Bump. Are these features just for developers, UDI Support, or for future use? If they're for regular users, where can one get more information on them?

Trying to decide if I want to upgrade.

@johnnyt,

If there are no official explanations, then it's still in developer mode and we are testing it with few developers.

Upgraded eisy, and the upgrade appeared to complete. But, after the upgrade, I cannot add any new devices. I'm getting the error message "cannot determine device link table address." I've tried a mini remote, an outlet linc, and a lamplinc, and none of them will add. I had no problem adding devices today, before the upgrade. Thoughts? I've tried to reset the devices, and I've tried to reboot the eisy and the powercycled the PLM.

In most cases, it's the insteon device itself.

With kind regards,
Michel

I updated packages (had no idea it was a major release .. just was having issues .. haven't been here in a few weeks) and tried to delete all of the java crap and "cached applications and applets" and "installed applications and applets" are both greyed out (can't access the check box). I can't access eisy using start.jnlp. I assume it's related to not being able to delete java items.

LATER: I was able to finally connect via Iox Finder by a power cycle of eisy and the PLM. But now, I'm curious why those two buttons in the Java delete box are greyed out. I have previously selected those when I needed to update IoX. Not sure what changed. And now, my Insteon Mini Remote 8-scene is displaying all Red exclamation marks, so I am going to try and figure that out.

What computer.  If on a mac I can probably help since I am a certified mac tech.  May be your java version. (Version 8 Update 391 is the latest).   May need total java uninstall and reinstall. (You can download the JAVA uninstaller and then run the latest installer).  And I assume you have tried a computer reboot.   Those things can work on both mac and pc.

There was an FreeBSD OS upgrade behind the most recent IoX update. The steps are a little different for eisy for using the power button - one click. I did it and it seemed to take a little longer

After I did the OS Upgrade to 13.2p9 I noticed that the admin console seems to be a bit more responsive. My program lists load faster, and the device query seems to run faster.

Mine has been great but I’ll always tak better. How long does the update run?

Updated to FreeBSD 13.2p9 yesterday w/o any problems on Polisy!

Congrats to @Michel Kohanim and team. I think this is the 3rd or 4th upgrade, using the button in the AC w/o any problems.

This has been a long road as the team at UD has moved us from 994i to Eisy/Polisy and Polyglot to Nodeservers to Plug-ins.  It hasn't always been easy and I can image at times a nightmare for them trying to keep up. A 3-4 year journey? (from an old post--> we will be performing maintenance on Polyglot Infrastructure on Tuesday June 9, 2020)

But through and through, they have always been there to sort out the issues. Developers of Plug-ins have grown in their sophistication as well.

And NOW... we have one of the most versatile and powerful integrator platforms for the Prosumer available on the market!  And one that is set to usher in Matter as it develops as well.

CONGRATS!

Windoze. Was already using 391. First thing I did (before I posted) was un-/reinstall Java (I think I did it twice). Rebooted several times. Still can't tick the bottom 2 boxes.

Unexpected Update due to power outage,

My system was rebooted due to power outages today and the unit got updated to 5.8.0. I noticed issues when some of my programs did not run and devices no longer responded to AI commands. I have reloaded the unit multiple time and put the PLM and the eisy in power time out for 15 min. I am not able to create a new backup. Unit states Could not Create ZIP and Could not retrieve .files/conf/572280.rec. When i query device options or try to adjust device settings i get a DB error.

What are my options to make this unit work properly again?

@WestSeattleBoi This is probably due to a bug that was introduced with an earlier version of IoX. The fix is to contact support by opening a ticket and have UD give you a hand recovering your system. Michel was able to assist me when I had the same issue.

After a remodel and upgrades from i994 > Polisy > eISY, I had this issue crop up as well.  I don't know what caused this, but these *.REC files were related to Insteon devices that somehow had lost their attributes/data in the ISY software (these files were 0 byte files).  The devices still operated normally, but I could not backup the ISY software, etc.

In my case, the devices associated with these files -- example: file 57722B0.REC will be associated with the Insteon device 57.72.B0 -- had files to be be deleted from the ISY, the devices factory reset then re-added in the ISY.  After that, I had to recreate the scenes these devices belonged to, but I recall the programs still worked.  Now, my ISY software operates as intended.

This is a hack, and I have no idea if this is what UDI would do to resolve this issue.  If your'e not comfortable with UNIX shell commands, then I'd open a ticket with UDI and let them have a go at fixing this.

@WestSeattleBoi,

The first thing you need to do is to upgrade packages again. The only reason eisy would start an upgrade on its own after a reboot is because the previous upgrade didn't succeed. Once the upgrade is done, please Reboot (not Restart IoX). If you still have issues, please submit a ticket.

@Riggins44, you would get that in two cases: a) cache is not enabled and b) there's nothing in the cache.

With kind regards,
Michel

New problem: after getting back access to the AC, yesterday as I went to the desktop and clicked on "start.jnlp" I now get a popup context "How do you want to open this .jnlp file." Thus, until I resolve this issue, I can no longer access the AC.

Never Mind: I must have turned off browser control in the java control panel when I was trying to resolve the previous issue. Working again.

This sounds like a pure JAVA issue on the computer.  Do you have access to any other computer to try?  I would help more but not a windows guy.
