Simplehomenet's Specifications tab for the EZSnRF says twenty devices and a total of 256 links. The Simplehomenet Utility Suite V1.81 also shows twenty codes to pick from. Not sure if anything has changed since they published the specifications.

Smarthome has an RFID Kit for Insteon. Basically it is a reader that uses a relay module to trigger an IOLinc Sensor Input. I built one with parts since I had recently purchased a four pack of IOLincs and didn't need another one. I found a few errors in the Instruction sheet but it did work. Security Codes; as mentioned; maybe a different thing.

Yes the X10 status is reported. For Switchlincs. Never tested my older ApplianceLincs or LampLincs. I found a Q&A on how the older Switchlinc Dimmers act. Not sure about the latest revision ones. Biggest difference is using the Local Paddle to dim or brighten. It does not send a stream of bright or dim commands many X10 modules use. When the paddle is released it send a single X10 %Preset Dim command. If dimmed to 0% or brightened to 100% an X10 off or on is sent and not the %Preset Dim. Most X10 modules have no clue on how to handle a % Preset Dim Command. The Smarthome X10 only and Insteons with an X10 address should know how to handle the % Preset Dim. My older revision SwitchLinc Relay Modules send an X10 on or off when the paddle is locally toggled.

Thanks for looking into this. I found a real odd one. Did a Show Links in a Device on a Remotelinc. Said all records matched. Hit compare again and 3/4 of the lines turned to Extra Record Found. Third compare all was Identical again.
-
Now that you mentioned it. My Extra Record is the one proceeding the line of 0's. Also mine has changed with a second compare if more than one line is marked as an Extra Record. The second compare then only shows the last one. This also was happening to me in older revisions and it didn't start with 2.7.6
-
I have also seen the Extra Record Message. I had one module show almost all of the records where Extra and I did a compare a second time and it said all records matched. Both the ISY Link Table records tab and the devices records tab matched line for line and I still got the Extra Record indication. Restore the device and the same thing shows up. Extra Record between the Device Link Table and the ISY Link Table. Again line for line the same. No I am not talking about the line with all 0's as that is the first open table entry for the device.

That is what most do. An Icon may have been slightly cheaper, but the LED on the ones I have are Yellow or Green. Also no bargraph of the LEDs. Just the one that glows when it is Off.

Jay M. What shipping method did you pick? Deluxe Ground use to always be FedEx Ground. Now it is their choice. I have seen other posts in their forums from buyers close to the Smarthome factory. Taking over a week to get there. Economy Ground they don't even guarantee same day shipping. I believe they say two to three days to ship.

Yes I still have a few hold over X10 Chime Modules.

Wouldn't be a nice thing; if Smartlabs made a small Insteon Key Fob?

The EZX10RF can receive all 256 X10 Addresses and will pass them on to the power line. You can also use a specific X10 Address and command to map to a linked Insteon device. I am not sure if the ISY can manage Insteon Links to it. If you don't have information on it. Including the uses instruction sheet: http://www.simplehomenet.com/proddetail ... 9357342313 If you are going to only use an X10 signal to trigger an ISY event. An X10 remote and a X10 Transceiver could also be used. About how far away do you want to use the remote? As there maybe a range issue.

If they are Low Voltage Lights. Unless the power supply for them specifies they can be dimmed. I would not try them with any dimming modules.
-
Do you have a Firewall? I know Zone Alarm had to be told the ISY99is address before mine worked correctly.
-
No problem. I had done all the things before you even posted a bug was found. Thanks again for all the support the whole UDI team give to your products.
-
Glad you found it. I got mine corrected. Well in a round about way. Used my last ISY Backup and then I was getting four modules with the error and both RemoteLincs where fine. Manually clicked on each with a red! and then turned it off. Backed up the ISY and then did a restore from that backup file. The latest backup showed no errors after I cycled the power or a reboot. I was clearing the Java Cache as a precaution each time I made any restores or backups.

Reboot with no batteries in RemoteLinc 2. Same error. First time after reboot The My Lighting display may show no module status and the Log in and password box may reappear; with the password and user name in the box already. Then the status shows. I have two RemoteLincs and in My Lighting after a reboot; I click on one of the twelve buttons it shows no current state for last command from that button; as I would expect. As long as RemoteLinc 2 Button one has no current state received in its box. The error happens. An on or off from that button; so the box shows a last current state of on or off and there is no error. The other eleven buttons current state boxes can be blank as no commands where received since reboot with no problems. RemoteLincs batteries are original and a battery tester says each are about 1.47 volts. Will change them anyway.

Well if anyone can get a strange problem it is me. After a power loss or a Reboot. The error happens every time I open My Lighting. The RemoteLinc 2 Button 1 icon is a red !. After I push that button on the RemoteLinc. The error goes away and the red icon changes to what looks like a tiny remote with six LEDs on it. Opening My Lighting from then on does not flag that error; until I do a Reboot as a test. Then it is back.

The range on the Proximity Reader is about 2-4 inches. I also found an error in the Kits Manual. The white wire from the Proximity Reader Module should be insulated and not connected to the +T trigger terminal of the Elk Relay board. If it is connected; the relay stays on all the time. Dakota Alert makes some driveway and motion sensors that maybe could be used. The receiver has some relay contacts that could be connected to an I/OLinc to trigger things. http://www.dakotaalert.com/index.html I know that Simplehomenet makes a Dakota Alert receiver. EZSnsRF but I believe it does not work with the ISY99i.

Today I had a power loss for a few minutes and I got a strange error next time I accessed My Lighting Administration Console. "Device Communications Error RemoteKinc 2 Button #1 (A 39 91 1). Please Check Connections. " In the My Lighting the RemoteLinc #2 Button 1 has a RED ! on it. If I push the button on or off the RED ! goes away and the error no longer happens in the Administration Console. I can also get the same error if I use the RESET ISY box. Firmware 2.7.6

Most CFL's are marked "Not For Dimmer Circuits" The ones that are dimmable have that feature on the box and most times on the lamp itself. I have tried some ULA SDS-23W ones with a LampLinc V2 and found they dim fairly well. Not quite linear and like to be started at 100% and dimmed down; to a point and then just go off. Didn't check for noise on the power lines.

With the set button 2 seconds is the minimum. Through software it can go to 0.2 seconds. If I read the data for the I/OLinc Smartlabs gave us in the SDK correctly, but I see a newer 1.1 rev is mentioned in the wiki so who knows.

The 2414S PLC and 2412S PLM are not even close to being the same. I am surprised at Smarthome's response. Right on the 2412S web page is a chart of differences between them.

Yes I have also seen improved incandescents are in the works and that the law only required a percentage of energy used reduction. I have tried a EarthLED EVOLUX S bulb and was not impressed at all. Their claim of a 13 watt bulb being comparable [didn't say the same (clever marketing ) ] as a 100 watt incandescent a big stretch of the imagination. I actually found a 6500K CFL in my collection.
-
I have seen CFL lights in different color temperatures. 2700K 4100K 5000K 5700K

Power strips and UPS units can also degrade Insteon signals. Insteon modules can also degrade X10 signals. Since they also have a power line transmitter in them. They absorb signals if not the unit transmitting. Insteon signals are resent, X10 signals are not. Some have reported their X10 systems degrade as they where switching over to Insteon.
