  1. Take a look at this troubleshooting link https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=INSTEON:_Troubleshooting_Z-Wave_Communications_Errors The Aeotec Gen 5 recessed door sensors have been tested by Aeotec and confirmed that they are compatible with the ISY. You'll probably have to put them in the linking mode then do a Zwave heal.
  2. If the 2441ZTH is running on batteries then there is no way to query it as battery operated devices go into a sleep state when not active to preserve battery life. They send out a temperature report when the temperature changes 2 degrees. What you can do is attach a dc power supply to it. In that case the thermostat will stay awake.
  3. It's important to replace like for like, i.e. an 8 button with an 8 button. You can physically remove the old keypad, then install and link the new keypad in its place. The old keypad will still show in the admin console, just right click on the old keypad and click on replace with - click on the new keypad (which will show up in you device list with its address) After the ISY completes the replace procedure the admin console will shut down. When you open up the admin console the new keypad will have replaced the old one.
  4. After you run your diagnostics you might want to do a factory reset on the KPL then a restore device. What is the firmware version of the KPL ( it will display in the admin console ) I have a large number of KPLs installed and occasionally have issues with their non-volatile memory becoming corrupted, especially with the older firmware versions. I've only noticed this with the KPLs and not with any other Insteon devices.
  5. If your old (original) KLP is currently installed then do a diagnostics | show device link tables. After the link table fully populates then click on compare. If the compare shows any mismatched link tables then do a restore device. Exactly what is the keypad doing or not doing. Can you be more specific. What type of load is connected to button A If the problem is only with the KPL and no other devices then your PLM is most likely OK.
  6. What error codes does your ISY error log show when you try to send a test email? What ISY firmware and UI are you running? Also try rebooting your router.
  7. In 5.0.16 there's a slight delay when accessing Zwave devices, otherwise you shouldn't have any delays.
  8. Are there release notes on the new features of the 5.x.x firmware. I've looked but haven't been able to find any.
  9. Are on a PC or a MAC? Are you running the latest version of Java? Are your ISY firmware and UI versions both 5.0.16? In the tools menu, under debug, there's an option to debug your subscriptions.
  10. Yes, UDI can transfer a license from one ISY to another. Contact UDI support. I don't think you need to worry about UDI not being around. They are quite committed and very responsive.
  11. If you populate the Comment/Note field for each device with any pertinent information then that info is also displayed in the Topology report. The Topology report is saved in the same location as your ISY backups and can easily be printed out.
  12. All that info is contained in the ISY Topology report. No notebook required.
  13. type "socket open failed" in the forum search box (include the quote marks) This will bring up several threads with the same issue and hopefully a resolution If not then submit a support ticket: support@universal-devices.com
  14. When you cleared your java cache did you check all 3 boxes. If so it will delete the ISY launcher from your desktop and require you to download it again. The ISY version in the launcher window should then match your ISY firmware version.
  15. Are you using the ISY launcher, if not download it here: https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/24381-isy-launcher/ The admin console and the ISY firmware must be the same versions.
  16. Welcome to the forum Are you referring to the device in a scene? If so you will need to delete it from the scene then re-add it as a responder. If you're not referring to a scene then most devices are both controllers and responders, that option can't be changed. If this didn't answer your question then give a more detailed description of what you want to do and with what device.
  17. I would suggest trying a different SMTP server, either Gmail or your current ISP. The default server can sometimes be unreliable.
  18. The error message is a SMTP Server failure. What ISY mail configuration settings do you have programmed?
  19. If you physically disconnect a device you need to right click on that device in the ISY and then click on disable, otherwise there's no way for the ISY to know when a device has been disconnected.
  20. It's possible that the motion sensor, which is an RF only device, is not in range of a dual band device. Move the sensor close to the PLM for testing purposes and see if it then works. The ISY status window will be bland until it receives a signal from the sensor. If you're running the 4,7.3 ISY firmware then it only fully supports the 2842-222 motion sensor. The 2844-222 will work but must be installed as a 2842-222 and will only support the on signal with a 30 second timeout.
  21. Take a look at your ISY configuration menu. It could be running a query and checking grace periods for your programs

    Run Out of Memory

You've got plenty of available PLM link memory. What does the ISY memory show?

    Run Out of Memory

I must say you certainly have a lot going on. Do a PLM link count. It also could be that you exceeded PLM memory. The newer PLMs hold about 1000 links. The PLM link count will vary depending on ISY activity.
  24. Some of the older LED bulbs use a driver circuit. it's possible that the Insteon switch is not compatible with your LED bulbs. Adding an incandescent bulb will test that theory

    Run Out of Memory

In the admin console under TOOLS | SYSTEM STATUS it will show the details of the ISY memory.
