Error message "Error Discovering Nodes. Retry!"
Hello ML, Apologies for the inconvenience. What firewall software do you have? Some of the symptoms (especially having to sign it twice) are symptomatic of firewall issues on your computer. You might want to take a look at this forum: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewforum.php?f=3 If all fails, please do not hesitate to contact our tech support team. With kind regards, Michel

Hello johnnyt, Do you still have Java cache disabled? If so, please do enable it. Also, what type of firewall software do you have running on your computer? With kind regards, Michel

-11022 Couldn't open file...
Hello again jtara92101, I strongly recommend getting your V35s replaced. From past experience I can tell you that most, if not all of the communications issues will disappear when these units are no longer in the network. To test my hypothesis, simply pull the set button out on these 4 switches (so that they are offline) and retry your tests. With kind regards, Michel

-11022 Couldn't open file...
Hello jtara92101, Whooah ... I am so very sorry to hear. Yes, indeed quite symptomatic of V35 SWLs. On the bright side of the coin, you should feel lucky that they are impacting communications with other devices. In most cases, those SWLs actually cause communications errors on unrelated and perfectly functional devices. Good luck! With kind regards, Michel

-11022 Couldn't open file...
Hi jtara92101, They are 1000000% benign and have nothing to do with the other symptoms. The reason you get those on the Admin Console is because they are the "last two errors". It seems to me that you have communications errors with your devices. Is it isolated to a few devices or to all of them? Does it happen all the time or only at certain times? Do you get any green 0101 icons? -20000 (cannot write high water mark) in combination with successing INST-ACK (PLM' ACK to our command) without an INST-SRX (response from the device) means that the PLM can NOT communicate with that device. With kind regards, Michel

why need to login twice... sometimes...?
Hello johnnyt, I am so very sorry to hear. By restart do you mean restarting the Admin Console or ISY or both? I think the best way to address this issue is to call our Tech support to schedule a support call so that we can figure out what's going on. With kind regards, Michel

Change local ramp rate on Switchlinc doesn't work
Hello jtara92101, We have changed many things but what you are experiencing is a limitation of older INSTEON devices over which we have never had any control. With kind regards, Michel

Old PLM and existing links
Hi gatchel, No problem at all! 1. Yes, you can have ISY spider your whole network 2. Please unplug the PH PLM This said, however, my personal preference (based on past experiences) is to simply start from scratch. The reasons are as follows: 1. PH is excellent for ensuring master/slave link relationships are captured correctly. But, this does not mean that the devices have the correct links. For a variety of reasons they might have 1/2 links the outcome of the importing of which into ISY will cause unexpected/unexplained behavior. It will take you longer to figure out the source of issues rather than starting fresh 2. All devices/scenes are imported by their addresses/numbers. It would take you a while trying to figure out which scene is what and which device is which. This gets even more exacerbating if you have many half links With kind regards, Michel

VenStar T1800 Triggers
Hi Will, Before concluding a defective thermostat, would you be kind enough to do the following: 1. Remove the thermostat from ISY 2. Factory reset the dongle and then make sure the thermostat is in Off mode (Mode = Off) 3. Add it back to ISY using Link Management | Start Linking With kind regards, Michel

KPL Buttons (A-D) won't trigger program using Control
Hi LeeG, I must agree with you (as always). It seems that the master links were missing in the PLM and thus no status updates. Thanks so very much and with kind regards, Michel

KPL Buttons (A-D) won't trigger program using Control
Hello jtara92101, There's definitely something very wrong either with the KPLs or the PLM (I think it's the latter). All links should be written when you add a KPL to ISY so that you would get status updates. If not - and if you do not have 0101 green icon next to it - then there's something very wrong. With kind regards, Michel

2477D Insteon Dual Band SwitchLinc Dimmer flickering
Hello jtara92101 I totally concur! Would you be kind enough to post this post in our SmartHome Channel ( http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewforum.php?f=30 ). Replace 2476D with 2477D
Hello thruster999, 1. Add to ISY the new device which is going to replace the old device 2. Right mouse click on the old device and then from the Replace with ... menu item choose the device you added in #1 With kind regards, Michel

KPL Buttons (A-D) won't trigger program using Control
Hello jtara92101, The first thing I would do is to make sure your PLM has not reached its capacity. Please do the following: 1. Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Status/Info .. please let me know what you see 2. Tools | Diagnostics | Show PLM Links Table and when complete click on the count button In short, for you to get status updates back from the KPLs, there must exist a slave link in the PLM for that specific KPL+Button combination. I think for some reason either these records are missing or are not being created. With kind regards, Michel

Replace 2476D with 2477D
Hello rlebel, Long time no see! I cannot comment on the flickers but I can tell you that ISY does support replacing a 2476D with a 2477D. With kind regards, Michel

NTP server problems
Hello someguy, In addition to the great suggestion from Tom, please also check and see if you can send any notifications. The problem might be that your router is not letting ISY to resolve domain names. If that's the case, then we have to figure out what network configuration you are using and why would it cause the problem. With kind regards, Michel

ISY stopped linking
Hello pespisjm, Please go to Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Status/Info and make sure the PLM is connected. Also, is the device trying to add RF and, if so, is it close to an Access Point? With kind regards, Michel

It works but...
Hi Traditore, You are correct ... I had completley forgotten about the limitations of IRLinc TX. I think you are on the right path and your programs seem solid. With kind regards, Michel

It works but...
Hi Traditore, Is there a reason you do not have the KPL button as a controller in the scene itself (instead of using programs)? With kind regards, Michel

VenStar T1800 Triggers
Hi JP, Thanks so very much for the update. I can tell you from experience that SWL v35s do in fact contribute A LOT to instability in INSTEON network. The first thing I would do is replace those and then we can address other issues as they arise. With kind regards, Michel

"New Program" adds to Summary but not Detail Page
Hello johnnyt, Just one comment: on 64 bit Windows machines, you need to install both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Java. With kind regards, Michel

VenStar T1800 Triggers
Hi JP, From experience I can tell you that there are basically just a very very small fraction of situations wherein signal issues cannot be solved. Do you know or have any feelings as far as where the source of line quality issues are? The point is that if you have line qualitiy issues, perhaps the signals do not even get to the AP to be sent out. With kind regards, Michel
