How? Zooz stick isnt compatible with the ISY
  2. lilyoyo1 replied to SHM's topic in ZMatter
Howd you accomplish that? Do you mean you used zooz with your polisy?
  3. That's true....I was just responding to the comment itself rather than udi support
  4. There's a motion sensor for the new system. There was still some bugs with that one so there's hope that it will be released in the future

What do you mean by speed setting
  6. I was asking out of curiosity. When it comes to people spending money on something that may or may not be supported going forward, they do have a right to know that information. Yes, it's buy at your own risk to a certain degree as anyone can step down in the future. However, for node servers to work and the platform to succeed, people will need to believe in the system and trust that they won't be wasting their money only to see things break or have issues without a fix. If those node servers (in addition to potential future situations) are being picked up by UDI, yourself, or someone else, then it's all a moot point.
  7. Which node servers does this affect
  8. I thought the sales page was explicit enough but yes, the zmatter board is USB only. I personally don't have an issue with the dongle being USB. It's not like it's going to up and walk away for it to get lost. If you're in a situation where you are constantly moving it around or people are messing with it; then I can see it being a bigger issue for you on both sides of the coin.
  9. I hate to break it to you but your position is neither special or unique. We all have invested thousands of dollars and countless days & hours writing programs for our stuff (hundreds of programs for most of us). With that said, I'm not understanding what no plms (or so called lack of plans) have to do with UDI???!!! They don't make plms, never have, nor do they have any control over what insteon chooses to do with their devices. This rant is best served on insteon forums as this has nothing to do with UDI. With that said, insteon has said plms will be available in March as previously stated. In the meantime, there are plm repair services available from insteon themselves and ebay. There's also posts on here on how to repair your own. Unlike the insteon hub, your isy994 does not need to connect to anyone's servers in order to work so yours is not a brick. It won't be updated anymore (and hasn't for quite some time) but it'll continue to work until it dies (as it has). No, this isn't a project for elitists. However, it isn't for those who lack the desire to invest their time, energy, and money into it. No different than owning a home, playing sports, or a career. Personally, I don't count on insteon or any company to not leave me in the cold. That's not why they exist. They exist to make money. Once they're no longer doing that, they will cut loose. Whether it's discontinuing a product and service in order to sell a new product or service or bankruptcy; it's all the same thing.
  10. I don't think the Isy actually checks the status of devices in a scene. It assumes the device state which is probably why it shows up
  11. I have the test versions. I'm going to see if it works with those too tonight.
  12. I'll have to see if that works on all of them tonight
  13. Unfortunately it can't unless they've updated something. At least during the test phase, it had to be done via the Nokia Smart lighting software. The paddle and kpl both show up as if they were relays. You can change that behavior in the Smart lighting app though.
  14. Nothing changes how they work is in regards to how insteon works in itself (with other insteon devices). This is why it was able to be placed in a scene and controlled by another insteon device without issue. The hangup is on the controller side of things not insteon devices itself.
  15. I tested mine when I was still using the Isy and couldn't get it added to a scene. I'll re-add them tonight and see what happens. With the keypad, It only added the main switch as a relay so I didn't even bother trying with that.
  16. Everything still works the same as with older insteon devices which is why it can be added to the system. Because the Isy doesn't recognize the devices itself, there are limits to how the Isy can handle them. For all intents and purposes though, nothing changes about how they work.

That's a lot of generalities. While this isn't my forte, reading what you wrote was enough to want to avoid using it if that was your sales pitch. It's not like the path udi took made for a prohibitively expensive product. Compared to the cost of other controllers, the eisy isn't that expensive. Look at the cost of an rpi4. Are they really saving much of anything? I'm quite sure UDI did their homework and took the path that they felt was best suited for their business
  18. You're in uncharted waters and probably on your own with this one. It's been a good 10 years since the 99 was discontinued so there probably isn't anyone around who has taken your journey from 99 to EISY. It's probably the same should you go from the 99 to 994. As it's been ages for most of us since we did that migration. If anything it would be backup old system and restore it in the 994. As mentioned earlier, it'll probably be best to start with a clean slate and go with the eisy. Factory reset your devices to original state by following the directions in their respective user manuals Google device model# and add user manual). Once done, you'd add the devices like normal to the eisy

  20. What's stopping their allocation from being sold out as well? It's not like there aren't a lot of Canadian users as well. They get theirs from udi so if udi is out so are they (once they sold through their stock).
  21. What happens when you choose start linking then press and hold set button on the device?
  22. New product with most of their user base buying it. Just like everything else in that type of situation, they ran out.
  23. I suspect you're typing the address in incorrectly. What is a 2636-222? Do you mean 2635-222 plug in module? Have you tried start linking then press and gold the set button on the device
  24. It's been a long time since I've added one but yes it works (at least with 5.0.16c and later)
  25. I've never had a single issue with adding devices. It takes me about 5 seconds. What steps are you taking to add a device
