I just installed a 2 wire Dimmer Kit. I have a closet area that has 2 switches that have no hot and neutral wire, just a 2 wire switch leg. I have noticed that the Dimmer component 2474D and the Companion Switch 2474S have limited controls available via my ISY 99i. You cannot set "On Levels" or "Ramp Rate" as you can with other Switchlinc devices. You can set these values via Programming but I am using a 2420 Motion Sensor via a Scene to trigger these devices. The Scene does not allow any of these Values to be set either. I have a scene that takes place in the evening and i want my light to come on with a dimmed value and another scene for that same area during the daytime and want a full lighting value for that time. The reason that I am using a scene to control this area is because the scene has no lag time for triggering the lights as would happen via program control. Is this an Oversight or has no one asked for these features? If so, can these features be added in an upcoming release? Trust me, if I could conveniently re-wire these switches I would and I can't be the only one using these devices _"I hope". Sincerely, Clarence Martin

Please forget this post. I received a call from Support about Purchasing the module and they were able to answer all of my questions. This is really cool. It actually shows my X10 Motion Detector and the Satus Chages as the Module detects motion. Great Stuff! Clarence
-
I guess I should have placed this question in the X10 Forum - Sorry I seem to be messing up this posting Clarence Martin
-
I am having problems loading the x10 module. I get the following dialog box message: [-140000] HTTP Client DNS error [www.homeorchestrator.com]. What am I doing wrong?
-
So, is 2.7.8 available for download?
-
thought as much, but I can wish.

Is the max of 9 seconds a fixed Insteon value or is this a value that can be changed by universal Devices? I would like so see a longer value - I use this in a Sunrise Clock Scene and would love to see this value to be as much as 15 minutes. If UDI can make this change, can we put this on the Product Request?
-
Thank you again for your super fast responses. I am looking forward to my new 99i.

Michel, I just ordered my upgrade to the 99i Pro. How much is the weatherbug option? Is it a device? I guess I can order that afer I get my 99i. I hope the new 99i will have the latest firmware. Can I just unzip my ISY 26 Programs (Backup) into the 99I for migration? Clarence
-
Oh! Another good reason for me to upgrade to the 99. Thanks
-
Hi Michel, A fast response as always. Sorry but I can't find the link under the help that you mentioned in order acquire the Weather bug option.
-
Michel, You made mention of a Weather Bug Option under the 6.9 Update. I did some research on Weather Bug and I am not sure what devices would be an option for Weather Bug. i downloaded the Weather Bug Desktop and other Widget for the Mac and I like what I see. Can you expand on the idea of an option for Weather bug that you have in mind? Also, maybe we could have a separate thread for the Weather Bug. I already have a program that I manually set a flag for when it's raining to turn my sprinklers off, but I have to remember to change that flag after the rain. I look forward to having an interface that I can use for rainy days as well as extended low humidity times so that my sprinkler control can be automatically changed for the conditions.

I currently have my low voltage lights working with a lamplinc. The only issue that you may be faced with is: on long ramp rates, the lamplinc module is placed under a lot of stress and my fail. I know this from personal experience. I only allow my low voltage lamps to come on to 80% and lower them down to 25% for late nights. The beauty of using the lamplinc, is that I have not had any issues with burning out my low voltage bulbs .... I would burn out bulbs all of the time ... but the soft start using a lamplinc prevents bulb burn out. If you are using a large load, you may want ot upgrade to the higher wattage Lamplinc.

Chris, Thanks again. I did a search for Mac Browsers and the news is not good. The two most popular and supposedly the greatest are Safari and Firefox. I am having some difficulty making Firefox open " my lighting". I am surprised that Apple hasn't kept up with Java's updates - Oh Well.. For such a sophisticated OS to have such slow software updates... I guess this proves that even Apple has abysses where things fall into. Hopefully not too far down though. Let me know what you find. Clarence

Chris, Thanks for this effort. I did all that you said with the Java Console. Now, I will wait until you get our system upgraded we will kick this thing around again. Let me know when you have your system up to date. Again, thanks... Clarence
-
Chris, It still doesn't work. I can't seem to get this one right. Clarence
-
Hi Chris, I went back to the Java console and did have to make one change. In one of the dialog boxes, I had to re-order my preferences for the version of Java to run first. But, to no avail... no sorting available. So now Java 6.0 is the first in the list. I'm feeling kind of dumb at this moment. Clarence

Sorry Chris, exactly where do I do this? I opened the java folder under the Utilities folder under the applications folder. I don't see a place to type in the 's' that you mentioned. Am I in the right place? This is the same place where i delete the temp files..... Clarence
-
Chris, Another thing.... The column headers do not highlight when I mouse -over them like the PC Browsers. This missing element is also missing on the Device page - that allows column sorting. Clarence
-
Chris, There is no text "Click Column Heading to Sort" beside the Edit | Refresh buttons. Just checked. Like I said, the Edit and Refresh buttons do exist and they work. Clarence
-
Chris, I really don't remember seeing that option. I do remember using the Edit and Refresh buttons though. I will have to check later today when I get Home. Thanks, Clarence

Michel, I know that this post was started again in the update forum. I have updated my Java to the latest for the Mac. I have the new 6.0 Java and I am running the latest Safari and the new Firefox 3.0. I just checked the sorting function in the different screens. I can sort columns on the Device Screen, but not on the Programs Screen. this would indicate a problem in the program and not the Java capability of the browser. Please check and let me know if I'm wrong. Thanks, Clarence Martin

Release 2.6.5 is now available (RC4)

Thanks Jim, Got the update. Still no sorting though. Clarence -

Good Update. I see some screen enhancements - subtle but attractive. I like other enhancements - next schedule event time. I am still reviewing all of the other screens, One question - Any idea when the next Sun Java update for Mac will come? We need sorting capability on the program summary screen. Keep up the good work! Clarence
