That's right. Looks like initially, adding devices will only be done through the phone app. I also notice that there is no mention of the Zmatter dongle in the announcement:

- Matter

Initial support for light bulbs and plugin modules:
-- WiFi direct.
-- WiFi through a Border Router such as Google Nest Hub or Apple HomePod.
-- Thread through a Border Router.

Not sure if that means it will only be supported a bit later.

Followed the directions. After upgrade, my eisy was offline on the Portal, UD mobile, locally, etc. The eisy did show up on my network at the usual reserved DHCP address.

Eisy also did not show up the ISY finder, even if I typed in the local IP address.

I tried run ssh in windows and putty, but it wouldn't allow me to paste or type in a password. I repowered the eisy as felt I had no choice. My eisy showed up immediately in the ISY finder, and I was able to log in without issue.

I have seen this in testing.  Reported it but not much they can do.  I think adding a second reboot may be necessary to instructions.

Updated and IoX (via Admin Console) and PG3 all appear to be working correctly.

However, now UD Mobile cannot connect to the controller. Just says "Attempting Connection" in the header, and if I attempt to manually synchronize I get a "Error: Could not finish Synchronization. The request timed out." error. Tried shutting down and restarting UD Mobile on my iPhone.

I just updated UD mobile (android version, dated Feb 10) and it connects ok to both updated Polisy and not updated eisy. Now shows option to add Matter devices using QR codes. I haven't found anything about defining Matter routers or accesses.

Did you just get an updated version of UD mobile? Another user upgraded his iPhone, and can't connect to the controller.

the Matter Add option appears in the settings (gear icon in the lower right corner, at least it does in the android version)

@Guy Lavoie Do you have your local connection set to an IP address or hostname, e.g., "polisy.local?"

No, I have the actual IP address instead. This might be the same problem as "ssh admin@polisy.local" not working, but
"ssh admin@<ip address>" works.

Yes, it appears that the updated Polisy (5.9.1) will no longer respond on the network to "polisy.local", but my non-updated Test-Polisy (5.8.4) still responds to "test-polisy.local". Are you saying they know about this problem?

EDIT: non-updated eisy still responds to "eisy.local".

Several others have experiences the same problem. I'm not sure if "they" know about it. I haven't reported it as a failure, since the workaround is quite easy. I preferred letting the more experienced users and admins interact with the folks at UDI. I'm still kinda new here.

I will log it. I know getting mDNS to work in the first place came in fits and starts. Could just be a missed configuration setting in the updated package. Also could be something that works fine on eisy but not on Polisy. I will upgrade my eisy next.

Update appears to have bricked my Polisy. Restored on to an Eisy. All good again

Interesting, that’s the second bricked Polisy.

Anyone with a Polisy that updated properly?

In order to get the Matter menu, you can

  1. Go to Configuration/System
  2. Select "on" from the Matter pop-up menu
  3. Press the Save button in the lower right corner
  4. Restart IoX (or reboot if that doesn't do it)

But bear in mind (a) Matter support is alpha software and (b) HTML browser-based interface is coming.

My Polisy upgraded to 5.9.1 just fine.

Admin console works. UD mobile too.

Same here. It previously was running 5.8.4. Doesn't have much on it, but does have the development files.

My Polisy upgraded fine except for it stopped responding to polisy.local. But everything else went smoothly. PG3x and all the plugins seem to work fine as well.

Well count me in as to a possibly bricked Polisy.  Watched the upgrade on mobile app complete to 100%.  Unable to reboot via 5 button presses so pulled the plug but not no beeps only far left light is on.  Any thoughts on what to try at this point?

Probably the quickest fix is to buy an Eisy!

Upgraded eisy without any issues. Everything is working well. I liked the status updates from UD Mobile. Good work guys.

Is any information available on how to setup or configure eisy to control Matter devices?  I've enabled it via the Admin Console and can see "Matter" in the menubar, but I'm not quite sure how to go about adding devices.  Also - does the network connection from eisy need to be WiFi to work with Matter, or can I continue to use a wired network connection?
