likelihood, your morninglinc has already been added to ISY. If you wish, you can remove it, make sure it's linked to the door lock and then redo the process making sure you choose the third option. As far as MobiLinc, that's a question for MobiLinc forum and unfortunately I do not know the answer. With kind regards, Michel -
Hello johnnyt, Your explanation is accurate. You can clean up the device database by: 1. Put your Motion Sensor in programming mode 2. Right mouse click on the Motion Sensor and then choose Restore Device With kind regards, Michel

Hi Dan, Unfortunately not. This is especially the case if you setup port forwarding manually in which case ISY would not even know what your external IP address is. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello ML, First of all, thanks so very much for your interest. Secondly - and as much as we would want to make more money - I really think that: a. You do NOT need the PRO b. You do NOT need the IR version since you already have an IRLinc And, finally, you can always upgrade to IR and PRO online in case you decide to go that way. In short, start with the basic model and then you can decide if you need PRO and IR based on your experiences. I leave TouchSwitch questions to Burak. It would be best to post your touchswitch questions in the TouchSwitch forum. With kind regards, Michel

Hello fuzzersteve, So, basically, you can get to ISY using direct IP but it cannot be discovered, correct? As much I as know this is not a hardware issue, please send an RMA request to sales@universal-devices.com and we'll send you a replacement. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello fuzzersteve, Thanks so very much for the update. I must say that I do not think factory reset is actually fixing the issue. I think factory reset is simply making your ISY use DHCP ... are you changing the network settings from DHCP to something else after factory reset? Now, Not Found means that the Admin Console sent a discovery message on the network and didn't get anything back. Now, since you can use the Add function and connect directly, it means that ISY is accessible via the network but just NOT discoverable. Would you be kind enough to let me know what firewall software you have? Also, is it possible to put your ISY in the white/trusted list in your firewall? And, finally, please DO NOT factory reset your ISY the next time this happens. Instead, please go to Configuration | System tab and make sure ISY is on DHCP. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello fuzzersteve, Thank you! This specific error means two things: 1. Either the firmware was not installed properly 2. Something is wrong with the SD Card Would you be kind enough to try and install 2.8.2 firmware ( http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=5037 ) by using the following URL: http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/admin.jnlp If you are still having issues, please contact our tech support team so that we can pinpoint the problem. Rest assured that we'll either find the problem or send you a replacement unit. With kind regards, Michel

Weird question maybe - Don't even know how to refer to it
Michel Kohanim replied to wpmjones's topic in ISY994
Hello wpmjones, My pleasure but now that you have provided some history, I am wondering if there's a link between the two: is it possible that the outlet/circuit to which the PLM/PLC are connected has problems? Also, can you verify that indeed you do NOT have any links in your PLM? With kind regards, Michel -
Hello fuzzersteve, Thanks so very much. Can you tell me whether or not you are using static IP address for your ISY or if you have made reservations in your router. Factory reset does change the network settings (i.e. goes back to DHCP) so we need to see how you have setup your networking. With kind regards, Michel

Weird question maybe - Don't even know how to refer to it
Michel Kohanim replied to wpmjones's topic in ISY994
Hi, the main question is what do you have in your PLM. If you have no link records in your PLM (or if they keep disappearing) then there's surely something wrong with the PLM. With kind regards, Michel -
Hello wpmjones, It seems that your PLM has NO records (Tools | Diagnostics | Show PLM Links Table). Is this a new PLM? If so, I strongly recommend getting it replaced. With kind regards, Michel

Hello dougos2, Thanks so very much for the update! With kind regards, Michel -
Hi fuzzersteve, I understand but, unfortunately, we do not have enough information to figure out what's causing the issue. Please do be kind enough to let me know: 1. By factory reset, what are you actually factory resetting? ISY? PLM? The switches? All? Any combination there of? 2. What do you mean by losing contact? You cannot find it on the network? What URL do you normally use to access your ISY? The more information we have the higher the likelihood of finding the cause. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Mark, From ISY, turn the container scene on/off instead of InlineLinc. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello marklin77, What you need to do is to put ALL devices that control the InlineLinc, AS CONTROLLERS in the same scene. This way, all controllers are cross linked with one another and their status follows each other. With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.8.2 Beta is now available
Michel Kohanim replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Hello dougos2, This is quite strange: if the event viewer shows that ISY actually receives device statuses, then the program MUST be evaluated as soon as the events are received. Two questions: 1. In Program Summary tab, can you please ensure that all your programs are enabled? 2. For those programs that you are having issues, please a. Check the last run time, last finish time columns b. Turn on/off a device to cause a program to run and then check the last run/finish times With kind regards, Michel -
Hi Eric, Unfortunately there's no way to feed this data back to ISY. This just gave me an idea ! I have to think about it a little ... With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello fuzzersteve, If the only way to get the system to continue working is factory reset, then I suspect that you have a program in there that's causing an infinite loop. Would you please disable all your programs are retry? With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello wpmjones, All controller type devices, if linked properly to ISY, SHOULD report their status when you turn them on/off. Did you always have this problem or is it something new? Do you have this problem with ALL your controller devices or only the ToggleLinc? Have you tried Restore on that device? With kind regards, Michel
