jswedberg, First and foremost, please DISABLE the port forwarding on port 80 immediately. This is a security risk as others can sniff your credentials. Please only use HTTPS (port 443) for remote access. File->Enable Internet Access attempts to do what you have already done (automatically). As such, you are all set; please do not worry about File->Enable Internet Access. With kind regards, Michel

bdlhome, Thanks so very much for the feedback. It means a LOT. With kind regards, Michel

d_l, Thanks so very much for your input and guidance. keribi, I am so very sorry for the trouble you are having. For ISY-26, the cable is not a null modem cable. It's a special cable ... you do not have it? If you can get to the Admin console, then it means that you are on the same subnet 255.255.255.0 but not on the same network ... so, the only way to fix this is through the com port and hyperterminal: Baud 115200 Stop bits 1 Parity None Databits 8 If you cannot find your cable, please do let us know and we'll send you one (support@universal-devices.com). With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.6.5 is now available (RC4)

clark21236, Thanks so very much for the update. The reason is that most firewall software do not complain about normal ports such as 80/443. With kind regards, Michel -
how can I use the isy-99 from an external control program
Michel Kohanim replied to schenkl's topic in ISY994
Hello schenkl, You can use our JSDK and WSDK (web services) to write network applications that talk with ISY over the network. JSDK is pretty well established, is in Java and is released with each official release. WSDK is ISY services in WSDL, is brand new, and the first version of which shall be released in a couple of days. If you have specific questions vis-a-vis developing applications for ISY, please do be kind enough to visit our developers forum: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewforum.php?f=2 . With kind regards, Michel -
keribi, This is quite strange! 1. Would you be kind enough to clear the Java cache on your laptop? 2. Would you please make sure you do not have ports 443 or 80 routed to any other device on your network With kind regards, Michel

Hello Candide, As far as Managed By, it only means that they are both controllers for the same scene. But, they are not linked to one another (since they are controllers only). As far as the blinking, would you make sure that all the devices in your scene respond? It may well be possible that one (or more) of devices in your scene (button 3) are not responding and thus the blinking. With kind regards, Michel

Hello keribi, Can you access ISY through http://www.universal-devices.com/27? With kind regards, Michel

Hello keribi, What version of ISY firmware are you running? With kind regards, Michel

clark21236, Thanks so very much for the update. Is this now working on all your computers? Also, please note that this issue will also impact how you save programs. As such, please make sure you can save/update your programs. With kind regards, Michel -
alfatud, 99i is powered through the PLM. Is this the only reason that you would like to upgrade to 99i? With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello MARosen, Yes, that's what I meant. The main issue is that you are running a client on you computer to track ip changes; what happens if your computer is off? You should surely look at/configure that section in you router since your router is always on and thus you will not depend on your computer. With kind regards, Michel

Hello clark21236, That's very strange! The http://www.universal-devices.com/27'>http://www.universal-devices.com/27 basically uses the applet from our website rather than the applet from ISY. Please do try your laptop but I am sure you are going to have more problems with your laptop because of NOD32. One more option is: when you clear your Java cache, please make sure ALL OTHER browser windows are closed (both IE/Firefox). With kind regards, Michel -
Thanks so very much Zellarman ... We have had many issues reported with SignaLincs ... I do not think you will have the same issues with APs. Have you tried replacing/upgrading your SLs with APs? With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello Zellarman, Thanks so very much for the update. Are these SignaLincs or AccessPoints? With kind regards, Michel

Hi aLf, The reason that your ISY does not automatically come on line after you reboot your router is that you are running 2.6.0 ... this is solved in 2.6.1 and above. Of course, this does not solve the reason why your router goes off line ... time for a new router, perhaps? With kind regards, Michel

jcthorne, Yes, the local address will change with the update from 1.0 to 2.6.1+ ... please make sure you clear your Java cache and try: http://www.universal-devices.com/27 (99i is for 1.0 release) For security reasons, you cannot get to ISY's home page without first logging in. With kind regards, Michel -

MARosen, I am so sorry to hear this. NO ... we have already set everything up using static IP address and Dynamic DNS (I hope) and, thus, no longer do you need to do File->Enable Internet Access (ever). If you are having issues with saving files, make sure your computer's firewall is not the culprit. Are you using Dynamic DNS? With kind regards, Michel

bbabaa, Each command to INSTEON network requires 8 bytes. For simple commands, this process should not take more than 500 m.s. in good conditions. For restoring devices, please note the following: 1. Each record is 8 bytes 2. You need three commands to write/read one byte into the link db Therefore, reading/writing each record should take between 10 to 12 seconds. With the introduction of I2, this process will be much faster as you would only need to send one command and write all the 8 bytes. With kind regards, Michel

jcthorne, Please do keep us posted. I suspect that not only your PLM has quit but also the new version of KPL Relay may have had the same issue as we used to have with KPLs. As such, I would sincerely appreciate all the input you can provide us. With kind regards, Michel
