If you have not downloaded the full users manuals for your Insteon Devices. They are a great help. Most have links on their sales pages and they are also listed here. http://www.insteon.com/support.html Does sound like the motion sensor was in power saving mode. As LeeG pointed out. With an ISY controller. The manual linking information in the manuals is ignored and always use the ISY controller to do the linking. That way it knows the links and can act accordingly.

If the filter was a FilterLinc. It has an internal fuse that probably blew.

I just tested a v.33 Old Silver Remotelinc with the latest 4.0.4 firmware. Added fine. Installed with no issues. Are we still supposed to turn Off the Java Plug in for IE8 after we are through? I do have Java 1.7.21

Not all PLMs work with Houselinc. Early 2412S PLMs with firmware <70 seem to be not found in my tests and reports on the Smarthome Forums. They also are the ones with the small link database of 417 entries. Houselinc and the PLM you are using will add links in your devices not known by your ISY controller and its PLM. So it is possible to mess up your devices link databases. If memory serves me. Some Houselinc users factory reset their devices after using Houselinc and then restore them from their ISY controller. I found Houselinc will not automatically add my old I1 modules. It required me to use the set button after the automatic add failed. Probably because they are I1.

V.0D is the firmware version 0x0D.

You are not alone LeeG. I have seen many changes since I started using Insteon in late 2005. IMHO not all good for the end user or us Developers Group members. I have enough old Insteon Hardware to keep me going and dread having to mix older Insteon devices with the present modules. I always welcome your findings as you definitely know your Insteon hardware and software.

Is the Keypadlinc very old? A power reset with the Air Gap switch didn't help? Wiring is tight and the load is correct? No low voltage lights or CFLs? The flickering an pulsing LEDs look like its power supply has failed.
-
The On and Off buttons always control the load on the red wire. You can't seperate the On Off buttons from the load control.

From what I have read in the Garage Hawk section here. You probably would need the Remote Module anyway. Garage Hawk uses some added commands between their units and the remote module. Then it translates the commands to ones most controllers can understand. For the ISY controller to use the 19 commands directly. Would most likely add lots of code to the firmware

rlebel, Your PLM is a 2413S and not the older 2412S? Have you done a PLM link database count a few times to verify you have around 900 links? 900 is getting close to the maximum count it can hold.
-
Seriously doubt it. Probably uses a different signaling method and assigned RF frequency. Got a model number of the sensor or what alarm system it is normally used with?
-
Many power bars have added noise filters in them. They would filter out the Insteon power line signals as noise. Not all of them do this. A simple power bar with no filter or just some MOVs for spike removal would probably be fine. UPS and computer equipment can also make noise or have their AC input filters effect Insteon power line signals.

Thank you for the update.
-
I always power up my PLM a few seconds before my ISY994i. To allow the PLM to fully initialize before the ISY994i tries to connect with it.
-
If you could query, restore and update it. The communications appears to be OK. A failed iMeter Solo could be the problem.
-
The firmware you are running is old and will not properly support new Insteon devices with the I2CS protocol in them. Both the official 3.3.10 and the beta 4.0.3 can be found in this section of the forums. viewforum.php?f=25

One added tip. A regular CFL should not be used on any dimmer even if it uses a neutral power connection. Damage to the CFL or dimmer is possible. There are hard to find dimmable CFLs.

Mine updated with no problems.
-
No both should say 4.0.2 Did you follow the steps of clearing the java cache, enable java plug in, download the new admin.jnlp and then disable the java plug in? As detailed in the first post of the thread.

Since the PLM is a Smartlabs-Smarthome product. We may not have an answer to why they seem to be failing recently. As I have seen others with early PLM failures. If the past experiences are the present path they are taking. There will be no statements from them on the problems. They will just keep warranty exchanges going.

Did you measure the AC voltage directly across the light itself?

LeeG, I believe you are thinking about the 6287 five amp wired in filter. Unfortunately it is discontinued. Though they may still be found on eBay. http://www.levitonproducts.com/catalog/model_6287.htm I have no personal information on the XPNR. Not sure how it would treat the Insteon 131.65 KHz power line signals. http://www.x10pro.com/pro/pdf/xpnr.pdf http://kbase.x10.com/wiki/Selecting_a_Filter I did find a schematic of the Leviton 6298. That the X10Pro cross reference says is the same as their XPNR. Will have to study it and try and figure out how it works. More data. Old Leviton Technical Manual says their 6289 In Line Noise Reducer. Filters noise above and below 121 kHz.

I edited my reply as you where replying. I hope I didn't sound like I was lecturing. Hope you find your answers. The Air Gap power cycle reset unlocking the switch. Does point to the controller getting locked up by maybe power line noise. I believe it is mentioned in the troubleshooting part of the full users manual. http://www.insteon.com/pdf/2466S.pdf
