telnet
Hi, I did a telnet to my ISY (telnet 192.168.1.102) and it came up fine, but one of the commands I gave it was XS (exit shell) to close the telnet window (log off), but I can no longer telnet now to my isy. OK, what did I do wrong this time ? Got "could not open on port 26" I think my port is 443 but that does not work either. No port was needed on my first attempt that worked OK untill I did the exit via XS

2.7.8/9 Instructions
sorry for the confusion. Yes they are in scences just not together, simply two scenes "Pool Brite" and "Pool Dim" with KPL-B in one and KPL-D in another, but want them ME. But as I type this I think I see what you mean. I wrote these two scenes early after getting my isy, now I think I see I should have made just one scene with both buttons in them but controlling the pool lite to diffent leves based on which button was pressed, OK now I think I understand, and to make them ME, make the other one off. I will try that. Guess I have to redo my scenes!

2.7.8/9 Instructions
sory Michel Still confused. First: Is "grouping" and "Mutual Exclusive " the same thing? Second: I only used ME before, and some of the buttons are not in scenes that i want ME for, are you saying to add them? Not want to burden you with something I should know, perhaps this is explaned better in the wiki?

What's in the next release (2.8.16)
Hi Michel I am not sure I now understand the working of new Mutual exclisve screen in 2.7.8. It is unfamiliar format but also suggested not using the feature but doing it thru scenes, which does not make sense to me. Also, the ME buttons I had programmed previously, although still working, do not seem to show up in this new screen.

What's in the next release (2.8.16)
Michel despite clearing my Java Cache, removing ALL start up programs inclunding my antivirus, I still cannot upgrade after several attempts. It gets to various levels of upgrade (40% max) then always fails with java.land, null pointer xception AND socket open failure messages. Any ideas?

a little motion sensor program help, please
Hi, I would like opinions on this program, while it works most of the time it sometimes is problomatic. The problem is possible due to comminication issues I am having, but perhaps also the program. The intent is to have the motion sensor control the Garage light unless the garage light has been turned on by other KPL controllers then they take precendence. I think the logic is correct as works most of the time, but may be an easier way and if any of you get time please give me your thoughts. It is broken up inot two prgrams , for on and off. Motion on program: If Status '11.A0.A5-Sensor' is On And Status 'Garage Back Lite' is Off Then Set 'Garage Back Lite' 70% Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Motion sensor off program: If Control '11.A0.A5-Sensor' is switched Off And Status 'Garage KPL A' is Off And Status 'Garage KPL B' is Off And Status 'Garage KPL D' is Off And Status 'KPL Kitchen A' is Off And Status 'KPL Kitchen - B' is Off And Status 'KPL Kitchen - D' is Off Then Set 'Garage Back Lite' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Lamplinc at 100% OK as Appliancelinc replacement?
thanks! OK, convinced, will do it the RIGHT way

Lamplinc at 100% OK as Appliancelinc replacement?
I think the title says it all. In this case it will run an inductive load such a low voltage light xformer, is there any perceived issue doing this? Lamplinc will always be set to come at at 100%

auto dimming keypad?
well it may be too early to post but last night while out BBQing (in CA) my outside light that was turned on by a keypad, slowly dimmed to off by itself. I turned it on again and the same thing happened. I went in side to see if anyone had fooled with the lights, and no one had. I tried an hour later to duplicate this and could not. Like I said I know that this is little information until I get time to debug, but in the chance that someone could identify with this issue thought I would post. Thx Joe

actual power burned when dimmed
so looking for a rough guide to power reduction as a result of dimming an incandescent bulb. I doubt 50% dim yields 50% power reduction, but perhaps close? Can anyone give me a rough figure of merit? While at it does anyone have the rough lumen per watt of CFL vs incandescent? Thx Joe

Mutually Exclusive Issue
Michel On last thought. What if I have the Pad A & C control two differnt programs in the ISY that just turns on the apprpriate scene,. Is this an acceptable way aroud the issue? Joe?

Mutually Exclusive Issue
Thanks Michel All makes sense, but to be sure the "load button" is the button on the device (say a switch on a lamp) that is turned on/off, and it makes no difference if the KPL is in 6 or 8 button mode? and this is only for Pad "A" Regarding Ver 2D KPLs what do you think I should do?
-
Mutually Exclusive Issue
Hi Michel I got around to replacing the KPL with another one then using the "replace device" function. It also is a Ver 2D and same thing, both A&C come on together and go off together, but each will activate teh correct scene. Now in these scenes I have two other KPLs. Those scenes are controlled by different pads (B&D) on the two other KPLs , would that be an issue? Also, unrelated question (I think it is unrelated) is currently I have two different scenes for the same lights but at different levels. Then each of these two pad controls the two different scenes. Is it better to make one scene, put both pads in that scene but have them just control the lights to different levels? The more I research, I have more questions. In each scene that has a KPL pad A in it there is a control for "applied locally fo keypad A" but not other pads just A. Why is this and what's unique about A Is it for when it is in 6 button mode? But this is in 8 button mode.

Mutually Exclusive Issue
OK, will try over the next coupe of days as this KPL is not in a critical application so till I get time, I will report, so just put in the new one and try. Will do

Mutually Exclusive Issue
Sorry, not being clear. I have two ver D but have only tried this particular set up on one of them. On other units I have used mutually exclusive button, but never using pads A so was focusing in on that difference. The other "difference" is that I may have a defective device since again I have only tired one. I have another KPL in a box never used, don't know the version # but could try that as I think the ISY "replace" feature, although never tried, should make it pretty easy, as it does all of the programming for you, right? Thanks for your help Joe
-
Mutually Exclusive Issue
No, never said that. Now checking, I have 2 each Ver D and one ver 00 for a totall of three, but the one acting up is ver 2D
-
Mutually Exclusive Issue
I don't know how to tell. I bought them within the past 6 months, but how do I tell? Can I tell without removing it? if not I may replace with an extra KPL I have, but what is the difference? You said "I just checked two of my KPLs (neither of which are 2C; they are 29 and 31), and the both work fine: ", but I do not know what that means The description in the ISY console says "ver 2D"

Mutually Exclusive Issue
Michel Thought it was a communication issue I was having in another thread that I fixed: "OK, Looks like I figured it out. When I replugged everything into the socket that the PLM plugs into the isolation X10 filter was on the wrong side of the extension cord so all of the TV and DVR was not isolated. Now that it is seems to be working OK" but still having problem after reset and restore. Both A & C are both coming on when either is pressed, very weird Joe
-
Mutually Exclusive Issue
Now BOTH buttons come on and off at same time. I think I have over programmed it. How do I do reset. Can I do a Factory reset then do a restore from the ISY? Step by step , please!

Mutually Exclusive Issue
If you mean by "load button" button A, yes, although I am just using it in a scene.
