  1. Though we don't yet know the price of eisy, I am now inclined to wait for eisy, unless that external USB board is available sooner, in which case I do the 2-step approach.
  2. I think that now I get it, When you wrote ".........external USB drive for polisy will will work with eisy............" you did not refer to the Zooz stick but to a new stick that will be the equivalent to the new board. NOW it makes sense to me. Thanks !!!!!
  3. OK........ as you know I am not too smart and I am still confused.... The new board for Polisy includes Zwave and Zigbee, and it also includes various new Zwave features such as S2. If I use my existing Zooz Zwave 700 USB stick on the eisy, then I have of course Zwave 700 on eisy, but what about the other features of the board ? I am looking for a very clear description of the differences between the new Polisy board and eisy.
  4. To make sure that I understand.... What you mean to say is that price-wise ZMatter is not included when buying an eisy, but a separate USB will be available to achieve everything that comes with the upcoming new board for Polisy ?
  5. Puishover is a powerful Node server for sending messages to your phone. It may be a bit complicated to set up the first time, but it works well.
  6. Would Pushover resolve your issue ?
  7. I heard that eisy may come in November. I am still hesitating on whether to get new board, which is coming very soon, or wait for the eisy. I understand that for Polisy I would need to open the Polisy and exchange the old board for the new one, which is not something I am too keen on. Supposedly the Polisy with new board is cheaper and would give sooner (*) access to the advantages of the new board. However, waiting for eisy would be more expensive, but supposedly the new board (or USB dongle) would be ready to go, and eisy comes with other improvements. So, tough choice..... (*) I am traveling most of October, so the "sooner" may not be a big thing for me.
  8. Have you considered moving to Polisy, including with the new Zwave board that comes in a few days ?
  9. If you have not tried yet, try rebooting your ISY from within the Administrative Console or from within ISY Portal, and if that does not work try power cycling your ISY. The latter is not the best option, but worth trying if rebooting does not work. Last week I had the same issue with Polisy. The Polisy is in a closet and I knew that it was unlikely that the dongle had moved. After 2 reboots, Zwave came back.
  10. Because Zwave Scenes are really not working faster than Programs, I almost exclusively use Programs. However I have a few sensors that should activate lights and, as you have pointed out many times, Zwave is much slower than Insteon in these cases. That is why I'd love to have direct association. A few months ago there was an active conversation on this topic in this forum, but there was not really a conclusion. Michel wrote yesterday that UD has totally redone Zwave and for that reason I am wondering whether direct association will be part of it.
  11. I have only succeeded with option 1 (ISY as middleman). Will this change with upcoming Eisy upgrade ?
  12. My 2 cents......... I was where you are on waiting for the Zwave migration tool as I have some 80 Zwave devices. A few weeks ago, I decided on the manual migration and it took me several days. For most of the devices the migration was quick and easy. In some cases I was even able to do the exclude directly from IoP, followed by an inclusion. In other cases I had to do the exclusion from ISY and then the inclusion on IoP. For about 3 or 4 wall switches neither method worked and I had to physically remove the switches from the wall and do the exclusion/inclusion close to the Polisy. I also had to redo my programs, which I actually liked as I learned a lot over the years and the new programs are more efficient. As said the migration took me several days and creating & adjusting the new programs took some 2 weeks. I took the opportunity to replace some old pre Zwave Plus devices with new 700 series, though with some 80 devices I have a solid Zwave mesh network, even with older Zwave. One advantage was that moving everything to IoP, I was able to get everything (back) on Home Assistant which is a very nice complement to ISY/IoP, especially as a front UI. I am happy with result and am glad that I made the effort. Of course we now seem to be closer to the migration tool coming alive, but in your place I would seriously consider skipping Polisy and go straight to Eisy. True, we don't yet know the xact ETA of Eisy and we don't yet know the price. As you waited with getting Polisy till now, I would wait a bit longer and skip Polisy.
  13. Pushover is great. If I can make Pushover work, then anyone can ☺️
  14. What @JimboAutomates suggests is true. When of my Kasa devices stop working in ISY, they (almost) always stopped working in the Kasa App as well. Of course, by definition, they won't work in ISY if they are somehow disconnected from the Kasa App.
  15. If you are not in a hurry, then consider skipping Polisy and go straight to UD's new box "EISY" (or whatever it will be called) which is supposedly coming out very soon.
  16. I dropped Insteon in 2014 and went Zwave all the way. Over the years I have learned a lot in this forum on the superiority of Insteon over Zwave. I don't disagree, except that I have always argued that Smarthome's monopoly of Insteon devices was (is) a negative compared to the wide choice of Zwave manufacturers. Though I recognize that it can be annoying that each Zwave brand has its own specifificities. If I were to start from scratch today, I would consider alternatives like Lutron, but overall I am happy with my ISY-Polisy setup, which consists of some 85 % of Zwave and 15% of Wifi devices. The one thing I have learned is that the less perfect Zwave is still alive and kicking, while Insteon...... well, we don't really know. So criticize Zwave as much as you want, but it is still widely available.
  17. Eisy is about a month away........☺️
  18. How come I see " The ISY does not support S2 " and where can I find " you can use Smart Start: use QR Codes to include Z-Wave devices. ". ? I must be missing something somewhere....
  19. I am bit confused...... Are you talking about IoP or Eisy, because I don't see this in IoP
  20. Does anyone how to use the lower button on the switch (as OFF for another light) ?
  21. RESOLVED......... In ISY Portal, Alexa was still set to old ISY instead of to IoP.
  22. Having moved from ISY to IoP, I am trying to recreate a Alexa routine that "speaks" when a variable is set to 1 in a program. This worked fine with my ISY but I don't seem to get the variable to show up in my Alexa App. Some time ago someone very friendly gave me the following instructions, that I kept, but I don't remember who. I followed these instructions carefully but, as mentioned, I don't see the 'motion sensor' in he Alexa App : Define a STATE variable with a nice name like $sSayBothGDoorsClosed, Save! In an ISY program insert lines $sSayBothGDoorsClosed = 1, Wait 30 seconds, $sSayBothGDoorsClosed = 0 In ISY Portal, in define Alexa table, find that variable $sSayBothGDoorsClosed and define as a Motion detector, make On from value = 1 Say "Alexa discover" to make it appear in Alexa app. In Alexa app on a cell phone (Win app does not allow Routine editing) define a Routine using sSayBothGDoorsClosed as a trigger, make the output a custom vocal and add "Both garage doors are closed" Routines can take a while to be effective on Amazon sometimes. Also Amazon may block Routine triggers Has anything changed and are these instructions still good ?
  23. I fully agree all your points (*). I bought my dongle when Polisy was announced and before UDI had these for sale. If I understand the paths of development, you want to skip Polisy and go straight to Eisy. That makes sense. (*) I personally like the USB dongle, so that it would (should) be easy to upgrade when the 800 dongle comes out. My assumption is that UD would be able to upgrade Polisy/Eidy to 800 with a firmware update.
  24. The Zooz Zwave dongle 700 is available on Amazon. It is the one that I (and many) use with Polisy and in the past few days I completed my migration from ISY to Polisy and removed the ISY from my setup.
