Ok I have 5.1.0. What is the current procedure to upgrade to the Eisy html i/F now?

UPDATE: The last update UDX took me to v6.1.2 ??

You mean upgrading by using eisy-ui? Go in eisy-ui and scroll down to System, and then after selecting the repository you're using, just click on "Upgrade Packages". This will now work the same for eisy or Polisy.

OK...where is eisy-ui? does that mean browser access? If so, what port etc..?

No need to specify a port, it's just the standard port for http.

Eisy-ui on polisy needs backup file location. Backup files have no spec for location and end up on my desktop in Win 11

General vertical spacing is too large and I only see about 5 lines on any webpage (4K monitor, Win 11)

This is a browser's global setting, different depending on the browser. While some browsers support "Save As" not all so would be inconsistent.

Vertical spacing of most text in every webpage. Lists mostly only show about 5 lines of text with spacing about 4-5 times the vertical height of the fonts.

While I have got your attention....how do you move a device from one folder to another?

I avoid most google products.

Firefox. Here is a few lines from a single device. Most text lines on all pages are double spaced....so much blank space.

Others have reported issues with Firefox. Try Chrome.

First it looks like eisy-ui is not up do date, please check for an update from within eisy-ui or if remote verify the url has the correct eisy-ui version. This may answer some of you other questions.

The items per page are controlled by browser zoom. I have ~19 lines at 100%. The breadcrumbs are removed in newer versions of eisy-ui so it adds more space.

Browser zoom does not control the font / spacing ratio, only the overall size of fonts and spacing together. HTML code controls the ratios.

I have used the upgrade several times but two items never change. Does that require a reboot?

Being Polisy I'm not sure. Might require a reboot, or ssh to update. I believe the ssh commands are on the first page of this topic.

The impact on the Polisy is not very clear. I have the same concerns.

There were two options in @jrainey inquiry:

#1. abandon admin console and still administer my Polisy

#2. or, have to keep a working version of admin console.

Which option are you saying "yes, you should be able to"?

Essentially, the Polisy will be following the same path as the eisy for now: no new updates to admin console and gradually switching over to eisy-ui, which is gaining in functionality steadily every few days. Initially UDI had wanted to reduce support for the Polisy and any updates would have been done manually through ssh. Instead, they relented and brought back updates through eisy-ui, just like for the eisy. The main constraint is that it is limited in the version of FreeBSD it can run, so there might come a time when something new might not work. Support for Matter might also be affected, something to do with IPv6 functionality being problematic.

I can testify that the Polisy is now upgradable via Eisy-UI. Last night I did yet another upgrade via ssh, and it got me udx 5.1.0. Then there was another upgrade available in the production repo (mDNSResponder), and I was able to upgrade it just by pushing the "Upgrade Packages" button.

My working Polisy is still on an older version and is controlled by the AC, but I will upgrade it soon.

Finally, I read another thread about Hue lights in scenes where Javi said that some type of configuration is only possible in Eisy-UI, and never will be in the AC, so the divergence is happening already.

Do you have one of those reimaged Polisys that end up with a small filesystem? There was a problem with that a while back, requiring some unix commands to reallocate disk space properly.

Possibly. How would I tell? I did have my SSD crap out and it had to be replaced at one time.

Bingo, telltale sign.

You can ssh into it and then do:

df

This will show the disk space. It should look like this:

I found the amazon order for 64GB. Seems I bought two? I have a spare polisy though,

The df command shows about 25 MByte x 1K sectors SSD and it is about 98% full. I hope this is easily re-allocated to one drive....ewww,

Perhaps there is some clean-up on isle two that can be done?
ie: is there multiple images of old polyglots or ISYs just taking up unemployed space?
