  1. Insteon being in our out of business shouldn't have anything to do with the syncrolincs. I know they used to work flawlessly with the isy (I used to have them). Either there's a bug preventing them from working, some type of interference (they're powerline only), or whoever sold them sold you bad product.
  2. Did you clear your java cache? Also you have to hit the tab when you change a setting. ie: change ramp rate>click ramp rate button
  3. Most of the issues you're seeing are from migrations. A completely clean install should be ok. I set one of my polisys up from scratch and imported the other to see the difference. I felt a new install was easier since I had some gotcha moments with importing. Zwave may be an issue but would most likely come down to what devices your have, your particular setup, knowledge and skill. Since you're not used to the elk Node Server, that may also be an issue. Since you say you don't have the time, that should be your own clue not to attempt things. Regardless of ease of use, you can still have gotchas. It's best to wait until you can focus on setting things up without sharing over it
  4. See above about static IP.
  5. Did you connect and power up the plm before the EISY?
  6. About halfway down this page you'll find a similar question as this. Someone commented with the upgrade link along with additional pertinent information. You can also find it by going to the main page under software releases.
  7. How will UDI's kit not work when it's designed specifically for the 2413s
  8. The release notes in the first post contains this information. Michel also stated theyre working on migration with no eta due to a bug.
  9. Are you sure that the isy sets the time on the thermostat and thats not a local feature? If it does, there should be a way to set it on the thermostat since the ISY time wouldnt automatically do so
  10. There are quite a few posts already detailing this (including the 2413s manual found online).
  11. I haven't checked in a few days but last time I read the eisy wiki, it had the instructions on how to factory reset the EISY.
  12. You can factory reset the board. You'd have to remove and then re-add the devices once done.
  13. See post above. If you want to remove the board, simply unplug your isy, take the bottom screws out (including one behind the sticker), open it up, pull board out, closer it up, and plug isy back in. With the 994 being discontinued, you'll have to try and find a board on eBay. Putting the new one in the same as taking the old one out. If you Google how to replace isy zwave board, you'll find instructions on how to do it

  15. You'd need to replace it with eisy

As tazman pointed out, it will work. However, you won't be able to take advantage of advanced zwave features such as ota updates, associations, S2 security, and more. Your board will simply send and receive zwave signals. Additional capabilities will not be added.

  19. Did you update your isy for 4.xxx to 5.xxx

I believe Elk is via a Node Server now. https://forum.universal-devices.com/forum/309-elk/
  21. You can only use it on 1 unless you pay for additional license. If you transfer it to the EISY, you wouldn't have to pay again.
  22. They did but the AC would still be around
  23. Everyone's needs are different. You may not know of anyone but UDI has thousands of customers. Im sure a greater number of them use other java based products than IR. Besides, what are you logging into? I click a java based link (AC)> up pops my polisy and other systems>click my polisy>and login. How is that different than me clicking on firefox>typing in my ip address (lets be real- id have a shortcut)>type in my password? In fact, the java link actually helps out because most of us are managing multiple systems so they all show up in 1 place. Not sure why they had a hard time. My wife's Mom didn't need help when she downloaded java for something. We're not defending anything. We just recognize what it is. The little bit of work it requires so infrequently, is minuscule in the grand scheme of things. I cant speak for others but what I care about is whether or not my lights and electronics turn on/off when they're supposed to the language for a programming tool that I only use for specific tasks. I care whether or not the hardware allows me to accomplish my goals which it does....Much better than other systems costing 2x as much (those do not use java)
