I'll look into it, thanks! Update, I created a new Gmail account and turned off less secure apps and turned on two factor then generated a new password. That worked, thanks! I still need to know what's up with outlook.com's smtp...
-
@Michel Kohanim@GeddyGoogle has informed me by email that less secure apps will no longer be allowed to use Google SMTP beginning May 2022. I currently use Google's SMTP with the ISY and it works perfectly. I'm testing smtp-mail.outlook.com on Polisy and it works perfectly. However, the same Outlook settings on the ISY actually causes a crash of the ISY itself (complete restart). smtp-mail.outlook.com smtp port 587 Timeout 2,000 ms Enable TLS checked (Outlook actually says to use Starttls) Userid/PW the same in both the ISY/Polisy Are the mailers in both systems the same or perhaps are the libraries different on Polisy and the ISY that would cause this difference in behavior? I have other options for SMTP but I thought it would be worth asking as I can't be the only one being advised of the demise of Google'sless secure apps. Thanks in advance!

@Michel KohanimI've been using command line since the early 1980s so don't cutoff access pls. -
How do you manage the device associations with IoP? PS I found Zooz tech support pretty good. My Zooz controller pooched and they're sending another.

@Geddy I'm confused about the two files and what it is supposed to fix. My understanding is to flip from Bios to UEFI we were supposed to press the button 6 times but as most people noticed it didn't work properly as after a reboot the left most LED would flash. Then the two files were released as a fix which it seems did stop the LED from flashing but where are we left with the BIOS/UEFI change? Are we supposed to try the 6 button press again to flip to UEFI or wait for a console change or are we already flipped because of previous 6 button press attempts? Thanks for the clarification. -

I'll wait for the Console update, I'm not a good paper clip button pusher, shakey hands. -

SSH shutdown -r now Full system reboot which triggers the BIOS LED flashing flag. -

Now do a reboot and see if it returns... For me the 6X appears to work but returns on reboot. -

Any clue what the far left LED flashing fast mean? -
@kzboray Just curious, have you checked the event viewer for repeated communication attempts by the controller to talk to the device? Asking because my "slowness" was actually just the Status taking a couple of seconds to update. Adding a program to monitor for Hail fixed the problem. My zooz stick is on the latest fw (thanks to you) and I haven't seen any noticeable performance improvement.

I've been looking at this device, so this is helpful. I have a wall switch with power (previous owner's reno) but it doesn't actually control anything so something like this could be useful. I find slow response times annoying, I wonder what's causing it?

Just the UD Mobile app, I think you're right. Thanks!

My ISY Error Log is full of these and a Forum search didn't turn up anything. -170001 [UDSockets] HTTP:43 error:6 I seem to remember -170001 is Informational. Thanks!

@macjeff - kzboray wrote a nice summary on how to upgrade below. I had to guess at a couple of install steps, but they made sense so things went pretty much per the instructions. The main difference was that when doing the "Install by Technology Type" I selected "32-Bit and Wireless MCU's" Not all. This seems to have worked as I was able to do the update and under "Tools" Z-Wave PC Controller" is an option. Here are the steps I took. These are from memory, so I may have missed a step or two, but this should get you most of the way there. 1.) Register an account with Silicon Labs 2.) Install Simplicity Studio https://www.silabs.com/developers/simplicity-studio 3.) Accept the License and log in using the credentials you created 4.) Click "Install" and Select "Install by Technology Type" 5.) Check "32-Bit and Wireless MCU's" then click "Next" (This will take a few minutes to complete.) 6.) Select "Auto" & Accept the license agreement 7.) Open Simplicity Studio and click on "Tools" 8.) Select "Z-Wave PC Controller" and install the new firmware I tested and these steps are correct. That said, I also had problems upgrading initially because of a bad Zooz adapter. Zooz is kindly replacing. Regarding the Zooz 7.17 fw, I haven't noticed any difference from 7.15.

Thanks, I gather it's a legacy thing as I found this regarding Hail THIS COMMAND CLASS HAS BEEN OBSOLETED New implementations MUST report local state updates via the Lifeline Association Group or use dedicated Command Classes for application specific purposes. My GE switch doesn't use Hail and Status is updated properly.
-
@K-bert thanks that for information, working for me too. @Michel Kohanim I wonder can this be built into Polisy code? I hope I don't have to write a Hail Query for every Z-Wave device. (maybe it's on the list ?)
-
@MWareman I had exactly the same thought. So I'm currently running Zooz and Insteon dongles on my Polisy and everything is working perfectly.
-
@jkosharek I'm curious to know what you are using now for home alarm?
-
I see the same unrecognized message but I haven't upgraded. I'm still on Zooz 7.15
-
I was actually wondering if I should do a factory reset of the Zooz from the Policy to fix my updating problem. I submitted a ticket to Zooz and they're stumped.
-
Those are the steps I followed, just to be clear on Step 8 you selected OTW and zwave controller then picked up the file? Also I didn’t do the Network/Add bit.
-
No

Thanks, my Tools panel is identical to yours. It’s only after using OTW and the error that the background is greyed out. When I click Ok on the error it goes back to normal.
