  1. Take a look at this link https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page This contain just about everything you'll need to know moving forward. Enjoy
  2. In order to reset the low battery node in the ISY all you need to do is query the node from the ISY after you replace the battery. Right click on the low battery node, the click on query. No need to reset or restore the sensor.
  3. What's the state of the LEDS on the front of the ISY? TRY these steps: Unplug the PLM, wait for 30 seconds Press and hold the set button on the PLM while unplugged for 10 seconds … continue holding the set button on the PLM and then plug the PLM back in and while continuing to hold the set button on the PLM wait for another 10 seconds Reboot ISY and login to the Admin Console If you still get the Safe Mode dialog, then try pushing up the pins inside the RJ45 on the PLM (perhaps they are not making good contact), plug the cable back, reboot ISY, and then login to the Admin Console
  4. The following is from the user's manual. Try disabling LOAD SENSING. I would also try a factory reset / restore device. (disable the load sensing after the factory reset). It's possible that one or more of your lights is drawing enough current to trigger the load sensing. Load Sensing Load Sensing allows you to control the load plugged into On/Off Outdoor Module from its local switch in addition to any linked controllers. Load Sensing is disabled on On/Off Outdoor Module by default, but you can enable it by following these steps. Enable Load Sensing 1) Press and hold On/Off Outdoor Module set button until it beeps (3 seconds) On/Off Outdoor Module Status LED will begin blinking green 2) Triple-tap On/Off Outdoor Module set button. (Be sure to quickly press the set button like clicking a computer mouse.) On/Off Outdoor Module Status LED will stop blinking and turn on solid green if the load is on or solid red if it is off 3) Test by turning the load on and off from its built-in switch Load will turn on and off Disable Load Sensing 1) Press and hold On/Off Outdoor Module set button until it beeps (3 seconds) On/Off Outdoor Module Status LED will begin blinking green 2) Double-tap On/Off Outdoor Module set button. (Be sure to quickly press the set button like clicking a computer mouse.) On/Off Outdoor Module Status LED will stop blinking and turn on solid green if the load is on or solid red if it is off 3) Test by turning the load on and off from its built-in switch Load will not respond
  5. The log only shows when the status of a device changes. What type of device is it, it appears to be an older model. What programs, if any, control the device How often does the device turn on, is it random? What type of load is connected to the device
  6. Is your PLM plugged directly into an outlet? Is the PLM in a well ventilated area, i.e. not in an enclosure. Do you have any other electronics plugged in close proximity to the PLM? It's unusual to have the issues you're having with the newer PLM models Do you experience a lot of powerline fluctuations in your area?

    New Noise problem

You might want to do a factory reset / restore device on the chandelier switch. If it's an older switch it's also possible that it has some failing components. What's the 4 digit date code on the switch?
  8. It's been my understanding that they were going to focus on the Insteon Hub and the Android and IOS apps. His letter somewhat confirms that. Sadly he didn't mention anything about new product development or improvements in the Insteon product line. The ISY is the only product that uses their PLM so I doubt they will be doing much in the way of R&D on it. The current PLM seems to be stable and reliable. I've had no issues with it.

    New Noise problem

    Here's a link to troubleshooting tips https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=INSTEON:_Troubleshooting_Communications_Errors

    New Noise problem

CFL's can be problematic, a bad ballast can cause noise on the power line. Are all your devices, including the PLM dual band? Run a diagnostic / compare line tables on the problem devices. that will show if you have poor communications or corrupted links. It's also possible that if a device is going bad it can create noise on the power line which would interfere with the Insteon signal. You can also try doing a factory reset on a problem device followed by a restore device. Lastly you may just have a marginal Insteon mesh network. Dual band plug in devices, such as a lamp module or an on/off module, one on each side of the power line might improve your communications.
  11. Both the old and the new device need to be the same type, i.e. 8 button keypad dimmer. Physically remove the old keypad, then physically install the new keypad. Link the new keypad to the ISY. Once the new keypad is linked right click on the old keypad, which will still show in the ISY, and click on replace (name of your old keypad) with the new keypad (which will show up as a replacement option). The admin console will then shutdown. All your scenes, programs, etc. will transfer over to the new device. .
  12. Try doing a factory reset on the devices then do a restore device from the ISY

    Random "ons"

Take a look at this link https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=INSTEON_Random_All_On_Events Another possibility is that you have a program that's turning on your scenes.
  14. Yes, just make sure you have a good back up of 4.7.3
  15. You should go with the latest beta release which is 5.0.15A Be sure to do an ISY backup before the upgrade. After the update any programs which you had previously disabled with be enabled and will need to be manually disabled again. Read the release notes before you update.
  16. What version of the ISY firmware are you running? If you're running 4.7.3 then then the Motion Senor II has limited support, basically just the motion on signal which defaults to 30 seconds. None of the parameters are configurable, however you could work around this issue with a program. The latest version of the 5.x.x ISY firmware supports the sensor and its options.
  17. In that case I would submit a support ticket. http://www.universal-devices.com/contact-support
  18. What firmware version are you running? Did you try an ISY reboot?
  19. Sorry for the confusion. Actually the complete part number is 2444a2xx8 for the older remotelinc2 The 2444-222 is the micro open/close module Smartlabs has a habit of making changes to devices and / or device firmware without any release notes. Apparently, as Chris mentioned, they changed the firmware on the current Mini Remote which was previously called the Remotelinc2. The devices look identical I've attached the manual for the older Remotelinc22444a2xx8 RemoteLinc 2 manual.pdf.
  20. Joe, The old remotelinc2 part number is 2444 The newer mini remote part number is 2342 In your post you're showing both devices installed as 2342.
  21. The part number is the same so they should be interchangeable. You really have only .two choices, Get your old remotelinc back, do a restore device on it, then a replace. or, you can try to do a delete on the old remotelinc which may or may not work without the unit in your possession.
  22. It's possible the replace option won't appear unless the device is in the linking mode. The other option would be to try to delete the (old) device. The links for the old device are stored in the PLM and any scenes that the device was linked to. Before you try the delete make a list of any scenes or programs that the device is associated with. If the delete doesn't work then I would suggest submitting a support ticket to UDI as there may be a work around that I'm not aware of. Let me know if the delete works
  23. Right click on the old Remotelinc and try to do a replace, selecting the new Remotelinc as the replacement. Put the new Remotelinc into the linking mode before you click on replace.. This may or may not work without the old unit but it's worth a try. Being that the Remotelinc is a controller only no link tables are written to them, only to the devices they're linked to, including the PLM. Let me know if this works.
