  1. You should be able to add devices, scenes and programs to the Alexa app via the portal. I have bunches of scenes that are controlled by the Alexa app. Not all of these scenes control lights. Or are you using the smartphone app. If so, then there are separate panels for devices, groups and scenes. Both devices and scenes include more than Insteon devices if you have devices installed that can also be controlled by the app, such as Harmony devices and thermostats. Groups have to be created and are for devices that you want to control as one that are not normally "grouped," for example a thermostat and a light. You do not need to create a group for devices that are members of an Insteon scene.
  2. That's exactly the problem I'm experiencing. I see no way to activate the skill for a particular Echo device, let alone the sub-account I created for that purpose.
  3. The planet is out-of-this-world as is ISY support
  4. Sending a command to a device will not have any effect on the device's links. To do otherwise can result in an infinite loop. If you want to control more than one Insteon device, then include all those device in a scene and control the scene. If the scene is inconsistent, then the first place to look is the load. Remove that load to determine of the Insteon device responds correctly. If the device does not respond as expected, then the problem is communication difficulties. Post your results.
  5. So, if I want to use the same expression, for example, "Alexa, turn on the light," in each of different rooms with the result that only the light in that particular room turns on, then I still need multiple Amazon accounts. In any case, an Amazon account it required.
  6. I added the ceiling light scene and device (connected to the load) to a group. I named the group "light." Neither the ceiling room scene not the device are named light. No problem saying, "Alexa, turn on the light," or ,"Alexa, turn the light on." By using multiple account, I can issue the same in command in any of several rooms, and only the light in that room turns on. Both the device and the scene are included in the group so that I can issue a %age, for example, "Alexa, set the light to 40%."
  7. Hi Benoit, Thanks for the response. The account is created and approved. The ISY indicates that the account is registered. I can select the account after I log in to the Main account. I can add devices. scenes and programs to that new account. But I don't see a way to enable any skill unless I log in to an Amazon account. I understand that an Amazon account is no loner required with v.3. So, how do I enable the skill for the new account?
  8. The latest releases of Firefox are no compatible with Java. Use a different browser if a browser is what you want, but the link shown by Paul is the preferred method. Another choice is to use the Firefox Extended Support Release which does support Java.
  9. Benoit, I do want and need multiple accounts to allow the same spoken perform different tasks based on where the Echo device is located. OK, I created and approved a new sub-account plus a new user. If I log in using the new user credentials, then the only tools are ISY Web Access and Information. When I log in to the Main Account, I can add to the new account, but I don't see a way the add the ISY skill to that account. Too, how do I add an Echo device to the new sub-account without adding an Amazon account? There's no urgency. An immediate response in not needed. Enjoy whatever you're doing Thanks, Stu
  10. If jumper 5 is on, then all settings must be done in the ISY admin console (except sensitivity, jumper 1).
  11. Does that mean that I can simply create a new sub-account without a corresponding Amazon account? I currently have four accounts and would like to add a fifth. Also, can I delete the extra Amazon accounts w/o making any portal changes?
  12. Sub-Mode 01 in the on-line Owner's Manual.
  13. Yes, "Latching" is the correct mode. Although the momentary time window shows, the setting has no effect when latching is selected.
  14. It'd be nice, but no, there's no setting between 0.5 and 2 seconds.
  15. One step at a time: Supply the valve with 12VDC, the valve red wire is (+) and the valve black wire is (-). Connect the power supply (+) to the I/O Linc Com. Connect the valve white wire to the I/O Linc NO if you want the valve to remain normally closed (no fluid flow); connect the white wire to the I/O Linc NC if you want the valve to be normally open. "Normal" means that no signal is sent to the I/O Linc. Send an On signal to the I/O Linc, send an Off signal to the I/O Linc. Does the valve function correctly?
  16. No buttons can be disabled. Try a slightly less convenient two-tap solution. Tap up, then down (or down, then up). Or just leave the display on.
  17. All of my Amazon Echo's features depend entirely on Amazon's ability. WiFi is used only to connect to the cloud.
  18. I have no ides what a "neutral load" wire is An electric wire is either neutral, load or line, each mutually exclusive. Leave the box unchecked to be in the mode shown in red. If you are not creating a 3-way configuration, then that option doesn't matter. In general, if you want on responds to On and off responds to Off, then leave all three options unchecked,
  19. It's been purported to be possible, but I'm not aware of anyone who has accomplished that task using a Google Home device. I accomplish what you want by using multiple Amazon (Echo) and portal accounts. I don't know it the Google Home app is capable of supporting more than one account.
  20. Good point. I'll attempt to be more specific. I do try to be terse in my responses, but maybe lengthy is better
  21. Liberally, that's just fine
  22. Artificial Intelligence is fine. The problem is human intelligence or, rather, lack of same
  23. Info only: Reverted to v2 for the sake of WAF. Had to recreate routine actions. The routines themselves remained.
  24. Ditto. None of my routines that run programs which depended on both On and Off are working. Just when I thought the Open/Close difficulty had been solved.
  25. Hmm, seems a lot like post #6.
