@jgcharlotte, That's absolutely abnormal. You might want to remove from ISY, factory reset, relink and retry. With kind regards, Michel
-
@arzoo, all INSTEON buttons have unique IDs. And, programs are based on IDs. So, programs that depend on those IDs will continue to work. With kind regards, Michel

Smart Meter just installed, need a little info
Michel Kohanim replied to Mustang65's topic in ISY994
@Mustang65, Congrats! The first thing you need to do is to figure out whether or not Duke allows connection of HAN devices. If it does, then - and unfortunately - just because something is Zigbee does not mean that it supports other Zigbee things. And, therefore you will either need to replace your Zigbee board (in ISY) with this one or buy another ISY with Zigbee SEP installed. With kind regards, Michel- 6 replies

Hi Leon, Yes, I am quite concerned because another utility here in CA is considering abandoning the HAN side of things. From my perspective, it would be a waste of billions of $. But, the counter argument is that the Smart Meters do still support remote meter reads by the utility and thus the investment in AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) is not wasted. I still do not see any value in Green Button except for historical validation and profiling services (which still need something to read real time energy info from the breaker). With kind regards, Michel

Hi Leon, Agreed. It's quite a shame since, in the 21st century and moving toward more dynamic pricing structure, having access to real time energy information is a must. I suspect they just wanted to get rid of thermostats and appliances. Would you mind asking them whether or not they would also discontinue supporting IHDs (In Home Display) as it was not specifically spelled out. ISY is pretty much an IHD from the Smart Meter perspective. With kind regards, Michel

How can i trust this? Missing sensor showing fine!
Michel Kohanim replied to madcodger's topic in ISY994
@lilyoyo1, thank you and well said (regardless of your fan-status). @madcodger, it's not up to ISY to figure out a sensor has been unplugged. If this is SO important to you, and as @lilyoyo1 suggested, the solution is very simple: 1. Make a query that queries your sensors (making sure you know that you are going to drain its battery) 2. Make a program with Responding condition such as If Control 'My very important sensor' is not responding Then Whatever you think it's important With kind regards, Michel -
Hi Leon, Ah, finally. That's what I was looking for! There are two things of note: 1. SMT 2.0 -- it seems that they are disconnecting Smart Meters from the Home Area network. This means that your ISY will no longer connect to the meter (it's like a smart appliance) 2. The email with regard to access to data, please note that I suspect this is Green Button data which is ALWAYS 24 hours behind and, at best, 5 minute interval (usually 15 minutes or longer) So, the first thing I suggest you do is to see whether or not I am wrong with regard to #2 and Green Button. If I am wrong, then there's still hope to create a node server that connects to their APIs in the cloud. With respect to #1, I guess they will have to keep you connected if you request it. With kind regards, Michel

What are the plans for the ISY? redux
Michel Kohanim replied to LaymansPC's topic in Official News and Announcements
@LaymansPC, Most everything you have reported above works and you don't need to upgrade the Z-Wave dongle. With kind regards, Michel -
What are the plans for ISY?
Michel Kohanim replied to LaymansPC's topic in Official News and Announcements
@LaymansPC, Need more clarification on statements such as "or simple support for new Zwave devices". What's not supported? With regards to the pace, we do not release anything unless we are ourselves 100% convinced of its stability. So, the pace is not going to change. With kind regards, Michel- 1 reply

@Techman, Sincere apologies for the inconvenience. That's explainable: our notification mail server got hacked last week, 1000s of emails were sent from alerts@universal-devices.com to some unknown email addresses around the world. So, we had to install a spam protection program (Spam Assassin) which checks headers, bodies, IP/email addresses (for blacklists) before letting messages go through. If you think your notifications are missing: 1. You can send your <from> and <to> email addresses to support@Universal-devices.com and we can make sure they are whitelisted (regardless of header/body). But, this gets into privacy issues and not a preferred method 2. Use a dummy gmail account for your ISY Notifications With kind regards, Michel

Hi Javi, Attached, is the updated version. Wtih kind regards, Michel 4_fam.xml
-
Hi @Javi, Thank you. Looking into it. With kind regards, Michel
-
Thank you both for the details. The fact that ISY automatically rejoined means that the only thing they might have done, was a reboot. If they factory reset the dongle, then you would have had to go through the whole registration process again. So, I suspect some of these Zigbee modules may require a reboot after a while. With kind regards, Michel

@winksaville, We already responded to your ticket. ISY994i supports INSTEON and you will need a PLM (2413S) for it to work otherwise it goes into safe mode and nothing will work. ISY994ZS PRO is for Smart Meter communication only. During the checkout, you have the option of adding Z-Wave or INSTEON support. But, if you choose neither, it will still work. So, if you don't have any INSTEON, you MUST get ISY994 ZS PRO. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Leon, I will definitely keep you posted. As far as I remember, Oncor filed an advice letter with PUC to get rid of having to support the HAN side of the smart meters. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Leon, Thanks so very much for the update. About a year ago, there were rumors that TX (and Oncor) were removing all funding/resources for the HAN side of the Smart Meter. Perhaps the rumors are true? With kind regards, Michel

@JLOB, As per @Chris, you just have to query the sensor node (if the battery node is not there). With kind regards, Michel
-
@JLOB, I apologize. I confused this with MSI. I'll ask and get back to you. With kind regards, Michel
