  1. EXACTLY - So thats why I am wondering if when Honeywell Contacted them was it for the "Redlink" devices or the new Lyric. It wasn't specifically stated.
  2. Michel- Did they approach you for their new Lyric model or was it for the older Redlink thermostats via Redlink? This is a big difference. Also if you have their ear maybe ask them if they will allow the ISY to control EVR ventilation in leu of the HVC20A1000/U Wireless Vent and Filter Boost Remote with full access to the 180mins max time limit that is available on the thermostat but not on any of their wireless remotes. Found here -> https://www.forwardthinking.honeywell.com/products/wireless/wireless_products.html- This is a big deal for people who have EVRs like myself. We can't even use the Honeywell TCC website or mobile apps to control the EVR booster, it has to be done by the remote and max timeframe is 60mins when on the thermostat the max is 180mins. If you could mention that for even an update to their TCC apps and website would be awesome.
  3. Do you check the app and is she hearing you correctly? You forgetting to ask her in english? She doesnt respond to Canadian HA!
  4. Well as I understand it, there is a chip on board with sd card access. I didnt look into this deeply but on another forum they hooked it up to the distributed audio system and doorbell. So thought maybe you could trigger the sound via the IOLinc somehow with audio out to the speakers. I dont think it needs anything else besides power, sd card to hold the mp3s, and connection to audio out. Just a suggestion to try and help. Newest version https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13720 Oh and there is serial control if you want.
  5. A couple people mentioned the sparkplug mp3 boards. Have you looked at those? Might be cheaper, easier and more features. I think this is it https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11029
  6. Teken, correct me if I am wrong but doesnt ZWave switches offer energy consumption values right now? So it would seem if you had these devices installed the ISY should be able to grab these values correct? If so then the echo should be able to just spit back the info? Or am I misunderstanding how it works? I guess my point being similar to the energy module.
  7. Due to my NDA with UDI I am unable to comment with more details. There is absolutely no benefit for me to continue to discuss this so I agreed with Michel I would stop since its in both our interests not to continue to waste our time. That being said all I was trying to do is help members like you find the info faster. I only want the best for the forum, its members and UDI. I feel my posts distracted from that and apologize. All further posts by me will be specific to the topic and only if I can add something new to the discussion. /end
  8. You make my point exactly. You totally ignored the question about waiving our NDA. For the benefit of the forum, members, and not to continue to waste each others time, I agree to end the discussion as well.
  9. Michel do you think its good business to argue publicly with customers and on your forum? If you give permission to waive our NDA contract then I say sure lets do this. I have all our emails and PMs to prove this. I also have my emails with UBI and the founder. Maybe for your sake we should agree to disagree and let it go. Why do you want to keep this going after you said you didnt especially since I havent posted anything more. You do know that I offered UDI financial backing but at the time you didnt want the ISY to have any cloud dependencies.
  10. Not to berade this further, but I guess I am. I was actually trying to help you with what sounded like the exact problem I had the day before and spent hours on trying to resolve. If you look at this thread http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/17861-amazon-echo-connected-home-feature/page-1you will see other people have had this issues and also asked to have this info pinned/sticky to help users like you quickly find the info to help. I don't blame you or anyone else for not wanting to search and read every post in 17+ pages! Hell I have better things to do too! I was just frustrated by the fact that its been asked so many times by members to post the instructions and troubleshooting but it hasn't been done all to try and help members like you. I don't benefit from it, but for whatever reason the requests are being ignored and it pains me to see UDI just not doing anything about it to help their customers. Maybe I care too much and it got the best of me. So if I offended you specifically I apologize. However I do not regret what I posted or apologize to Michel, as I stand behind my post. FWIW if you care, take a look at my post #10 here we talk about the same problem and people have asked what I spoke out about - http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/18000-can-isy-use-amazon-echo-as-an-alert-device/- If I didn't care about UDI and the ISY I wouldnt be so vocal about things. Would you rather have a passionate person try and help the forum and members or someone who sits in the back and doesn't do anything. I can't sit by quietly and watch people struggle with the same thing over and over when it could be resolved with something as simple as pining the instructions and troubleshooting as things come up. I would even go so far to say this is a customer service thing. If this means I am outrageous then so be it.
  11. Yeah no disrespect to you but you probably best to stay out of it unless you have something constructive to say about something I specifically said and disagree with. I am just echoing peoples comments that have been said. Nothing in my post I think is wrong. Maybe I could have sugar coated it but if you read each part and think about what I say you may actually agree with me and understand I am actually trying to help, not only UDI/Michel but other using the ISY. If you had the echo info handy you wouldnt have even had to post your question if there was a better way right? Thats my point. BTW I even tried to help you solve your problem.
  12. First please dont call me dude. Second what was it that I said that was not constructive? I am saying the same thing other people of said millions of times before me. I just have the balls to stick up for myself and say it.
  13. Oh yeah outrageous - your not going to dignify it with an answer but isnt responding an answer? And what is so outrageous about my post? That you do something?
  14. Michel nice way to avoid things by not specifically pointing out my "outrageous post" and/or "factually incorrect assertions" making it appear as though I am fabricating this. Even if I was for what benefit? I also have the emails when I brought up the UBI and IFTTT additions to the ISY back in Aug 2012 - check your emails. I am happy to post them in the forum if you like for transparency. Why did we sign a NDA agreement then? Which I can post too. As for the portal, I specifically brought up my portal issues with you last Sunday via email and you blew me off telling me my issue was my router setup, which clearly was not the case since others have the same issue. Michel I support ISY 100%. I am on the RTI and other forums posting how great the product is, my family and friend have purchased the ISY because of my recommendations as well as one of my companies installing them in clients homes via purchasing them from AVAD. However there are things that have been posted you chose to ignore which is frustrating. You have both my personal email and phone number if you like to discuss I am always available to you.
