Hello all, Release 2.8.2 Beta is now available. Although this firmware has been tested thoroughly, please note that this is still a beta firmware. For a list of changes, please take a look at this post: http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... =6475#6475 Please note that ISY-26 is no longer included in the firmware builds. Instructions 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY) 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 99 Only - http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... nsteon.zip 3. It is very important that you use your current ISY's Admin Console to perform the upgrade by going to your http://your.isy.ip.address/admin. For MAC users, if upgrade fails, please try https://your.isy.ip.address/admin 4. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 5. Choose the file saved in step 2 6. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache 7. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. http://isy/admin - applet (Windows only) b. http://isy/admin.jnlp - Java application (Windows only) c. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin - applet d. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application e. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.2 - applet f. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/2.8.2/admin.jnlp - Java application 8. IMPORTANT If you have already installed a self signed certificate and your current firmware is 2.7.10 and below, you must reinstall a new one: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... rtificates IMPORTANT Due to the sensitive nature of supporting MorningLinc, users now must agree to terms and conditions upon Admin Console start up otherwise the console closes. Thanks and with kind regards, Michel

Hello rtt3821, No, please do not connect ISY directly to the modem. What you want to do is port forward ISY's HTTPS port (default is 443) on your Linksys router to point to ISY's IP address. You will find detailed instructions here: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... o_Your_ISY If you are still experiencing problems, please do give our tech support a call and we'll walk you through it. With kind regards, Michel

Weird question maybe - Don't even know how to refer to it
Michel Kohanim replied to wpmjones's topic in ISY994
Hello wpmjones, If you have this problem with all your devices AND IF doing a device restore fixes others as well, the I would suspect the PLM (i.e. for some reason the PLM is losing the link records). With kind regards, Michel -
Weird question maybe - Don't even know how to refer to it
Michel Kohanim replied to wpmjones's topic in ISY994
Hello wpmjones, The first question I have is how did you register your devices in ISY? Did you use the third option (add devices found in link and import existing links)? If so, that might explain the missing link record in the PLM: in some cases, previous linkages when done by HouseLinc create phantom or orphaned links. As such, my recommendation is: 1. To remove those devices that were added using this method 2. Do a factory reset on them 3. Add them back in If this fixes the problem, then you do not have to worry about PLM being defective. With kind regards, Michel -

First of all, I want to thank LeeG for his invaluable help and support. I do not think the IRLinc issue is related to this issue. wpmjones, there are two cases where you would not see the status from your devices reflected in ISY: 1. You already have TOO many links in your PLM especially if it's an old one 2. There's a signal issue What I suggest is: right mouse click on the ToggleLinc and then choose Restore Device. If this fixes the problem then the problem is your PLM. If not, then the problem is signal/noise related. With kind regards, Michel -
Hello rtt3821, If you have port forwarded port 443 to your ISY, then the userid/password is that of your ISY (i.e. you are trying to connect to your ISY remotely). If not, please let me know how you have setup your port forwarding. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Robb, Please try synchronizing your ISY's time with the network time server. If that also fails, then the problem is that ISY does not have any access to the Internet. We had to migrate our old mail server to a new one the information for which is available in 2.8.1. With kind regards, Michel

Hello dblee50, I am so very sorry to hear about these problems. The number 1 issue is Software Firewall (especially Kaspersky, McAfee, and NOD32). If - above and beyond Windows Firewall - you do not have any other firewall software, please do call our tech support team to schedule a tech support call. We'll figure out what's causing the issues. Again, sincere apologies for the inconvenience. With kind regards, Michel

Hello rtt3821, Simply go to https://your.remote.ip.address ... once connected, in your browser, review the certificate details (you will be prompted to accept it). With kind regards, Michel

Hi Mark, Currently, we have so many things on our plate and we are so behind on so many essential tasks (such as ELK) that this project would probably get zero priority unless you can do something with the Network Module. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Billy, I just tested it again at least 20 times and the humidity readings are always within 5% of each other after each query. I do think the problem to be on the thermostat/sensor/dongle. If you would like, I can give you access to our lab's ISY and you can test for yourself. If interested, please send an email to tech@universal-devices.com. With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.8.1 Beta is now available

Mr. Earnhardt, I am at a loss ... none of these features require any userid/password. If you are talking about the HTML interface, the userid/password is the same as your ISY's (you are getting to ISY). Please do ensure that your ISY can access the Internet. And, if you are unhappy with WB, simply send an email to sales@universal-devices.com and we'll refund and uninstall the module for you. With kind regards, Michel -

Hello Mr. Earnhardt, If you cannot see your programs, it means that ISY cannot communicate with your PLM and has gone to safe mode. Would you please go to Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Status/Info and make sure it says "Connected"? If not, please unplug your PLM for a minute or so and they retry. With kind regards, Michel -

Hello mitch236, This should not happen with 2.8.1 ... there was a bug with previous alpha releases 2.8.xxx ... Please clear your Java cache and retry. With kind regards, Michel -
Hello cmaterick, This probably has to do with the router not allowing DNS relay while using static IP address. What you might want to try is to use the DNS entries from your ISP (with caveat that this may change) and see if things get more reliable. With kind regards, Michel

Hello me23, I am so very sorry to hear about these problems and I really wished you hadn't formatted the SD Card. You can always use the 3rd option when adding a device and ISY will keep the links and tries to figure out the scenes and relationships between devices. This process might take a long time but, if you have programmed all your devices using ISY, then the likelihood of recovering everything is much higher. But, you have to be patient during the process. And, as Mark suggested, you need to reinstall the firmware (using http://www.universal-devices.com/99i) to get your Admin Console back locally. With kind regards, Michel
