  1. HI Smokegrub, I understand what you are asking and what your difficulty is. I also have two ISY's installed at two different locations. My difference is I have DDNS name setup for both locations. Besides automatically adjusting if my IP address changes, it also makes knowing which ISY I am connecting to (away mode) easy, since my DDNS naming convention includes the location. Since you already have port forwarding set up for your external IP addresses, you would not need to make changes to your router if you would like to add a free DDNS account. You could attempt to set this up, without impacting your existing ISY connectivity. I am using No-IP.biz for a free account. I would suggest you try and set up a free account for each site (it is very easy). Once set up, you could try and enter the DDNS name in the ISY finder. You will know right away if you have entered it correctly and it will not impact your current external IP address entry (in the event it doesn't work correctly). If you require additional assistance, we can help walk you thru the setup. Good luck. Regards, Dennis
  2. Then I would call customer service back and explain to them that there is no latching mode and ask for an exchange or refund.
  3. Why not try testing it by connecting a lamp and see if it times out?
  4. I have also received support as an end user. Elk support is very helpful, patient, and friendly.
  5. All you need to do is register on the Elk website as an owner. You then have access to all of the software and firmware updates.
  6. I'm using the Honeywell TH8320ZW. I have the ISY enable heat mode below a certain outdoor temperature and apply several different set points at various times throughout the day, if we are home. There is another program to lower the set point if we are away from home. On the cooling side, I only turn cooling off if we leave home, or if an exterior window is opened. I can also make adjustments and monitor set points from my phone. Dennis
  7. Sorry, I use the Honeywell Zwave stat.
  8. This is the thermostat I use at two locations and has worked without an issue and is being controlled almost completely by the ISY.
  9. I consider controlling my garage door opener a critical operation. I take anything I consider critical directly to my Elk. I wire it to a relay and have the Elk control the relay. With the Elk module and a program, opening and closing my garage door opener is controllable by my ISY. I also have a wide gap contact on my garage door that is wired to my Elk. Since my ISY can monitor this contact, I have another program to monitor open/close status. If the door is open after a certain time at night for x amount of time, my Elk system announces the garage door is open. Dennis
  10. I have not noticed any changes in ours. Our Echo was sitting right on top 7.1 channel speaker connected to the tv and could hear us fine from 15 - 20 feet away even with tv on. In fact, on occasion, Alexa was known to respond to the tv when a character was named Alexa. Dennis
  11. I believe that is correct and it is mentioned in the link.
  12. Follow this link and scroll down to Portal: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page If you already have the Networking Module you can have your subscription to the portal extended. Length of time depends on when you purchased the module. Dennis

    Away Mode

I am using Tasker on an Android phone and setting a variable on ISY as described in the wiki.
  14. You could use the built in mobil UDI interface. Check the wiki for more information. It is not great, but if all you need to do is turn lights on/off it works. Dennis
  15. Hmmm, not sure if you follow DST at your location, but clocks changed last night. Wonder if timing was out of sync..... Dennis
  16. I frequently find Echo responding to the TV and telling us she didn't understand or in some cases actually answering a question.
  17. I find programming for things like lighting and temperature much more convenient and easier in the ISY. Having said that, anything that is critical, like water valve, garage door opening, ect, I handle with my Elk and then set phantom outputs if required in my ISY. Dennis
  18. What are you trying to do with your Elk system that isn't already available with the ISY Elk module?
  19. Glad to hear it's what you needed.
  20. To load the UDAjax just enter your ISY's IP address in to a Mobil browser. I think if you are using the standard ports you wouldn't need to add them, but if it doesn't work, just add the correct port. Info on this should be in the Wiki.
  21. Or the built in to ISY Ajax
  22. Just enter your IP address in your phones browser. If you have changed from the standard port you will need to enter a : and the correct port number. Outside your lan you will need a static IP address or ddns account.
  23. I'm using a Honeywell Zwave thermostat and that has worked fine with ISY, programs, and Mobilinc. Dennis
  24. I'm doing this also. Works well and no chance of a stray Insteon signal opening up the garage door. Dennis
  25. I think you would be able to share some ordering and music collection. Amazon allows you to add family members to your account, or at least Amazon Prime does. You might want to look in to that. Dennis