  15. Michel can you do what was asked by Xathros and pin this and make it read only and editable by Keith or certain others so this info can be found quickly?!
  16. Think one of those cheap boards with android os installed work well for this? Maybe a cheap option?
  17. Stus I think your missing my point? I been using the same static IP for years with no issues, mobilinc etc. like you I didnt have any issues until trying to use the portal. Changing the ISY as someone else suggested to DHCP all of a sudden the portal connected and I didnt do anything else. Switched the IP back to static and the ISY portal still works. Seems this is a issue for more people than just me.
  18. It made me grumpier as the movie sucked. I seriously cant handle this anymore! Its like we have spoon feed all this testing to UDI yet no one reads it or anyone is doing anything about it. We both went through this exact issue last night! But I don't blame anyone for not wanting to scroll through 50 freaking pages of a thread just to find answers! It should be right on the first page, the first thread and in the first post! If new customers coming to the ISY are having this much trouble to setup the Echo think about the perceived "hassle" and "hoops to jump through" on their first experience with the ISY. The only thing good that comes out of it is that users like us help other people out quickly on their forums. Why is it so damn hard to put a sticky on the first post of the Amazon Echo section with clear instructions and troubleshooting help? What the hell is UDI doing all day that they cant cut and paste some of what all of us here on the forums have given them to help make this easier! Hell none of the UDI chimed in on our posted except for when you posted your screenshots - otherwise or posts were never acknowledged.
  19. I dont think the answer relies in if its set for DHCP or Static I think there is something that is causing the Portal not to see the ISY until the IP on the ISY changes. My ISY was static not issues connecting ever and I couldnt get the portal to connect until I switched the ISY to DHCP - once connected I switched back to the original static IP and still works. So the question is why? I suggest anyone having issues connecting the portal to the ISY - if your using DHCP switch to static IP to see if the portal connects to the ISY - if so switch back to DHCP with reservation or whatever.
  20. This is the same damn issues Teken and I had last night and posted in the other thread. Is no one listening to us Teken? Seems we are being disregarded!? [emoji36] /end rant Amazon Echo - Connected Home Feature! http://forum.universal-devices.com/index.php?/topic/17861-Amazon-Echo---Connected-Home-Feature%21
  21. Teken Im gonna keep this short since Im at the movie theater getting ready to watch the new Star Wars as I haven't seen it yet and there is a cool new theater called the ipic with reclining seats, food etc (ipictheaters.com). But your right it bothers me and as a business owner and angel investor I offered my resources/$$ to help Michel back in 2012 for these two specific things. I put my money where my mouth is!
  22. Try changing your isy ip to dhcp and see if it fixes it. A lot of people are having this same issue.
  23. I brought the UBI KS project to Michels attention when it first was released to hope he would see the potential in it and get in and help from the ground up, but he disregarded me because it was cloud based. I backed the UBI way back when when it was first introduced on KS and I ended up returning it to them. I had a lengthy discussion with the creators with how it worked and what was promised vs what what actually happened. The UBI case is cheap garbage, voice recognition was IMHO horrific, the fact the power light glowed bright blue like a lighthouse beacon just all turned me off. I feel with some polish and more people behind it the UBI it could be a good product. I then had a discussion about IFTTT with Michel when it first came out to help to ISY become integrated in the channels they provide, again because it was cloud based he shot me down. It hasnt been until the Amazon Echo did he actually saw value in moving forward but now IMHO the ISY is behind the curve playing catch-up to the SH HUB rather than paving the way to new areas. Or some could say SH Hub forced his hand and if he didnt provide it he would lose sales. I like the UDI team and Michel and have nothing but the up most respect for them, however I think there is room for improvement on how the UDI as a company could grow, which I been vocal about and so has others including Teken. I feel like the UDI team is becoming like Microsoft and keep get beat to the punch and now playing catchup to be able to compete. Sad. Another good example is the whole node, RasPI, Polygot, etc. Sure Vera sucks with plugins but its there. This could be a prime opportunity to add a feature to sell more units. Will it take another two years for them to decide to do it?
  24. Teken- your right. The skill was disabled in my app so I enabled it. I logged out of the app, waited 30 secs, logged back into the app, checked the skill was enabled, went to the portal, clicked on amazon echo, no error complaining about the skill, I went back into the app, disabled the skill, logged out of the portal, logged back into the portal, went to the amazon echo drop down, no more complaining about the skill even though its disabled on the amazon app. Asked Alexa to discover devices, she found them and responded found "X" "Connected home devices, and they show under the connected home section and work fine. Very finicky. Question now is whats the desired result here, "should there be an error or not when the skill is disabled if your using the connected home?"
  25. So are you still thinking I am not 100% setup since I am getting the ISY skill error? I added 5 devices to test and amazon connected home shows them in the app and they do work. It also shows in my profile the isy UDID and my account being linked to amazon. Should I unlink my account again from the profile and then link it back to see if that works or should I leave things alone? Are you saying I should do a full outlet off and then back on reboot too?
