  1. Very useful information, thanks !!! Though I had not thought of it, it makes sense that the migration should take place on Polisy with having both the Zooz dongle and the ZMatter board on the same device. If not mistaken, there is a pending upgrade of 5.5.0 which may make it easier to install the firmware. I have used PuTty several times, but I am always hesitant going that way and I hope that the AC solution will soon work. The migration is a potential headache as I have some 80 ZWave devices. If I also need to rewrite my programs as well as routines on Google Home and Alexa, then this would be a pretty big project. Therefore I put my hope on the UD team ironing out the various issues mentioned. As much as I love being among the first to use new devices or software, it makes sense for me to use my current setup for the time being and wait for clarity. Thanks again !

    What is the EISY?

    great news
  3. Thanks so much ! There are days that I consider my self somewhat advanced with ISY and there are days that I am utterly confused by the multitude of sometimes contradicting posts. As my setup works ok, I am going to wait till I get the eisy and hopefully by then there is more clarity (and possibly one or more firmware updates). p.s. I'll stay away from naming it a "silly blue box" though that it what my wife thinks of my home automation hobby slash obsession
  4. I have seen so much information that I am utterly confused. I am exclusively Zwave, plus some wifi devices. I have a Polisy Pro with the Zooz 700 usb stick I have the new ZMatter board installed in my Polisy, but I am waiting for the migration until I receive my eisy and when the tool is deemed to be ready. Polisy is at 5.4.5 and PG3 is at 3.1.16 (1) Should I Upgrade to 5.5. now ? (2) What is proper procedure for the 5.5. upgrade, in the Administrative Console or Pressing the button on Polisy ? I know that there are descriptions of the procedure but there are so many comments (including on problems) that I need a clear & simple explanation. Thanks
  5. Hi Michel, I apologize for my confusion. I have the new board installed in my Polisy, but I am waiting for the migration until I receive my eisy and when the tool is deemed to be ready. My question : Should I do the upgrade 5.5.0 now and should I do that in the Administrative Console or by using a paper clip on the Polisy. I know that much has been posted on all this but with so many posts I am a bit confused.

    eisy ZMatter USB

As always, thanks for your smart advise
  8. Thanks so much. I am waiting till I receive the ordered eisy AND when there is clarity on the migration. I still don't understand why some have backup iox and others do not, but at this point it does not matter (pun not intended )
  9. But for some it shows IoX..... Anyway, I am waiting for my eisy and only then will I consider migration to the new board.
  10. I need some guidance. My ISY on Polisy is at 5.4.5 and my PG 3 is at 3.1.16. Everything works fine, but I have concerns on the firmware upgrade. In the migration instructions it says to go in the Administrative Console - File - Backup IoX. In another post I saw the attached picture which shows IoX below network. In my Administrative Console it shows Polisy instead of that IoX and I do not have the option to Backup IoX, and I only have Backup ISY. Why don't I have IoX (apparently) anywhere ?
  11. I am also confused. In my Administrative Console (I am on 5.4.5) I have FILE-BACKUP ISY and not IOX. When all Zwave devices disappear after the firmware upgrade to 5.5, it is sufficient to do a RESTORE of my lalest Backup (understanding the Routing issue) ? Most likely I am going to wait with upgrade and migration till I receive my eisy and also waiting for clarity in this forum of the experience of others.
  12. Question (1) ..... Even with routing lost, ZWave + / 700 should (gradually) find the optimum routing and, alternatively, could I perform an "Update Neighbors" starting with the devices closest to my Polisy and then gradually going to the devices further away ? Would that not resolve the routing issue ? Question (2) ... Is there any negative to upgrade to 5.5.0 and wait for further updates before migrating to the ZMatter board ?

    What is the EISY?

I also run Home Assistant on a Raspberry Pi 3, waiting for HA Yellow Box, which is basically a Rasperry Pi 4 with HA pre-installed.

    What is the EISY?

My question is how would I get HA installed on eisy.
  15. The "problem" of UD is that they strive for perfection and that they are transparent . Clearly the migration is complicated and I rather have them take more time than to deliver a faulty tool.

    eisy ZMatter USB

While I have the latest Iphone, I like to use my computers (1 desk top in my home office and 2 notebooks elsewhere at home). HA provides a very neat user interface for ISY, through the ISY Integration. On my Iphone I have both UD Mobile (very powerful) and the HA App. Furthermore, HA has hundreds of Integrations vs just over 100 node servers with ISY. The programming of HA is inferior to ISY and there is zero support, other than user-to-user advise. In short, HA is a nice complement to ISY.
  17. I definitely will wait with migration till the tool is working. I have some 80 Zwave devices. My manual migration from ISY to Polisy was a big project, especially as some devices are tough to reach. This being said, redoing my programs, though a lot of work (hours and hours), it helped me making these programs more efficient (*). What I read in this forum is that the migration tool should be ready before, or soon after, eisy will be delivered. (*) I have learned so much in this forum over the years
  18. I guess that you right with regard to Matter, but I believe the upcoming firmware upgrade will enhance the Zwave performance, including supposedly Zwave Scene.

    eisy ZMatter USB

Good point. As the Yellow Box is made by the HA people, one would assume that it works out of the box and that any issue will be addressed. There is of course nothing with HA that comes anywhere close to the UD customer support, but there is plenty of community info. I DO like HA as a complement to ISY.

    What is the EISY?

Some of us have the obsession of always wanting the latest toy. The major difference of eisy is that allows integration of Zigbee as well as the upcoming common technology of Matter -Thread. If you are happy with your current setup and can live without Zigbee and Matter, then I would not worry too much. From what I understand Polisy will continue to be supported for the time being, so you have plenty of time to decide.

    eisy ZMatter USB

@MrBill You are the King of ISY with HA In the sales email of UD announcing the availability of eisy, it mentions that HA can be installed. I ordered the HA Yellow Box (delivery end of January 2023) but now I wonder whether it would just be simpler to have HA on eisy, and cancel the Yellow Box. What do you think ?

    eisy ZMatter USB

@Michel Kohanim Can I order the ZMatter Board Enclosure (I think you mentioned something like $ 18) so that I get it at the same as the eisy that I ordered. As per @tazman is there another eisy model coming with more power/features ? (in which case I may want to wait, depending on what & when).

    eisy ZMatter USB

It's there and I placed my order. Now I need to order the USB enclosure for the ZMatter board.
  24. Enjoy.... I have been many times to Buenos Aires but always on business and never made it to Mendoza.
