Is there a tutorial for setting up custom notifications?
Michel Kohanim replied to mjtyson's topic in ISY994
Hello mjtyson, Thanks so very much. Currently I am on 2.8.8 using my MAC and everything seems to be working fine. The main question is why is your Java going to 2.8.7 and not 2.8.8? Which URL are you using to access your Admin Console? With kind regards, Michel -
Hello smurt, Unfortunately we have not heard back. The main issue is that we cannot reproduce the problem here but it has been reported multiple times even with other controllers. I will send an email again. With kind regards, Michel

Is there a tutorial for setting up custom notifications?

Hello mjtyson, This is really odd. Clicking on the second field does not bring up a dialog for you? I really do not know what to say ... can you copy and paste the contents of the Java console ... perhaps there's an exception that would point to the cause. With kind regards, Michel -
tpolito, This usually indicates signal loss. If you have any SwitchLinc v35s, then rest assured that those are the cause! Otherwise, we'll just have to figure out why signals are lost (Access Points?). With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.8.8 (RC4 - Code Freeze) Is Now Available
Michel Kohanim replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Hi apostolakisl, How many other sessions did you have open? There's one subscription that is active; I just want to make sure if this is the same as your Admin Console or if you have another client such as MobiLinc, etc. With kind regards, Michel -
using scene test in scenes where everything isn't on
Michel Kohanim replied to apostolakisl's topic in ISY994
Hi Lou, I am so very sorry ... I misunderstood your question. That's a really tough one! I am really not sure what the impact is. The only reason we turn the scene on is to make sure the problem is NOT load related. So, perhaps we should make that process manual again. With kind regards, Michel -

Hello Teken, The first post has to do with your browser not supporting XML viewing. The second post, well, I am not sure why you would get that when you at least got something before. With kind regards, Michel -
using scene test in scenes where everything isn't on
Michel Kohanim replied to apostolakisl's topic in ISY994
Hello apostolakisl, Based on your input, now the scene test turns everything ON before sending the OFF command and wait for responses. With kind regards, Michel -
jcanter, I would remove some of your access points and see what happens to the system as a whole. We did have reports of communication issues when there were too many Access Points and one (or more) were acting up. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Guys, We will take a look at the double folder issue. As far as the Admin Console remaining open, I will have to test but now ISY does a lot more things to make sure network connections remain active including periodic check on DHCP status and network link. So, the main question is whether or not anyone of you is on a wired computer and not wireless? When this happens, would you be kind enough to go to http://your.isy.ip.address/rest/subscriptions to see a list of subscriptions. Is there at least one that has not expired? With kind regards, Michel -
Hello MatthewInOK, Apologies ... yes, for sure. The first thig is to go to Java Properties, under Security, remove all certificates belonging to Universal Devices. Once you are done with that, clear your Java cache, and finally: 1. Either install 2.8.8 OR 2. Use the following URL to access your ISY: http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.7.8/admin.jnlp With kind regards, Michel

Is there a tutorial for setting up custom notifications?
Michel Kohanim replied to mjtyson's topic in ISY994
Hello mjtyson, Still working on the documentation! 1. Make sure you have recipient groups under Configuration | Emails & Notifications | Settings/Groups 2. Go to the Customized Content tab, create a new record by clicking the Add button 3. Click on the second column called Customized Content 4. For the subject and body, you have three choices -- a. Choose from the options in Alert drop down and Common drop down. Alert has variables pertaining to the email when it is initiated by Programs such as the device that triggered the event. Common has system wide veriables -- b. Type in the text you want in the subject and the body -- c. Combination of above 5. In your programs, choose Notify then choose the recipient and then the content Please note that if subject and body are blank, no notifications are sent. With kind regards, Miche -
Moshe, You will have to subscribe (watch this topic) on this post: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=930 With kind regards, Michel

Hello matapan, Are you sure the fan state every worked in 2.7.15? That would be really odd since there are no APIs to query thermostat's fan state: what you see is what ISY knows about! So, if you or anyone else goes and changes the mode, ISY would not know about it and thus the UI will not be updated. The program tab issue is Java Cache related. With kind regards, Michel -
mjtyson, That's precisely what it was!!!! Release 2.7.15's Java certificate has expired and, for some reason, there were two certificates in the same store. Normally, this should not cause any problems but, then again, we are talking about MAC here!!! All releases after 2.8.0 have the new certificate which should last us for another 3 years. With kind regards, Michel

mjtyson, ISY finder only shows the HTTP address as it's found on the network. You can always add the HTTPS address by clicking the add button. I do not know whether or not you remember, but that's precisely what I did (Add button). With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.8.8 (RC4 - Code Freeze) Is Now Available
Michel Kohanim replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Hello gogogadgetscott, I am so very sorry to hear that. This should have not happened since all previous notifications should have been migrated. May I ask what was your original firmware version before upgrading to 2.8.8? EddyK, Would you please provide more details as far as what you are looking for. Trend is a Java program. If you wish, you can download the files and save them. With kind regards, Michel -
tpolito, I assume HAL is using the PLC in monitor mode (that's why it's seeing the traffic). Unfortunately, I do not think this is going to be reliable (as per SmartLab's specs). fitzpatri8, Once we have more time, we'll look into it. With kind regards, Michel

Hello all, Release 2.8.7 RC4 (Code Freeze) is now available. Although this firmware has been tested thoroughly, please note that this is still a beta firmware. Please do be kind enough to : 1. Test programs especially those that activate notifications 2. Test notifications 3. Test network resources 3. Test stability and observe any type of network anomaly 4. Checkout UI enhancements and fixes For a list of changes, please take a look at this post: http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... =6475#6475 Notes: 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY) 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 99 Only - http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... _2.8.8.zip 3. It is very important that you use your current ISY's Admin Console to perform the upgrade by going to your http://your.isy.ip.address/admin. For MAC users, if upgrade fails, please try https://your.isy.ip.address/admin 4. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 5. Choose the file saved in step 2 6. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache 7. Release 2.8.7 (RC3) Is Now Available
Michel Kohanim replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Hi junkycosmos, 1. Please make sure that the on level for your device is greater than 0 (that's the difference between on and fast on) 2. If this is a load sensing device, make sure you have a load attached 3. If all fails, try a Restore on it Please note that Wait is interruptible so if the status of the light changes to off during any of the wait commands, then the program stops. With kind regards, Michel -
Hello mjtyson, Please do be kind enough to contact our tech support (http://www.universal-devices.com/contact.htm or by phone 818-631-0333) and we'll log in to your computer to see what's going on. Apologies for the inconvenience. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hi Chris, Please go to Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Status/Info. If it shows disconnected, then your PLM is gone bad and therefore ISY is in Safe Mode (you do not see your programs). With kind regards, Michel

Hello mjtyson, What you are experiencing has nothing to do with the ISY/INSTEON side of things and a lot to do with ISY/Computer side of things. As such, please do not factory reset as it's not going to solve the problem. This is how ISY works: 1. The Admin Console subscribes to ISY 2. ISY publishes all events back to the Admin Console 3. In case ISY cannot communicate with the Admin Console, then it expires the session and you will see -5011 and -5012 in the log/error log Please note that on MAC, clearing Java cache sometimes requires reboot of your computer. Please do the following and report back: 1. I know you have cleared your Java cache, but please do so one more time: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache 2. Reboot your MAC 3. Try the following URL: http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/admin.jnlp Looking forward to hearing back from you soon. With kind regards, Michel
