Release 2.6.8 is now available
Michel Kohanim replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Hi Lou, Would you be kind enough to upgrade to 2.6.9. I am certain that SH changed the category/sub category between releases (Beta and Production) and upgrading to 2.6.9 may solve this problem. With kind regards, Michel -
Hi Someguy, Please use Tools->Log to review the log. Those generated by a browser are identified as Web. Those generated by ISY are System. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Gary, Did you choose your station? When you click on Find and when you enter your city/zip, you are given a list of cities close to you. Then clicking on any one of them, brings up another dialog with a list of all stations close to you (with distances). Then, what you have to do is to make sure it's enabled and click on Save. For this to work, your ISY needs connection to the Internet which I am sure it does otherwise it wouldn't have installed the module for you. With kind regards, Michel

upstatemike, You can send me something even better: 1. Event Viewer level 2 should be on 2. Run Device Link table 3. Run ISY Link table 4. Click the switch to on and then off Please send me the logs for 1, 2, and 3 (support@universal-devices.com). With kind regards, Michel Tried it and I am getting the same result. Do you want me to send you the switch so you can observe it first hand?

Release 2.6.9 is now available
Michel Kohanim replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
Hi Jim, It will be in a new version. If the nature of the bugs are as the ones you found, we should have the final release before Christmas. With kind regards, Michel Very good Michel. I am back on 2.6.8 already. Will you just be refreshing 2.6.9? Or will there be a new version number? How will I know when it's safe to re-download? Jim H. -
Hi to_lighter, The process is done when you get a dialog saying ISY will reboot. This is very odd. Are you local to your ISY (on the same network)? Or, perhaps it might be due to a lower Java version on MAC. Would it be possible to try this on a PC with Java 1.6.5 (or above)? With kind regards, Michel

Hello FLBoy, Yes, it's possible that this is a bug. Would you be kind enough to go to Tools->Generate Topology and look at all the addresses in the address column? Let me know if you find your motion sensor's address in the topology. With kind regards, Michel -
Release 2.6.9 is now available

Hi Jim, I verified the problem and it shall be fixed immediately. In the meantime, querying the switch reports back the right value. The ramp rate, though, does not take. With kind regards, Michel -
Hello upstatemike, You will have to remove and reinstall your SWL. Furthermore, please do a factory reset on it before adding it back. With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.6.9 beta is now available and may be downloaded immediately. For fixes and enhancements, please peruse our beta forum at http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=930. You may also post your comments/questions and issues relating to 2.6.9 to this forum. IMPORTANT This release provides i2 support which, although tested thoroughly, but still constitutes an extremely major change to the code base. This in combination with unreliable i2 packet handling by some INSTEON devices (such as KPL Relays) may contribute to intermittent problems. As such, if you have a stable environment and do not need the i2 functionality, please do not install this release. Bugs - SWL V35 ... On level and ramp rate are not adjustable - Status goes back to 1% when the device is turned on locally. This may impact some of status based programs IMPORTANT 1. For those upgrading from release 2.6 --->Please note that releases 2.6.1 and above will use default HTTP/HTTPS ports of 80/443 respectively. As such, before upgrading Disable Internet Access --->You will have to upgrade to release 2.6.5 ( http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=1409 ) before upgrading to release 2.6.9 --->If you are upgrading from 2.6.1, please make sure you export all your programs and store them in a safe place 2. If you have used bookmarks, please update them accordingly. If you have problems finding ISY, try http://www.universal-devices.com/99i 3. As always, please take a backup of your ISY Due to massive [plumbing] changes in this release, please do be kind enough to thoroughly test i2 related issues such as not receiving status feedback from i2 devices. INSTRUCTIONS - Userid = isy - Password = autoupdate - For ISY-26, download the update from http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... nsteon.zip do not unzip - For ISY-99i Series, download the update from http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... nsteon.zip do not unzip - Login to Admin Console - Choose Help->Manually Upgrade My Lighting and choose the file you downloaded in the previous step - Important: After upgrading, please close Admin Console, close all web browser processes, clear your Java cache, and reopen Admin Console. If there are any web browser processes running, the Java cache will not be cleared.

