  1. There's a lot to read, so I may have missed it. Can you control the button by turning the scene on/off from the Administrative Console (i.e, run Then; run Else)?
  2. Hi AnthemAVM, I sent you a PM.
  3. Where are you located?
  4. If you have button B as a controller, then any other device in that scene should turn on (or off). It doesn't matter if the other device are responders or controllers because all ISY scene controllers are also automatically responders. Are you sure that you added button B as a controller? Scene controllers show in red, responders in blue.
  5. Are you going with ready made or made to order? BTW, I have a slew of Somfy window coverings, all RTS. Along with the ISY network module, Somfy URTS interface and an Autelis Somfy interface, I have complete control via the ISY, any Insteon controller and Somfy wall and hand-held remotes. That includes automatically closing at night, opening in the morning (not the bedroom), and anything in between, for example one-third open, one third closed, halfway, etc.
  6. Add button E as a responder to the scene that has button B as a controller.
  7. Both are relative easy to control. But there's a lot more to window covering than control, for example design and price. Also, are you adding motors to existing shading or are you buying new?
  8. All but a few boxes here are metal. Even before dual-band devices, I never found that a metal box itself caused a communication error. At most, RF range may have been restricted, but any communication error was caused by something else (e.g., noise on the powerline).
  9. Yes it is. Besides allowing for use of IFTTT, the portal provides a secure off-site connection to your ISY without having to set up your router nor install a security certificate.
  10. Did you ever try the correct factory reset procedure (see post #9)?
  11. Which method did you use to set the button to non-Toggle off, the ISO options menu or the instructions in the device's manual? Pulling out the set button and restoring the device does not perform a factory reset. Pull out the set pin, wait at least 10 seconds, then push in the set button and hold it in until the KPL beeps for a while. Don't release the set button until the beeping stops. If the reset was successful, the load will turn on a few seconds later.
  12. Yes, even if the device shows !, the ISY can rewrite the links unless the device it totally kaput. That may be the case, a factory reset should emit a long beep while holding in the set button and double-beep after you release the set button. Did the load turn on after the factory reset you tried?
  13. Just to be sure, how did you factory reset the switch? After the reset, did you use the ISY to restore the switch?
  14. Is the replacement device identical to the device you want replaced? BTW, I have no idea what a right facing yellow arrow represents.
  15. Right click on the old device to expose the "Replace with" command. The old device must not be in a folder. It does not need to be physically present, only in the ISY list of devices.
  16. You may want to consider switching to a Z-Wave lock (which requires the Z-Wave Module). Unlike the MI locks, Z-Wave locks do report their status, locked or unlocked. In any case, right click on the device(s) you want to remove and select Delete. If the device is in a folder, you'll need to move it out of the folder first (right click for that option). If you intend to replace the devices with new, identical devices, then don't delete them. Instead, add the new device(s) first, right click on the old device and select Replace. The old device does not need to be physically present. The replace procedure will remove the old device, name the new device using the old device's name and update any scenes and/or programs that the old device was a member of.
  17. As I've already indicated more than once, there are no "default" commands other than adjusting the set-point. That's a lot, otherwise you'd need a program for each and every set point that you desired. Anything else requires a program. Do you need help with programming? Have you ever created an ISY program? Is your concern only with voice commands?
  18. I can't answer the first question because I'm not you. As far as the second question, creating programs is an option to change mode and/or turn the thermostat on or off.
  19. Does "Alexa, set the thermostat_name to X" not work for you?
  20. There's no built in way to change modes, but you can ask Alexa to set the 'thermostat_name" to x degrees.
  21. Not possible if you don't have a stop command possible. But you indicated in posts #3 & #4 that stop is possible. Are you doing that by changing the timing on the open/close module? Does the original controller have a stop command available?
  22. I prefer that the KPL button be illuminated when the garage door is open and unlit when it's closed. Button set to non-Toggle On I/O Linc set to Momentary A Relay Follows Input checked My I/O Linc doesn't have a "Send On Cmd" (except for X10) nor LED On or off, only LED on Tx, not even Beep with Set Btn, just Key Beep. Whether the button is lit or unlit depends on the sensor you're using. If it's the sensor that came with the kit, then there's no choice. The magnetic sensor should be connected to S and Gnd, not N/O and Gnd. The garage door opener connects to N/O and Com.
  23. Restoring the PLM should be done locally.
  24. It's really not that unusual for an Insteon device that's been functioning to at some time require a factory reset, sometimes twice. KPLs are among the most likely to need a reset.
  25. Interesting theorem, but I suspect that the syntax in and of itself minimizes the search time. For example, when I say, "Alexa, tell Harmony to ... ," then only the Harmony skill gets searched. OTOH, Amazon added a Fire TV ability that doesn't require a skill. It works like reserved words do, asking Alexa to raise/increase the volume changes the volume on the Echo device, but there's no separate "Echo" skill. Of course, since volume is reserved for the Echo device, it doesn't work for the TV volume.
