Here is another case use for variables. Use of a geofence program to alert ISY that a user is home or away. I use Tasker on Android for this. Upon arriving home, I have Tasker set a variable to 1. When I leave home, the variable is set to 0. Now I can write different programs that will execute based on being home or away. For example, if I am away, turn on inside lights at various times to simulate someone moving through the house. I also use the same variable to light up my long driveway and lights on the path to the door when adding home.

You should still correct the wiring to prevent a shock when changing the bulb. The load goes to the black wire which should be connected to the center of the socket. If it is a screw terminal, it should be the dark colored screw. The white wire, or the silver screw is neutral.

You could try setting a variable when you arm the system, say to 1 and return it to 0 when you disarm. Then use the variable to trigger the program. I do this to control various lights, heat, and several other functions.

Trouble including Honeywell thermostat
DennisC replied to GordonGale's topic in Z-Wave - Series 300/500
Have you run "exclude" first? Many Zwave devices require exclude to be done before adding. I usually run exclude 2 times prior to attempting to add a device. If that still doesn't work, try moving the ISY close to the thermostat and try adding in then. If that works, you might need to increase your mesh coverage by adding more devices.- 3 replies

I use a program to monitor the lock status. Whenever the status changes, an email is sent. No guessing and I always know the status of the lock.

It's a module, email UD and let them know you no longer wish it. They should be able to remove it.

So that enables you to access Polyglot Cloud?

With Polisy up and running, I activated the Portal subscription that comes with Polisy. While looking through the Wiki for instructions on how to connect the ISY to the Portal, I noticed instructions for connecting Node Servers to the Portal. My question is, what is the advantage of connecting Node Server through the Portal? Some the Polisy runs on the local network, as does the ISY, why go outside the network to the Portal?

Small system at second "home" - use a Hub, or second ISY?
DennisC replied to MrEstateManager's topic in ISY994
Yes, by setting up 2 profiles, one for each house. You can easily switch between profiles in the app. -
I mainly read the board on a tablet. Once at the page, in Chrome, I am able to save it to the tablet home page very similar to a bookmark. While I never tried this, I am wondering if your reading on a computer, if bookmarking the page would work?

Only 1 thread shows up for me. Under Activity, I select "Unread Content". By selecting the black dot after the avatar but before the title, I am taken to the first post I haven't read within the chosen thread, with all of the unread posts available by scrolling down.

I can confirm the condensed functionality is back. Thanks for taking care of this.

@Michel Kohanim, Have there been any recent forum changes? I usually run the forum in "condensed" mode. This morning my saved hyperlink opened in "expanded" mode, which displays with too much white space. When I switch back to "condensed" there is no change in the forum. Happy New Year's.

Shouldn't have to be at the location. Once added to the ISY finder by using "https" you can connect without being onsite.

Try restarting the ISY?

Nodelink is what I would suggest, it works well and is easy to use in programs.

@Michel Kohanim, Hi Michel, First, thanks for the update on ISY/Polisy. Glad to hear you are progressing with moving all of this forward. I would like to suggest you add developing a Mobil app to support Polisy/ISY. While it is true Mobilinc is actively being developed and supported across both Apple and Android versions now, there doesn't appear to be support for Node Servers coming soon. As for Agave, development appears to have stopped and support response slowed, with commitment to have Node Server support soon. Since Node Servers are a big part of UDI's future, access from a Mobil app is important. One example is all of the great weather related Node Servers now available. Thank you for your consideration.

MobiLinc X (iOS/Android) now supports ISY Portal!
DennisC replied to InsteonNut's topic in UD Portal
Wes, If I understand correctly, if you purchase the all access and connect to ISY portal, you would need to purchase it forceach family member? There is no sharing the family all access? -
If you take the few precautions that have been well documented, the upgrade goes well.

Newbie.. How to control my foscam(s) in ISY
DennisC replied to Kemo's topic in New user? Having trouble? Start here
This nodeserver works fine moving a Foscam camera to a preset position. Movement can be controlled by an ISY program. I currently run a camera based on a random time setting. The only requirement is in naming the preset when it is created in the camera. The naming convention must be a number. -
