Intermittent device status
mjtyson, That's precisely what it was!!!! Release 2.7.15's Java certificate has expired and, for some reason, there were two certificates in the same store. Normally, this should not cause any problems but, then again, we are talking about MAC here!!! All releases after 2.8.0 have the new certificate which should last us for another 3 years. With kind regards, Michel

Missing https in ISY finder
mjtyson, ISY finder only shows the HTTP address as it's found on the network. You can always add the HTTPS address by clicking the add button. I do not know whether or not you remember, but that's precisely what I did (Add button). With kind regards, Michel

If you wish, you can download the files and save them. With kind regards, Michel

Using 2 Separate Controllers in One System
tpolito, I assume HAL is using the PLC in monitor mode (that's why it's seeing the traffic). Unfortunately, I do not think this is going to be reliable (as per SmartLab's specs). fitzpatri8, Once we have more time, we'll look into it. With kind regards, Michel

Hello all, Release 2.8.7 RC4 (Code Freeze) is now available. Although this firmware has been tested thoroughly, please note that this is still a beta firmware. Please do be kind enough to : 1. Test programs especially those that activate notifications 2. Test notifications 3. Test network resources 3. Test stability and observe any type of network anomaly 4. Checkout UI enhancements and fixes For a list of changes, please take a look at this post: http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... =6475#6475 Notes: 1. ISY-26 is no longer included in the firmware builds 2. Code Freeze means that except for sever bugs, no other fixes and enhancements shall be implemented Instructions 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY) 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 99 Only - http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... _2.8.8.zip 3. It is very important that you use your current ISY's Admin Console to perform the upgrade by going to your http://your.isy.ip.address/admin. For MAC users, if upgrade fails, please try https://your.isy.ip.address/admin 4. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 5. Choose the file saved in step 2 6. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache 7. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. http://isy/admin - applet (Windows only) b. http://isy/admin.jnlp - Java application (Windows only) c. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin - applet d. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application e. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.8 - applet f. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.8/admin.jnlp - Java application 8. IMPORTANT If you have already installed a self signed certificate and your current firmware is 2.7.10 and below, you must reinstall a new one: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... rtificates IMPORTANT Due to the sensitive nature of supporting MorningLinc, users now must agree to terms and conditions upon Admin Console start up otherwise the dialog keeps popping up every time the Admin Console is started. Thanks and with kind regards, Michel

Release 2.8.7 (RC3) Is Now Available
Hi junkycosmos, 1. Please make sure that the on level for your device is greater than 0 (that's the difference between on and fast on) 2. If this is a load sensing device, make sure you have a load attached 3. If all fails, try a Restore on it Please note that Wait is interruptible so if the status of the light changes to off during any of the wait commands, then the program stops. With kind regards, Michel

Power flickered - ISY having problems
Hi Chris, Please go to Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Status/Info. If it shows disconnected, then your PLM is gone bad and therefore ISY is in Safe Mode (you do not see your programs). With kind regards, Michel

Intermittent device status
Hello mjtyson, What you are experiencing has nothing to do with the ISY/INSTEON side of things and a lot to do with ISY/Computer side of things. As such, please do not factory reset as it's not going to solve the problem. This is how ISY works: 1. The Admin Console subscribes to ISY 2. ISY publishes all events back to the Admin Console 3. In case ISY cannot communicate with the Admin Console, then it expires the session and you will see -5011 and -5012 in the log/error log Please note that on MAC, clearing Java cache sometimes requires reboot of your computer. Please do the following and report back: 1. I know you have cleared your Java cache, but please do so one more time: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache 2. Reboot your MAC 3. Try the following URL: http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/admin.jnlp Looking forward to hearing back from you soon. With kind regards, Michel

Access from Web Has Stopped Working
Hello Niccolo, In addition to the great suggestion from fitzpatri8, if you are using UPnP to do port forwarding, it's quite possible that your router gave ISY a new IP address and could not update the port forwarding rules. It's always best to setup port forwarding manually by either giving ISY a static IP address or DHCP reservation. For more information, please checkout: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... o_Your_ISY With kind regards, Michel

Splitting up isy & Dual-Band PLM
Hello Jay, Per specifications, the max length for an RS232 signal is 50 ft. I think it would be best to figure out why your PLM is not communicating when in your living room. With kind regards, Michel

Intermittent device status
Hello mjtyson, In addition to suggestions from LeeG, may I humbly suggest checking your firewall software ensuring that ISY is in the trusted zone/white list? For a list of firewall remedies, please peruse this forum: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewforum.php?f=3 With kind regards, Michel

Network Module \r \n
Hello io_guy, The actual might not show the \r\n since they both do line feed in Java. Do the programs still work? i.e. the most important question is whether or not the \r\n is sent on the wire. With kind regards, Michel

Web Page Time Out
Hi Teken, The Admin Console served from the portal (/99i/version/admin.jnlp) is an application. They are identical to the Admin Console served from ISY. The only difference is that: 1. It tries to find your ISY on the network if you are local 2. It allows you to enter the IP address of all remote ISYs so you can get to them by just clicking on their entry (i.e at your office) 3. You do not have to download the application from ISY all the time. This is quite useful especially if you are on a low bandwidth connection and remote 4. In case, your unit crashes (therefore no more application on the SD Card), then this is the only way you can get to your ISY and restore it In short, this is done mostly for performance reasons when you are remote. Otherwise, it's the same exact code as served by ISY. With kind regards, Michel

Web Page Time Out
Hello Teken, Please see my comments below. With kind regards, Michel No. ISY logs you out in case it cannot communicate with you Yes You can have up to 10 concurrent sessions (such as Admin Console, MobiLinc, Conductor, etc.) without worrying about anything Which web interface are we talking about? The simple HTML one?

Electricity tab?
Hello wwat, We are going to work on some more detailed information. Teken, We'll do our best and I, personally, totally understand where you are coming from. With kind regards, Michel

Electricity tab?
Hi Teken, Adding wattage per node is still on the table. The reason it has low priority is because we added the Brultech energy monitoring capability which is much more accurate and can handle seven channels. With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.8.7 (RC3) Is Now Available
Hello jeffwild1, Thanks so very much for trying. As far as I remember, the only good 2412 PLMs were v63 and v85. This said, and as LeeG suggested, we are dealing with RF issues. Before doing anything else, we have to figure out why the signal is not getting too far from your PLM ... i.e. ignoring the Motion Sensor issue (which is a different problem), why aren't the signals reaching your RF devices if they are far? Why aren't the access points or other dual band devices repeating the signal? When we answer these questions, then we can decide what to do with the PLM. With kind regards, Michel

Scene Test Question
Hello Teken, Yes, ISY turns the scene off or, better yet, it simply sends an OFF command and waits for all the devices to report back with their Clean up messages. Which drop down box are we talking about? If you are talking about the Event Viewer level, then please leave it at the first level and do not change it. With kind regards, Michel
-
Scene Test Question
Hello Teken, Scene Test basically uses the least amount of hops to make sure your ISY can communicate with the members of the scene. i.e. if Scene Test succeeds, then rest assured that all your scene commands for that scene will succeed. On the other hand, if they fail it does not mean that your scenes will fail but that the likelihood of failure is much higher depending on the INSTEON network state. Please note that if you have any programs that may work on the same devices while the scene test is running, you will not have accurate testing. So, it would be best to disable all your programs before doing Scene Test. Also, it's always better to turn on the scene before doing the test. With kind regards, Michel
