  1. Just a check in. I've had a few 'reads' on my amazonforum posting with no answers. I know its not been long but when you're used to a forum like this where members answer almost immediately you get spoiled. I'm at a loss as to where to start as far as trying to get this achieved. Part of my problem is I never programmed Alexa or ISY or anything to respond to me saying pause apple tv or play apple tv. I just said it one day and it did it. My point to this is I cant go in and change anything to make the wording specific to what I want. I did make an Alexa routine when I first got the app etc, when I say Turn On Apple TV Downstairs, the lights downstairs go to my pause tv scene as the gear turns on. Upstairs would be no problem for this either. My problem remains that pause tv and play tv seem to control both or 'the other' tv set up. I had discovered this before and agree. I also agree with DaveStLou in that you have to be exact in your enunciation. And that some words confuse her still. I have a library and when I programmed the phrase "Turn On Library" she said it didn't support that. When I changed library to Book Room she was fine with that. (Further to oberkc's idea that some words and phrases are reserved) I'm still plugging away and if I come up with some sort of solution I'll post here. This has to be possible for the fact that I can tell her to turn the gear on and she can also trigger a scene. Drew
  2. Hi oberkc I only have one harmony hub. I control four devices upstairs and four devices downstairs via the 2.5 mm plugs on the back each going to a connecting block for the IR blasters. that being said thank you for that bit of knowledge as I was wondering if I wanted to add more devices And if I should buy another harmony hub. I will look around for an Alexa forum.
  3. Hi lilyoyo Thank you for that. I figured it was a question for an Alxa forum but I wanted to try here first. Any good Alexa forums you can suggest? Drew
  4. Probably not the best way to start a post but let me apologize ahead of time if this is convoluted. (If this isn't appropriate for this forum and I should go to an Alexa forum please let me know.) I have two apple tv's, one upstairs and one downstairs. They're controlled by voice commands (Alexa) via Harmony Hub. When I tell Alexa "Pause Apple tv", or "Pause Apple TV downstairs" or "Pause Apple TV Upstairs" it only pauses the downstairs apple tv if both are on. If only one or the other is on "Pause Apple TV" works for either. (Same goes for "Play APPLE TV") What I was hoping for before I discovered this issue is was to be able to say "Pause Apple TV Downstairs" and have the downstairs apple tv to pause and have the lights brighten slightly. and "Play Apple TV Downstairs" and have the lights dim to the movie setting scene and the apple tv to unpause. Drew
  5. It looks like its all fixed. (sorry for not replying sooner) Thank you
  6. I'm not sure I understand what to do. This is what I have. <node flag="128"> <address>A D9 29 1</address> <name>Big Room KPL-A-Sconces</name> <type>1.12.44.0</type> <enabled>true</enabled> <deviceClass>0</deviceClass> <wattage>0</wattage> <dcPeriod>0</dcPeriod> <startDelay>0</startDelay> <endDelay>0</endDelay> <pnode>A D9 29 1</pnode> <ELK_ID>D10</ELK_ID> <property id="ST" value="0" formatted="Off" uom="%/on/off"/> </node> The address above is the correct address for the KPL button I don't know what ELK is as I only have INSTEON stuff. Do I change the <type>?
  7. I hope I've done this correctly That's what I get.
  8. I'm not sure what you mean by /rest/nodes/
  9. Hi Benoit Sorry for the delay. I little snowy here on the weekend. Spent more time on the tractor than usual. I've been going through my Portal and noticed most devices are listed as Contact Sensor. I've changed some of them to Light but stopped to get this post up. So far the ones marked Thermostat are two KPL A buttons. Under Alexa Category, all devices give me a drop down menu except those two KPL buttons. Drew
  10. I just noticed this now. I don't have a thermostat (one of the new ones) so I'm perplexed. I tried to remove the device from the portal and re add it. It automatically pops up as a thermostat. Any help would be great. Drew
  11. I decided to make a few scenes with varying brightness. Alexa is triggered by the phrases "Turn on Great Room 50%" etc the spoken phrases are in the Isy Portal exactly as Great Room fifty percent.