Hello FLBoy, In Add Insteon Device dialog, are you explicitly choosing the Motion Sensor? If not, that's precisely what happens since first, ISY tries to read the database and then tries to do an IDReq which fails (MS does not return its identity!). Also, please make sure your MS is in programming mode. For the ones that I just received, the process is: press and hold the set button for 5 seconds. With kind regards, Michel -
Hello to_lighter, This process should take less than 2 seconds. First of all, please do NOT forward port 80 to your ISY since all traffic to your ISY can be sniffed and repeated by a hacker. Only forward port 443. As far as your SSL certificate, I suspect two things: 1. You HAVE TO be local to your ISY to install the certificate (you are not allowed to do it remotely for security reasons) 2. Perhaps you did not accept the Java certificate for The Legions of Bounty Castle. As such, please: a. Close all your browser windows b. Control Panel -> Java -> Security -> Certificates c. Remove all your certificates Retry and let me know. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Joe, Unfortunately not at the moment but I am sure as we add more modules, one will surely implement one. With kind regards, Michel

az1324, As per your instructions, the following code was implemented in April of this year. I am not sure why it does not work: p+="meta name=viewport content=width=320; initial-scale=1.0"; //for safari/iphone p+="meta name=format-detection content=telephone=no"; // For safari/iphone prevent showing times as phone #'s Would you be kind enough to verify that you are NOT actually getting these tags in your iPhone (is there such a thing as view source?). With kind regards, Michel Thanks, it works. Is there a way to adjust the zoom. It zooms to much now. A simple viewport tag would fix the zooming issue and has been suggested for months.

Hello FLBoy, Apologies for the inconvenience. Is the Motion Detector the only device that your Admin Console does not recognize. Please also note that SH decided to change the category/subcategory of the motion detectors between the Beta and Production releases. Is this motion sensor one you just received or is it from the old Beta days? With kind regards, Michel -
Release 2.6.8 is now available

Hello to_lighter, Thanks so very much for the topology. I can now imagine what could be causing the problem: two switches. In the next release, there's an option in the shell which makes ISY less sensitive to UnAcked packets. I think what's happening is that some of the packets are not Acked as ISY expects them to be and thus the client/session is dropped. With kind regards, Michel Thanks Michel, As mentioned above, I have a bunch of Macs with Apple's Airport wireless basestations providing wireless coverage, connected together on an ethernet backbone. I don't know what Network Magic is. I don't have any special software running to facilitate networking. My network is complicated, but a simplified version for this discussion is as follows: {Laptop} --WiFi n--> {Time Capsule Wireless Router} --ethernet--> {gigabit switch} --ethernet--> {gigabit switch} --ethernet--> ISY 99i For the desktop the diagram is similar, except there is no wireless component, the desktop is plugged into the first gigabit switch. Cheers! P.S. I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your quick responses. I've never seen tech support like this in many years of technogeekery. Well done! -

Hello to_lighter, Thanks for the update but this is quite unusual. Would you happen to have Network Magic installed anywhere in your network? Recently, we have been getting a tremendous amount of issues relating to Network Magic (http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... highlight= ). With kind regards, Michel -
Hello Paul, If you want to integrate with ELK, please make sure: 1. you have version 5.1.4 of ELK (5.1.8 has a bug) 2. the future flag is set for all the imported devices With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello copperstar, Thanks so very much for the update. That's precisely what we are encountering here: it works once in a while. We still haven't been able to figure out the secret code which makes ISY configure EZxx correctly all the time. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello PaulMVincent, Two questions: 1. Do you have an ELK installed/integrated with ISY? 2. Are these KPLs version 1.5 or 1.6? With kind regards, Michel

Hello to_lighter, I do apologize for the inconvenience. If possible, please send us your ISY's URL (supprt@universal-devices.com) and we'll try to diagnose remotely. With kind regards, Michel -
Hello Michael, I think the problem is your PLM: ISY cannot reliably communicate with your devices. Have you contacted our tech support for help? If not, I do recommend a short call with Darrell. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello copperstar, My pleasure. We are currently testing IOLinc and it seems to be reliable. There will also be TriggerLinc in January. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello Steve, If you can give us remote access to your ISY, perhaps we can try and debug remotely. If you would like, send your URL to support@universal-devices.com. With kind regards, Michel

Hello jdva, This is excellent information and you are 100% correct: if we can make it even a little more iPhone friendly, then it would be great. One request: would it be possible for you to send us a static page (with devices and scenes) and with the parameters you used to get the desired effects? Then, all we have to do is to check for the user agent and present the same structure. I would sincerely appreciate it. With kind regards, Michel
