Hi, When you attempt to connect with MobiLinc are you using the local, secure, or auto detect? If you are within your network, select local and see if you can get that one working first. I also believe the secure https setting in MobiLinc should be your external IP address or a DDNS name, not your local IP address. This would be consistent with larryllix's example. You also need to select the sync with ISY button to make your first connection. Once you get the local working then try working on the secure. Afterwards you can change the connection to auto detect. I totally agree and will be waiting for this development process. ISY is a great product but an improved interface is needed. The interface needs to be functional and easy to use. I once had hopes of MobiLinc being that product but they don't seem to be interested in advancing their Android support. There have been many requests for adding Elk and Zwave support to MobiLinc and all we get is soon. In the meantime their Apple support keeps on rolling. Welcome aboard! Dennis

Also, can you have more than one wireless receiver connected to the M1? Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk I can't answer your question as I don't use wireless device for my Elk. I would suggest using hard wired devices for any alarm system whenever possible. Dennis

I believe each brand of wireless receivers (Elk, Honeywell, & GE) will only work with their own devices. Last time I looked, Elk's wireless receiver was limited to only a handful of devices. I would suggest figuring out what device you might want to add and select a wireless receiver to match. That way you can add your device whenever you would like. Dennis

I have both an Elk alarm panel and an ISY. I converted my old alarm system last October and added the ISY late November. While the Elk is capable of controlling lighting and can handle other automation tasks, the ISY is much easier to program and receive alerts from. The ISY also works with Insteon. When using the ELK for lighting, I think you are more or less limited to using relays (there are probably exceptions to this). The ease of programming with the ISY, for me, makes it a worthy expense. With the ELK, you are some what limited with the messages you can receive. The ELK will only send predefined messages. I also found the mobile access with the ISY to be more wife friendly (we use MobiLinc). One more thing, with the proper set up, you can access the programming menu of the ISY from any computer. I don't believe that would be the case with the ELK. Having said that, there are some functions I automated with the ELK (using relays) for reliability. As an example, I have a zone on my oil fired burner for making hot water. That zone is tied in to my ELK and only runs when my security system is disarmed. I also send a signal to a virtual output so I can control this from the ISY with the ELK integration module. I hope this helps. Dennis

Hi, I have been using UD's default mail server for email and text notifications from the ISY. However, since I have two ISY's, I wanted to have a quick way of telling which location the message was from. Therefore, I decided to use my service providers (Cablevision - Optonline) mail server. I was able to set up the SMTP settings and my messages were sent without an issue. However, all of the line breaks were omitted once I made the change. All of the text in both emails and text messages appear as one continuous message. This makes it hard to read. I have not been able to find a way to add the line spaces in while using Optonline as the mail server. I changed back to the default server and the same messages were delivered fine. I then changed to using a gmail account and the line spacing was fine. However, the "From" field of the message is now my own gmail address and not what is in the "From" field. Once agin messages from both ISY's appear from the same account. I believe I have the from "From" field configured correctly because when I used my Optonline account, the "From" field populated correctly. Is this the way it is, or am I doing something wrong? If anyone can offer some guidance with either issue, it would be appreciated. Thank you. Dennis

I don't think you have the gmail smtp server named correctly. Do a google search for the correct server name. I think it might be smtp.gmail.com. Also check for the correct port. Dennis

You can use MobiLinc without using MobiLinc Connect, providing you know how to set up port forwarding in your router. Dennis
