Pricing question for ISY99i
Mr. Sullivan and Gary, Thanks so very much for your input and you are 100% correct: we do not charge for INSTEON compatibility enhancements. Wayne, We are doing our best to support SimpleHomeNet devices. This said, however, we have had a lot of technical difficulties. With kind regards, Michel

New ISY owner needs some help!
Hello Rich, I think the best thing to do is to leave your PLC in there for now. 1. Plug in your ISY 2. Plug in your PLM 3. Add devices to your ISY You can add devices into ISY in two ways: 1. Link Management->Start Linking and then tap link all your devices (I recommend starting small) 2. Link Management->New INSTEON Device in which case you will have to know the address of your device In both cases, you would want to choose the first option (remove existing links) as this will reduce a lot of problems down the line. Also, if you run into any questions/issues, please call our tech support line and we'll walk you through it. With kind regards, Michel

Event Viewer Module Info as address instead of label?
Hello Illusion, No, this is no Illusion! We never did put node names in the event viewer. But, this is surely something we have to do. With kind regards, Michel

Backup fails and other corruptions
Hi Randy, Do you have an older backup of your system? I think your file system is corrupted (for some reason) and we will have to do one of the following two things: 1. Format the file system, reinstall 2.6.8, and restore your backup OR 2. If you wish, you can send it to us and we can restore your back up for you The main question is: do you have a recent backup of your system? With kind regards, Michel

New ISY owner needs some help!
Hi Rich, The main idea behind ISY is an affordable, self contained/standalone, web based, remotely accessible energy management system. This is not limited to lights only. ISY is accessible from any mobile device including Windows Mobile since the mobile interface is 100% HTML (no Java). Due to the complexity of what we do in the Admin Console, we would have to use a rather thick client be it Java, ActiveX, Air, SilverLight, etc. With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.6.11 is now available
Hello again jamesx0, I did some testing and I still couldn't reproduce it. This said, however, I did reproduce the problem whereby some devices have the wrong status after a long query. This leads me to believe that these two bugs are one and the same: in all likelihood, one of the devices in the condition has the wrong status (after the query) and thus the condition becomes true. The next time this happens, would you be kind enough to check the Log and make sure that at least one of those devices was reporting On? This has been fixed in the next release. With kind regards,

Release 2.6.11 is now available
Hi Burak, I think the problem was that the module was not getting updated with correct information. Please do keep us posted. With kind regards, Michel

New ISY owner needs some help!
Hello Rich, As you pointed out, ISY cannot do speech or work "directly" with wireless X10 devices. We do not yet have any plans to support either of these technologies. With kind regards, Michel

Weather Bug
Hi C Martin, Excellent. WeatherBug module is $49.00 and it's a module which communicates with WeatherBug servers. All you have to do is to find the closest station to you and then use the weather parameters in your programs. The firmware is 2.6.5 with all the new 99is. You will have to upgrade to 2.6.11 (or hopefully our official 2.7) when you receive the unit. And, yes, just back up your ISY-26 and restore it on to your 99i PRO. With kind regards, Michel

Frustrated w/ISY99 PRO IR
Hello frustratednon-geek, I do apologize for the inconvenience and we'll do our best to make you into a happynon-geek. Do you press the Save button when you are done with your programs? If you see Green arrows on the program names, then they are not saved and thus they are not going to execute. Now, as far as resetting everything, you don't really have to. All you need to do is to choose the first option (Remove existing links) when you add your INSTEON devices. This should wipe out all the links you already have. And, finally, perhaps a short call with our tech support might be an easiest way to get you back on track. With kind regards, Michel

Weather Bug
Hi C Martin, Do you have ISY-26 or 99i as this is only available for 99i. And, which URL are you going to? With kind regards, Michel

Weather Bug
Hi C Martin, This has already been implemented in 2.6.11 and, therefore, no longer do you have to use a flag: you can use rain information directly in your ISY programs to turn on/off your sprinklers. All you have to do is to go to Help->Purchase Modules and you can buy and install the module instantaneously. I like the idea of a new forum for WeatherBug. With kind regards,

Release 2.6.11 is now available
Hello all, thanks so very much for all the input: Ruben and RLikwartz: Yes, this has been verified and fixed. Illusion We never fixed this issue. It has been added to our bug list and we'll take care of it. jamesX0 Would you be kind enough to elaborate a little more or send me one your programs that are causing the problem? I just created a very simple program: If Status ceiling is not on Then Send notification to all It's behaving as it should: as long as the status does not change, the Then part does not run. Thanks again, With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.6.11 is now available
Hi all, apologies for mixing all the responses into one post: Gary F. Sleeping is very boring. Why would I want to do that instead of the experiencing and enjoying the exhilaration of developing for and testing i2 devices? Jon Yes. Please do install 2.6.0 which is actually a minimal version of 2.6.11 so that you would have enough memory to install the actual 2.6.11. Gary B. Thanks so very much for letting me know about the bug where ISY shows the incorrect status (on instead of off). It shall be investigated immediately. We have not been able to get EZIO to work but didn't want to postpone the drop. We are still working on it. Jim H. Thanks so very much for the update. With kind regards, Michel

ISY/ELK and Insteon question
Hi Wayne, Apologies for a tardy reply. Unfortunately, I cannot give you a firm date but I can tell you that we'll start working on it as soon as we get 2.7 out. Currently, all our efforts are exerted towards getting i2 supported and 2.7 out. Roughly, 2Q next year (or sooner). With kind regards, Michel

New ISY owner needs some help!
Hi Rich, Welcome to our world and, as you shall personally experience, we have a wonderful community who will help you get to where you want with ISY and your INSTEON equipment. In my view, the first and most important thing that you will have to understand is the concept of Scene. If you get Scenes understood, you are 1/2 way there. 1. Here is a great tutorial on Scenes ( http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... h_tutorial ) 2. And here are the instructions for creating scenes ( http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... te_a_Scene ) 3. An example for creating a three way ( http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... ay_Circuit ) When you are done with scenes, then you need to learn ISY programs. But, let's start with scenes first! With kind regards, Michel

IES Touchscreen and IR transmit functionality
Hello Wayne, All excellent questions: 1. ISY already integrates with IES. Apart from the cost of IES touch panel there are no additional costs 2. Yes, we have developed both IR out and IR in functionality If your equipment is far from ISY, then I do recommend IRLinc (input) and hopefully SmartLabs IR out. This way, you do not have to run wires from your ISY to your equipment nor would you have to buy IR extenders. With kind regards, Michel
