I asked him about z-matter module [lack of] availability for Polisy in Canada on January 25 2023 and never got a response. I gave up and currently staying on the ISY until supply chain and firmware is sorted out.

I understand the complexity of replacing it, how many of the competing IOT systems use a similar java base for their admin console and what benefit does it add? As an aside my friend is java guru Gosling's sister.

Is UDI making any moves away from java launcher? It seems to be a source for so many end user problems. I read somewhere the mobile app was going to serve as the basis for a new desktop app maybe misread though...

Any reason you wouldn't use a 700 series z-wave dongle? Fyi the 800 series dongles will be coming soon. Hubitat already launched their C8 with really amazing range and zwave zigbee and zmatter.

@asbril can you help me find where you do the update in PG3 itself? I go through all the clickable areas of PG3 3.1.18 and I don't see where you can update. PS I don't have any PGs at this point and I haven't migrated from my ISY994.

I wish they would get the beep messaging corrected. Is it 4 beeps, 4+1 beeps, but I count 5+1... Easy update, working perfectly, zero issues.

@kegacide you still need a PLM with the eisy for your insteon right?

I find there is a lot of rebooting required with z-wave dongles and recent updates. Annoying but I'm sure it will be sorted out...

I throw the extra nodes into a Misc folder. The more I use Z-Wave the more I appreciate Insteon...

Does the dongle screw down or clip in? What was your reasoning for moving the module to the dongle? Maybe I’m missing something…

That’s my setup now with z-wave and Insteon dongles on a usb extension hub. I’ll just wait thanks!

Hi, our Canadian seller of UDI devices has ZMatter USB dongles in stock (supposedly). Does anyone know if the dongle can be disassembled (without destroying it) and the internal module used in the Polisy directly? This might be a way to get around the no availability no eta for the ZMatter module itself from the seller. Thanks.

Understandable but I would think comms to the retailer would be better. There's only one in Canada (that I know of).

I attempted to order the ZMatter board for my Polisy and was advised by the seller in Canada that they are backordered with no eta. @Michel Kohanim are we now into supply chain issues with this board? Or is this a temporary glitch? I placed the order but if this is going to be a long drawn out delay I'll just cancel... Thanks!

Hi all, my 90 yr old father has an ISY that I use automate certain tasks to make his life simpler and more enjoyable. His ISY config is pretty basic involving insteon switches for lights, a battery remote, and a few scenes and programs for lighting schedules. I use network resources for a local server which is used to collect weather data to automate/control some environmentals using iolincs. Everything is working perfectly. The question is can I upgrade his ISY to v5.3.4 from v4 without any impact to his configuration - especially network resources? Thanks!
