  1. It's possible that some of the data a particular node server needs is internet based, thus the connection to the internet in order for the data to stay current.
  2. Once the node server is installed on the Polisy it's linked to the Polisy UUID. The only reason I can think of for it to access the internet would be for portal access or to check for updates.
  3. @MrBill It's time to do an experiment, disconnect your Polisy from the internet and lets see what works and what doesn't.
  4. It was in an email sent out to Hub users. I just came across it, I don't have a Hub, but I did send Ken an email the other day asking hime to keep us apprised as to product availibility.
  5. Many of you asked about product availability. We started talking with the factories prior to acquiring Insteon to ensure we were able to obtain components and get the assembly lines ready to go as soon as possible. My confidence was high then and now that I'm in the driver's seat, we are pushing things forward. We aren't ready to share timelines yet but I will let you know as soon as we have something concrete. Those that aren't joining us on this journey, we are disappointed yet understanding given the past experiences. We wish you all the best. On behalf of the whole Insteon team we thank you for your trust in us and please let us know if we can do anything better or if you have any concerns. Best regards, Ken Fairbanks CEO, Insteon Technologies
  6. Take a look at the Aeotec multisensor 6. It's a Z-wave device if you're so equipped.
  7. NO, you can't use a dimmer switch on a fan motor. You would need either the on/off module or the 2477S. It also depends on the amperage of your fan. They both support up to 15 amps
  8. @silverton38 Send them a request via the link below, they want to hear from their users. Tell us what you think — Insteon
  9. Maybe they'll sell the Smarthome domain, it would give them some nice working capital Looks like the new Company is going to focus on the Insteon Hub and Insteon devices. If they decide to take that direction, I think it would be a good move. For now, they need to focus on quality not quantity.
  10. The Smarthome web page is now gone, not sure if it's coming back. Insteon.com is still up. The name of the new company is Insteon Technologies, LLC
  11. Try using your browser and https:// (the address of your polisy) i.e. https://192.168.1.240
  12. @lilyoyo1 You should post a copy of your comments and concerns on Ken Fairbanks comment page. He's soliciting feedback Here's the link Tell us what you think — Insteon
  13. @Michaelv The following is from the Polisy documentation. The 2412U isn't listed as supported Polisy supports the following PLMs: 2412S and 2413S through the DB9 connector on the back. 2413U and 2448A7 through the USB port on the back. If you have a 2413S (serial), you will need a cable that looks like this
  14. @upstatemike At this point in time they have provided a direct link, so at least you know you'll be heard
  15. The 2413S has a serial interface and needs to be connected to the DB9 jack on the Polisy using the cable that was furnished with the PLM. If you don't have the cable, you can purchase one here: PLM Serial Cable - Smartenit The easy migration path would be to use your existing 2413S PLM which is already populated with your devices. Smarthome is back in business with a new owner and hopefully they will start manufacturing the PLMs again. Read the Smarthome thread for the latest updates
  16. The attached email was sent out yesterday by Ken Fairbanks at Smarthome. Note that he includes a link for your feedback and comments. His email offers some clarification on the direction the Company is taking. Ken Fairbanks.pdf
  17. The power supplies from your numerous devices created noise on the powerline. It's not an uncommon occurrence. The best workaround is to use a powerline noise filter between the powerbar and the outlet. Insteon use to make one called the Filterlinc which is currently unavailable. X10pro makes one that should work @ x10pro.com
  18. Polyglot settings: Your Polyglot Web port should be 443 ISY settings: Port should be 8080 MQTT Settings: MQTT Port should be 1883
  19. Here's a quote from a previous member's thread: "As an FYI - Aeotec told me that both the Range Extender 6 and 7 support NWI but neither one supports NWE. The technician couldn't tell me why but, it's good to be aware"
  20. What do you mean by " not getting to the admin console"? Does the ISY launcher open? Try rebooting Polyglot Also try removing power from the Polisy then let it reboot
  21. NWI = Network wide inclusion NWE = Network wide exclusion Most devices support NWI, I'm not aware of any that support NWE Here's a link that explains it: Adding and Removing Z-Wave Devices – Z-Wave Outlet (zwaveoutlet.com)
  22. For the 500 series dongle the only version available for end users is 6.8.1 It's possible that another release went out to beta testers
  23. Article from the Verge A group of customers has bought failed smart home company Insteon - The Verge
  24. Currently there is no migration option for moving Z-wave devices from the ISY to the Polisy. You'll have to exclude the devices from the ISY then include them into the Polisy However, there's the possibility that when UD releases their new internal Z-wave board later this year for the Polisy it may include a migration option from the ISY 500 dongle to the Polisy.
