Initial Feeback
@MWareman, Thanks so very much for the update and feedback: 1. Polyglot username is not the same as the OS username. We are hoping that no one has to get to the OS/SSH (except for the geeks) 2. Letsencrypt definitely in our plan 3. Setting hostname is part of the UI (for which we held up the release) 4. Not being to upgrade poly should be resolved soon. We ran into some permission elevation issues (polyglot use does not have permission for many things and we don't want to use root). And update should be available this week and you can update Polyglot using the command: sudo pkg update polyglot 5. Reboot will be done from the UI and will not require sudo. But, from the shell, you need sudo simply because, otherwise, we will lose audit trails 6. Getting SolarEdge is unexplainable. Please do be kind enough to send your UUID to support@universal-devices.com With kind regards, Michel

Recently lost the ability to expose Node-Server based nodes
Hi @gviliunas, Which node server is this? With kind regards, Michel

Polisy ship date?
@larryllix, I sure hope so and, in combination with node servers, that's the plan: to allow integration of novel UI components. But, that's a little farther down the line. @Bumbershoot, You are 99% right! The OS is lean (we have removed a lot of things that we do not need or didn't make sense for our application). And, we developed our own package manager so that we can use regular FreeBSD commands to update/upgrade packages + an update server so that we can upgrade the whole OS (thank you @xKing). All this said, we debated using Jails (like Apple) vs. giving customers elevated permissions. We opted for the latter since, even Apple is having a hard time managing or preventing jail breaks. And, with our limited resources (compared to Apple/Google), we felt that we would be spending more time managing the jails rather than focusing on the application. Of course, as things progress and the nature of support calls, we may opt to completely block this feature or have configurations that do not allow elevated permissions. With kind regards, Michel

Confused :-O Polyglot Cloud appear to run, but no nodes?
@gordonp, I am so very sorry to hear. The first thing I recommend is to send your error log to support@universal-devices.com along with your UUID. Also, please note that if you have both port forwarding and ISY Portal, in most cases, the router will have problems especially if you have also forwarded both TCP and UDP to ISY. With kind regards, Michel
-
Polisy ship date?
@apostolakisl, Yes, and provided that your router supports DNS records (based on hostname), you can simply go to https://polisy:3000. This said, however, we may change the default port to 443. With kind regards, Michel

Polisy ship date?
Hi All, Pretty much everything is ready except for the Admin interface to configure IP/WiFi settings (and it won't be in Java!). So, if you are a geek and don't mind ssh, ifconfig, and unix, please send an email to sales@universal-devices.com with the subject "Include Me In Polisy Geek Batch" and we'll ship it to you by the end of next week. With kind regards, Michel

How to get Mobilinc out of ISY to free up the portal
@BoomerangThree, 1. No, Polisy does not require ISY Portal 2. In some respects but not entirely. MobiLinc has excellent notifications which ISY Portal does not have. On the other hand, you need ISY Portal for PGC which MobiLinc does not have. I let Wes describe more of the MobiLinc features 3. Not really. You can easily switch between the two online and at any time: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page#Instructions_for_Purchase.2FActivation.2FDeactivation With kind regards, Michel

@Bumbershoot, We are looking into it. With kind regards, Michel

Motion Sensor Odd Behavior
@jgcharlotte, That's absolutely abnormal. You might want to remove from ISY, factory reset, relink and retry. With kind regards, Michel

Keypad 2334-2 missing LED Brightness button?
@arzoo, all INSTEON buttons have unique IDs. And, programs are based on IDs. So, programs that depend on those IDs will continue to work. With kind regards, Michel

Polisy ship date?
Hi @Blackbird, Yes, we start shipping on 10/17. This said, due to the large number of units to be shipped, and your number in the queue, you might receive it a little later (30 days max). With kind regards, Michel

Smart Meter just installed, need a little info
@Mustang65, Congrats! The first thing you need to do is to figure out whether or not Duke allows connection of HAN devices. If it does, then - and unfortunately - just because something is Zigbee does not mean that it supports other Zigbee things. And, therefore you will either need to replace your Zigbee board (in ISY) with this one or buy another ISY with Zigbee SEP installed. With kind regards, Michel

ZIGBEE Smart Meter Module Down?
Hi Leon, Yes, I am quite concerned because another utility here in CA is considering abandoning the HAN side of things. From my perspective, it would be a waste of billions of $. But, the counter argument is that the Smart Meters do still support remote meter reads by the utility and thus the investment in AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) is not wasted. I still do not see any value in Green Button except for historical validation and profiling services (which still need something to read real time energy info from the breaker). With kind regards, Michel

ZIGBEE Smart Meter Module Down?
Hi Leon, Agreed. It's quite a shame since, in the 21st century and moving toward more dynamic pricing structure, having access to real time energy information is a must. I suspect they just wanted to get rid of thermostats and appliances. Would you mind asking them whether or not they would also discontinue supporting IHDs (In Home Display) as it was not specifically spelled out. ISY is pretty much an IHD from the Smart Meter perspective. With kind regards, Michel

How can i trust this? Missing sensor showing fine!
@lilyoyo1, thank you and well said (regardless of your fan-status). @madcodger, it's not up to ISY to figure out a sensor has been unplugged. If this is SO important to you, and as @lilyoyo1 suggested, the solution is very simple: 1. Make a query that queries your sensors (making sure you know that you are going to drain its battery) 2. Make a program with Responding condition such as If Control 'My very important sensor' is not responding Then Whatever you think it's important With kind regards, Michel

ZIGBEE Smart Meter Module Down?
Hi Leon, Ah, finally. That's what I was looking for! There are two things of note: 1. SMT 2.0 -- it seems that they are disconnecting Smart Meters from the Home Area network. This means that your ISY will no longer connect to the meter (it's like a smart appliance) 2. The email with regard to access to data, please note that I suspect this is Green Button data which is ALWAYS 24 hours behind and, at best, 5 minute interval (usually 15 minutes or longer) So, the first thing I suggest you do is to see whether or not I am wrong with regard to #2 and Green Button. If I am wrong, then there's still hope to create a node server that connects to their APIs in the cloud. With respect to #1, I guess they will have to keep you connected if you request it. With kind regards, Michel

What are the plans for the ISY? redux
@LaymansPC, Most everything you have reported above works and you don't need to upgrade the Z-Wave dongle. With kind regards, Michel

What are the plans for ISY?
@LaymansPC, Need more clarification on statements such as "or simple support for new Zwave devices". What's not supported? With regards to the pace, we do not release anything unless we are ourselves 100% convinced of its stability. So, the pace is not going to change. With kind regards, Michel