  12. No problem. The scene is called Great Room. Not 50%. I ask Alexa to turn on great room 50% Larry, I’m not sure what you mean. I don’t have any colours.
  13. Thanks for the fast reply. I went through the portal and changed it to a light and when I ask it to go to 50% she turns it on 100%. If I ask her to turn it on 30% she shut it off. Am I missing something? I made sure to update it in the Alexa GUI.When I get home from work I may remove it from the Alexa GUI and re-add it to see if that works. When I get home from work I may remove it from the Alexa GUI and re-add it to see if that works. Any other suggestions in the meantime?
  14. Hi guys, I've made a scene with a few lights. Its in the Portal and Alexa. I have it controlled by a KPL button as well When I ask Alexa to turn on the scene 50% she said "X Scene doesn't support that" after a few times she just started saying 'okay' but she'll either turn the scene on or off, no % in between. Can I not turn on a scene a certain percentage?
  15. Works perfectly. thanks again guys. Drew
  16. That totally makes sense. I’ll try it when I get home from work and post again thanks for the tip
  17. I'm sorry, I misunderstood what you meant as far as controls etc. (I wasn't thinking turning a switch on would be a control but it clearly says it in the program I pasted) Should I just make a Routine in Alexa? I Always try to get the ISY to do everything first as its tidier that way (I'm assuming) Drew
  18. No status or controls. (I changed the timer to 10 seconds for testing only) Bathroom Fan - [ID 0022][Parent 0001] If Control 'Bathroom Fan' is switched On Then Wait 10 seconds Set 'Bathroom Fan' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
  19. Yes, as a program (just double checked.) I also made the spoken Bathroom Fan Timer as Bathroom Fan was already used by the SWL itself I'd like to simplify that and whenever someone says turn on Bathroom Fan it would trigger the program. I'm hoping this is possible
  20. Hi guys, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post this issue here. If it's not the right forum I apologize. I have a program for a bathroom fan. Switchlinc is turned on and waits 25 minutes then shuts off. This works when I use the SWL but when I tell Alexa to do this it turns on fine but doesn't shut off after the 25 minutes. Clearly the program works. Have a missed something with the ISY Portal? Drew
  21. Hi bmercier Adding another spoken command worked great. I called it 'book room' but was tempted to use 'Libary' a la Fonzie. haha I'd like to know why it didn't recognize library as a command as its not an uncommon word. Would that be something I'd give as feedback to amazon? or an Alexa forum? Regardless, thanks again. Drew
  22. Hi bmercier Sorry for not including that. ISY Category is Device and Alexa Category is Device/Light I should also add Alexa says "Library doesn't support that" when I ask Alexa to dim or turn on library SWL
  23. Hi guys, I have a SWL that wouldn't respond to alexa voice command (Turn on, dim, etc) I went to the ISY Portal and noticed it was saved as a Contact sensor. I switched it to Light and saved, closed, and backed out. I had Alexa browser app forget the device and rediscover it. When I try a voice command same problem. I go back to ISY Portal and find its switched back to Contact sensor. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Drew Upon second glance many lights are listed as contact sensor but they respond to Alexa voice command.
  24. So... Controlling Apple TV once its on seems to be easily handled by the harmony app. Except for an issue where the Harmony clicks two directions to the right when I select one direction right I think I've pretty much got it. I hope my muddled posts help someone else if their trying to do the same thing. Drew
  25. Programs are available. I’ll go to the other part of the forum and ask. Thanks. Drew EDIT: SUCCESS! I went to the Alexa app and made a Routine combining the instead movie scene and the Tuern On Apple TV Downstairs scene, picked the phrase "Movie Time' and voila. One step closer. Now I have to get it to be able to say "Turn on netflix downstairs" and have it select and open the netflix app in Apple TV. Drew
